Your review helps others learn about great local businesses My husband and I have been here many times and the food is good. The problem that we’ve experienced is that they run out of selections even early on a Friday evening. Twice they’ve run out of a dessert my husband particularly enjoys and quite a few times, they’ve left ingredients off of a menu item that we’ve selected. We only find out that something will not be included(even though it is on the menu) after the waitperson brings us our food. For example, I ordered a salad once when we were there for lunch, and there was no bacon on it. Another time, we ordered the butterscotch dessert but it came without the truffle. If the ingredient is on the menu, it should be on the dish that is prepared for you since we are paying for it.

I often have the same waitress, which goes to show they stay and don’t have high staff turnover. All the food is homemade — even the kids meal. Great place for even just a glass of wine and a cheese tray. Will be back again and again.

Often go here for lunch. Usually pretty busy but not too long a wait. The food is very good. I’ve had dinner here, but prefer lunch. Lots of cheese(nothing wrong with that!).

The food was great and the service was also great! I would love to see lobster Mac and cheese on the menu soon.

The food coma, in which the cooks left me, was, I believe, equivalent to what an astronaut in suspended animation, would experience. I’d give more stars if I could. If you haven’t had this place in your life, I’m sorry, but you are wrong. And need to rectify this egregious oversight immediately.

I had heard about this restaurant from a friend. I was amazed at the menu they offered. Not just the norm, but different menu items that follow the latest trends. They take different flavors and marry them together. We sat across from the kitchen, which looked super clean! How many restaurants let them see the inside of their kitchen? During dinner, the chef came out and spoke to us, what a class act! What a classy place! They also have a section of Cheese offerings for sale out in front.

Love this place! Stopped in last night with two of my girlfriends and we had another great experience. Our service is always excellent and Sherry was great last night! So friendly and knowledgable about the menu. We will definitely continue to come back and recommend Say Cheese to anyone who is in the area. Thanks for great food, service and environment!

Completely blown away by this adorable little treasure of a place! Not the typical Reading vibe you usually get. Service was phenomenal, very attentive and friendly. Didn’t feel rushed at all. The décor makes you feel like you’re in Center City, Philly! A bit on the pricier side but they totally make up for it by the amount of food you get. Food was superb. Got the salmon Mac & cheese and I was stuffed! Also love that most of their alcoholic drink selection is PA local. Definitely try the cranberry cider! It’s to die for. I will be recommending this to ALL of my friends! Such a perfect little place.

This place is not just sandwiches and cheese. Like Duck Fries? Lamb? Say Cheese has an eclectic menu with something for everyone. I started today with the Not your Mamas Deviled Eggs. Yup nothing like it. More like a sushi appetizer with little roe eggs on top of wasabi laced filling. Just delicious! Try the Duck BKT. Duck breast with bacon sautéed kale fried tomato and a cranberry condiment that’s nuts good. I could have had the pear and Gorgonzola salad alone and been more than quite happy. New favorite place. We will be back!!!

My girlfriend and I were lucky enough to get reservations on a Saturday night and were granted our request for a quiet table. Our server, Danielle, was warm and welcoming from the start, and proved to be quite charming and helpful throughout our meal. Indeed, all the staff we encountered were polite and friendly, including the chef, who came out to greet us all. For drinks, we tried the cider with apple pie spice moonshine and rum caramel added(per Daniellle’s excellent recommendation) and the amazing and refreshing pear mojito. As our appetizer, we shared the cheese curds. Our request for plain cheese curds instead of half jalapeño was cheerfully accommodated. Definitely the best cheese curds we have had anywhere to date, with delicious house made marinara and fresh arugula. The Moroccan butternut squash soup surprised us with its well-balanced curry flavor and generous portion of pistachios and cranberries. Hearty and delightful. Our main course was the crispy buttermilk chicken and pumpkin ravioli. Words fail to describe the marriage of sweet and savory in this dish. The sauce and reduction accompanied the decadent pasta and tender chicken perfectly. Roasted yellow grape tomatoes, baby Brussels sprouts, and crimini mushrooms enhanced the entrée even more. This is something we’d order over and over again. Finding room for dessert was a challenge, but we couldn’t pass up the ridiculously-sized passion fruit bread pudding or the coconut mango panna cotta-esque confection(with raspberry coulis and black sesame brittle). We were not disappointed. Although we did have to take the majority of our dessert home with us. The post-Say Cheese food coma was beyond worth it. We can’t wait to return.

(11⁄100) Allow me to paint the picture for you. It’s Sunday morning. My friend, Monique, and I decide we should get some breakfast. We attempt to try the Tomcat Café. Too bad it’s over an hour’s wait for a table. We decide to try a Taste Of Crepes instead. We can’t even enter the building, that’s how cramped it is. We walk down the street and I ask her if she’d like to try Say Cheese! I’m so glad we dined here. Say Cheese! is a beautiful and spacious restaurant in Reading. The décor is very modern and I loved the open kitchen. I couldn’t stop looking around and admiring the beautifully designed space. We sat at a small table and were instantly greeted by our waitress. She asked us what we wanted to drink and came back with our beverages immediately. They were served in cute mason jars. Everything on the menu sounded delicious. We decided to get two different entrees so that we would be able to share. Monique chose the chicken and waffles; I decided to go with the eggs benedict. While both meals were delicious, Monique definitely picked the winner. I’ve never had chicken and waffles before. Say Cheese! definitely set the bar extremely high! Everything about this meal was perfection. Not only was the chicken crispy on the outside, but it was tender and juicy on the inside. They seasoned it so perfectly and they gave you nice, big pieces of chicken as well. The waffle was crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and the syrup(requested on the side) really pulled the dish together. The eggs benedict was good but there was a few things I would have tweaked. The dish was accompanied with a side of fingerling potatoes. I wasn’t really a fan of the potatoes, I wish that it had been served with hash browns instead. Also, I wish the bacon had been a little more crispy. However, it was really good. The combination of the toasted brioche bun with the runny yolk of the egg and the hollandaise sauce was lovely. After we ate we walked over to the front of the store that had items that you could purchase. They had a small table in the middle with free samples of two different kind of cheeses and a pickle. I think that this would be a great place for a number of different special events such as a bridal shower. I’d definitely recommend Say Cheese! to others and I can’t wait to come back.

