I ordered from here through delivery dudes. The steak had awesome flavor but it definitely need to be cooked more. The shrimp and bay scallops bruschetta was good but the scallops where micro sized. Mozzarella sticks are good. Chicken fingers where good. Not bad overall.

Great place for lunch! I have been many times and the food and service are consistent. They now offer lunch specials which is great and they have some craft beers on tap.

Holy Don Johnson! I am not sure if it is intentional or not(I hope so), but this place is a total 80’s throw-back theme. Pastel pink and blue neon«sculptures», straight outta Miami Vice. I expected Crocket & Tubbs posters to be on the wall. Anyway, they have a large draft list, though nothing very special. Tons of macro-brew and the standard craft brands that are found anywhere. The food, while not bad, was very underwhelming. Just your basic deep fried bar food and sandwiches. Too expensive for what it is. The atmosphere; seems like a place where local middle age guys hang out and reminisce about their«glory days» on the high school football team. Sad.

Stopped in for lunch the other day. I have had lunch here several times and overall the food is good, sometimes creative with good service. However, on this visit I ordered a sandwich special(basically braised beef with a nice plum sauce) which although tasty, it must have been cut expenses day in the kitchen as it came out with about 2 oz of beef on a very large bun and a sprinkling of fries. The Rueben was better but both could have been filled out much better,

Great great burgers, I’d say five stars but it was a little over medium as I ordered but still so tender and juicy. I had the café burger with added Swiss cheese, awesome!

I have never been waited on so quickly. The food was delicious, but parking for this place is a little hard to find. The specials are a great way to try something new and get a great deal. One of the best places to eat in Reading.

Came to this place for the first time. Some family referred this place. Pros were: Indoor/outdoor seating Food Drinks Lighting Prices The only con I could find was the service. Our waitress seemed like she wasn’t interested or happy to serve us even though we still tipped well. She didn’t smile. Barely said hello. Or even bye. I’m not gonna bash her because she could have been having a bad night or even they could have been short staffed. Regardless, communicate with your table and let them know. It’s ok. No matter what the situation is, smile and say hello. The 4 stars are for the food only!

If this a sports bar, why wouldn’t you play the sports audio? I called before to verify the Stanley Cup was on. The woman on the phone verified it was on in the bar. I walked over to watch the game. I arrived and the bar is playing satellite 80’s music. I asked if they could play the game Audio and was told no. I left before intermission was over. Overall, I was disappointed with the lack of friendliness of the staff. I said hello to when outside before walking in and the waitress looked at me like I was insane for being friendly and never acknowledged me(other than looking at me), and the bartender just was not very friendly. I know the Flyers are not in the cup, but this is still a final playoff game. This isn’t a golf game. I will not return to this bar. I was not impressed. For the good, the beer was cold and tasted clean.

3rd and Spruce has a little bit for everyone. It’s great for casual diners, barflies, sports fans, and everyone in between. As you walk in, you’re greeted by a large, rectangular bar with satellite high tops strewn on the outskirts. Towards the back is the dining room. The ceiling is very high, so the whole atmosphere feels very open and non-obtrusive. It’s amazing what a high ceiling can do for the claustrophobic. Even if you’re standing shoulder to shoulder at the bar, 3rd and Spruce still feels overly spacious. Servers are attentive, the menu concise, and the TVs plentiful. For sports fans, you’ll always be able to catch the game. For those who feel TVs can be distracting, they are placed high enough on the walls that you can go without noticing them if you wish. Whether it’s the beginning of the night, the end of the night, or just THE night in general, you’ll always enjoy your time at The Spruce.

Great ambience, great food, and great service. The variety of the menu is good. Beer is always cold and refreshing. The prices are very reasonable and you get a lot of food for the price. Everything is tasty!

Third & Spruce is your basic bar fare with an uplifted vibe. The bar has notable choices in the menu that are original to the establishment. I can suggest the greek salad if you want greek style romaine dominant salad. The flavor is good though. It is not authentic greek style salad however. The atmosphere is open and has a sports bar feel. When you walk in the front doors, there is a two story area with the bar in the center. There are many screens to view what’s on the air for sports viewing. There is a ground floor and upstairs seating that overlooks the ground floor and bar. Third & Spruce has a low-lighted atmosphere, perfect for a first date or a date in general. It is also good for sports entertainment and meet ups. Third & Spruce is located a little past the Railroad House and there is a parking lot.

The food was okay. I got the tavern burger. The bun was significantly smaller than the patty, so it was kinda hard to eat. The waiter checked up on us maybe one and we had to ask to get refills. We sat there with our check for 10 minutes before she came and got them.

