I live within walking distance of the restaurant and visit the spot almost every week. Food is authentic, relatively inexpensive and generously portioned. Their taco salad keeps me coming back for the PERFECTLY crisp shell containing everything needed for a Mexican fix.(Carne, chopped lettuce, refried beans, cheese, sour cream and guacamole.) The owners always treat me well and the salsa bar is legit. They keep JackRabbit on tap for local micro beer lovers.

This place has been a favorite of mine for over 15 years. They have great, fresh, delicious food and it’s served up fast for those of us on a limited lunch hour. Everything I’ve tried has been very good, even the salsa bar(they have this very delicious sour cream-jalapeño sauce that is awesome!). I hadn’t been here for a few years, and just recently took a few friends for lunch; they all rave about it to this day(I always love it when I recommend a new place to someone and they love it…:-)) and they can’t wait to go back. It’s the kind of place that’s like a pearl inside an oyster; it’s in a more industrial side of town; it looks kind of «dive-y» from the outside; and unless someone told you about it, you probably might just drive on by. But don’t! And I love the fact that it has a drive-through; makes getting their delicious food even easier!

Everything I eat here is great! When I’m in the mood for Mexican food I always come here first in west sac! Super great food and the dinning experience is awesome with margaritas under $ 5!!! Win win!

My brother and his wife LOVE this place and are regulars here. I tag along when we decide to go out as they LIKE it so much(and they don’t try ‘new’ /‘different’ places that often — unless I make them). To me this is just a alright place not super special but some things on the menu are pretty good, like the SUPERTACO .(did not see super taco on the menu but pretty sure that’s what I’ve ordered a few times).

Pleasantly Surprised! Appearances can be deceiving. Salsa’s Tacos from the outside looks a bit run down and the drive thru sends the«fast food» average menu message. Could not be further from the truth. Authentic taste and the salsa bar with free chips is fabulous. Homemade tacos and shrimp burrito were fantastic, I have told my friends who live in West Sac to stop in and grab a great meal. Well Done Salsa’s Tacos!!!

A real find. When you go, be adventurous. Try the Lengua and the Adovada Tacos. Particularly the Adovada, it is a spiced pork dish, not hot, that is tasty of the tasties. The closest place that has food this good is Taqueria Hidalgo in Chular, California.

The best Mexican Food in Northern California and the staff of this little mom and pop restaurant are great. Be sure to try the Carne Asada Tacos, they’re the best.

I have been coming here for almost 20 years, since I was a kid. When I have a craving for good authentic Mexican food, this is my go-to place. The parking lot is a bit small but I’ve never had an issue parking. I typically avoid going during common lunch and dinner times anyways. I usually order the same thing and it always comes out hot and ready for me to devour. The salsa bar is adequate and the chips warm and tasty. Staff is friendly and helpful. They have a drive through for the nights when I don’t want to put on adult pants and venture out in my sweats. Great place to eat!

My husband and I love this little place! It’s is small and parking is very limited but the food is always so good. The chicken sopes are the best! Tostadas de ceviche are awesome too! Everything I’ve tried here has been delicious! The portions are good too. They are a bit pricey and that’s why we don’t come here very often. But the food never disappoints!

Came because of a co workers recommendation. She thought this place was great and I just say it is «okay». I got the asada taco and pork tamale combo. The taco is very reminiscent of Jimboys. I love Jimboys too but was expecting something a little more authentic. It is no street taco. Shell is crispy. Meat has some flavor, but not a lot. The tamale had too much sauce and looked /tasted old. Rice and beans were good. They have a chips and salsa bar that is free to patrons who spend at least $ 7.99. Also fountain drinks are only allowed one free refill. Overall it is mediocre. I have had worse(Oscars) but have also had much better(La Rosa) in the area.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Sacramento area! Everything on the menu is great, enchiladas, burritos, tacos, fajitas… Great salsa to go with your chips and entrees. I would recommend this place to everyone!

The food is great! But not consistent. I order the same thing 3 times and it’s always prepared with different ingredients each time. The hot salsa is very mild. My only experience with them is the drive through. They never tell you the total and they aren’t very personal. It’s worth trying, and it’s better than taco bell

Delicious food and great service. If you like chile relleno and menudo it’s a place you should visit if you’re in West Sacramento.

Update: I’m not sure why but the customer service here has gone to complete crap. The food is OKAY, but their service is awful. The son has gone back to school or something and it seems to have now gone down hill. Every time I’ve gone recently something has been wrong with my order(which i don’t notice until i get back to work which is then too late to go back). They are extremely overpriced, which explains why $ 30 did not surprise me when they completely messed up my order today.(For two people).

It’s obvious that Salsa Tacos is going through a cost-cutting phase, and that is not good for the customers. The tacos I had today were very bland, about 80% lettuce with very little meat. They also use a hard-shell tortilla for their tacos, which gives them a Taco Bell /Del Taco flavor. The problem is I can get 4 of those tacos at Del Taco for $ 2.55, but at Salsa Tacos each taco costs $ 2.19. Drinks are also very overpriced, you only get one refill on soft drinks, and they only carry RC Cola, not even Coke or Pepsi. The owner and staff are very nice people, and in the past I’ve had some decent meals here, but things have changed. I will not be returning anytime soon. There are much better options on West Capitol.

I have always said you can tell a good Mexican restaurant by how many Mexican people are eating there and there aren’t any here. Their tacos are $ 2.19 each and the portions are OK. If you want chips and salsa you have to purchase $ 6.99 + tax per person. They do have fresh brewed ice tea, which is why they got two stars from me, however, they have a sign that says you are only allowed 1 refill on soda and iced tea applies. How was the food? I would say the salsa was just OK. They do have a salsa bar with 8 different selections but I’ve had much better salsa. I usually get a steak and a chicken taco and I have the say that these tacos were just OK, I’ve had much better. They were a bit on the bland side and the chicken and steak seemed a bit over cooked making them both dry and lacking flavor. I understand the need to control costs but if the owner did some cost accounting they would probably see that they’re tripping over dollars to pick up nickels on their drink refill policy. I enjoy my iced tea so I will not be coming back to this place.