Cute, clean place to grab some great food and drinks. The four cheese mac and cheese is one of my favorites from their menu. Couple that with one of their classic style sodas and your taste buds will be sure to thank you. Their staff is always great at bringing out your food in a timely manner and they’re really friendly folks. I’m sure if you browse around the menu that you’ll find something your going to like here. Pricing is moderate and depending on what you get expect to pay about $ 10.00 for a meal. Worth your attention in my opinion, give it a try!

My boyfriend and I are visiting from jersey. I’m a huge cheese person so this caught my attention immediately. The second you walk in it feels comfortable, artisanal. I had the duck fries which were beyond savory. The pickled onions on top cut the taste in between and were a perfect topping. I enjoyed a their caramel apple cider which is perfectly mixed. My boyfriend enjoyed a pick 2 of their house salad and Mac n cheese which surprisingly came with a side of French fries. Great prices as well. The hostess didn’t seem happy to be there. She didn’t even tell us to follow her to our seats. However our waitress, Ellen, made up for it. She was super sweet and made sure everything was right.

As we explore the dining establishments of our new home we are taking note of places to return. This is one of them! Love the setting and the fact you can buy cheese and sample their cheese wares in the dining room. The name of the place suggests it might be pizza — it is anything but! Like the simple décor and vibe. Service was friendly and efficient. The hubbie had his old stand by – Mac and Cheese — and declared it delightful. Very rich and oozing the a variety of cheese. I started with a Caesar Salad and had one of their specials of the evening — chicken. The veggies were fab as was the chicken. Say Cheese is an unexpected delight of West Reading and we look forward to a return visit.

Awesome, awesome, awesome. I was in PA for work and happened upon this place while looking for lunch options. It’s a restaurant/cheese shop right in West Reading. First, the staff was very friendly. That’s always a good sign, and even more important when you’re an out-of-towner. More importantly, the food was great. I had the fried chicken sandwich, which had great flavor between the breading, barbecue sauce and cheese. It was a nice combo of smoky and sweet. The chips were crisp and not overly salted. I also had a chance to sample some of the cheeses — would have bought some if I had a way to store them in the car! Overall it was a great experience and I’ll return the next time I’m in the area.

I would have loved to give this cute little place 5 stars, but there were a few tiny details keeping it from perfection. We had reservations for 6pm and arrived a tad early. Our first impression was that the place was quaint with cute décor. I really liked the small cheese shop, so we took a few moments to browse around. There’s a nice variety of cheese, crackers, honey, vinegars, oils, tea, and much more. There was a few items out for sampling and everything was very yummy. After browsing, we were seated in a small section overlooking the street, which was nice. Our waitress, whose name I forget was kind and informative. The service seemed like it would be excellent. To start we ordered some local nonalcoholic beverages. My husband ordered the frickles(despite my reluctance– I wanted the cheese curds!). They are homemade pickles which are tempura battered and served with creamy sriracha dipping sauce. My husband did not want the curds due to the dipping sauce(marinara) which I agreed was a poor option, but still. He loved the fried pickles. I liked them, but felt they needed some seasoning in the batter. The dipping sauce was excellent, however. Next I had a cup of soup. It was a special, potato cheese, with a crunchy sweet potato topping. The soup was perfect. I loved it. BUT, we didn’t get our bread and olive oil until now, and my pet peeve… my entrée was brought out while I was still enjoying my soup. It was at this point things started to drop to 4 stars. My entrée was smaller than expected. Granted, since it was made to order, I was able to get the ricotta gnocchi without the speck. Now, either the entrée is small, or it is small without the speck. If the latter, I would have expected a restaurant like this to bulk it up a tad with more veggies and/or gnocchi, or to lessen the cost. On a positive note, it was delicious, but lacking salt. I should note that I finished my entire entrée after the soup, which I can never do. My husband got the salmon Mac and cheese and enjoyed his meal. He especially liked the way they complimented each other. Finally, since it was my birthday dinner, I ordered some cheesecake. Wow, was that good! Their dessert menu was awesome. It was hard to pick only one item. As we left we purchased some tea and chocolate from the shop as well. Overall, great food, lacking a little salt. Service was spotty, but it could have been a bad day. Exciting selection of food that’s all prepared in house. I’d love to try more items and hopefully be able to rate 5 stars in the future.

Went here just for a light lunch and wasn’t disappointed in the slightest! I ordered the French onion soup and my dear friend ordered the zucchini house special. My soup was fantastic, covered in delicious cheese, and the perfect temperature. We both ordered a ginger beer to go along with and were happy as could be! Lovely restaurant, attentive service and amazing food!