We came here based on all the positive reviews while visiting from out of state. Finally! We’re happy to say that the local Unilocal reviewers aren’t just blowing smoke when it comes to their praise of this place. We had a large party, and everyone enjoyed their meals. The menu was inspired, and the specials were as well. Service was very good, and the décor in the bathrooms are a hoot! Eating outside made the experience even better. We’d definitely come back if in the area.

We decided to go to 3rd and Spruce because it is right around the corner from my house. My best friend was visiting from Florida and we wanted a good meal and some good beer. We walked to the restaurant and were promptly seated. We ordered some drafts beers from a nice selection of craft brews and looked at the menu. I decided to get the wings for the appetizer to make my own burger, I selected the toppings I wanted and placed my order. The wings came out and were well dressed, not swimming in hot sauce and not under coated. The chicken was still juicy and had a well cooked crispy coating. I couldn’t stop eating them. My burger arrived and it was perfectly cooked medium rare the way I like it. The outside was nicely grilled while the inside was a beautiful pink. The flavor of the meat can only be described as quality beef. The roll was a nice consistency, not doughy, dense and dry, but just right where it absorbed some of the burgers natural juices without disintegrating. The fries were also just as good. Well cooked not greasy or oily, seasoned well and I love the fact that they are shoe string cut. Everything was delicious and my friend was impressed. It’s always a great place to go to for a quick bite, a cold beer, or to catch a game.

Went here recently on a rainy Saturday night with my dad. Plopped down at 2 seats at the bar & were greeted warmly by the bartender(I believe his name was Chris). We decided on a pitcher of Lagunitas IPA(reg. 14.75). It was just before the end of happy hour, so the bartender was kind enough to let us know that it was $ 3 off of the pitcher, making it a great deal. I like the open concept of this place — the bar isn’t separated or closed in. Some cool artwork on the wall — & plenty of tvs, which I’m personally not a fan of — but there were definitely a bunch of people watching them. The real disappointment here was the food. Man oh man, I don’t get some of the reviews here. We ordered a bunch of things to share: white pizza, 3rd& Spruce salad, & nachos with chicken. White pizza — cheese was flavorless, dough was undercooked. Nachos — fake(liquid) cheese & guacamole. Also fake chicken. It was like … that«pre-cooked» purdue stuff you can get in the supermarket. I swear. Salad — mozzarella balls on the pizza were also flavorless. Lettuce was the best part, dressing was pretty good. Chicken was the same, fake-looking meat that was on the nachos. I will come back here if I’m in the Reading area, but I probably will not order food.

I ate here for dinner tonight and it was absolutely delicious. I had the 8 oz. filet and it was perfectly cooked(medium) and seasoned. So far its the best meal I’ve had in Reading — well worth a visit.

I still love coming here any chance I get. My new favorite(more like mild obsession) is the Spruce Filet Sandwich. It’s a decently-sized filet, topped with grilled onions, served on a bun with a side of HORSEYSAUCE(omg) and fries. Horsey sauce is the key … it’s like horseradish blended with cream and is an addicting dipping sauce for the fries(which are always perfectly cooked). I know another reviewer didn’t like the bruschetta, but that’s one of my favorite dishes. I love the tomato/balsalmic topping, and that I can scoop it onto the bread myself. I’ve gotten this appetizer as a meal on many occasions. Service continues to be amazing. Todd and Chris rock — they’re super attentive, efficient, and nice. I’m not a big drinker and they’ve gone out of their way to make recommendations for drinks I’d like, or to modify drinks to suit my tastes. I guess I should mention that I continue to be very unimpressed with the desserts here. I’ve tried about six at this point, and really have no desire ever to order dessert here agin. They’ve all been either too rich or too bland or just blah. And I’m not usually picky when it comes to dessert!

Walked down here for a quick bite to eat since it was the closest thing to the hospital open for dinner that was outside the hospital. I wasn’t looking for a ton of food, so I ordered one of the appetizer specials — the scallop and chorizo dip. It came out after about 20 minutes bubbling in its dish with a bunch of toasted baguette slices and looked/smelled fantastic. After I started into it, I realized how much oil there was in the dish. When the dip had been eaten, there was about a half inch of oil left in the bottom of the dish. The dip itself seems to have been mostly cheese and the most mild chorizo ever — there was no spice to the dish, and not much in the way of scallops. There were other things being eaten around me that looked like they may have been better picks, so I’m certainly willing to give this place another shot. For a sports bar, the beer selection isn’t bad — a number of larger microbrews on tap in addition to the regulars. 3rd and Spruce, we shall meet again.
