My new favorite place! The steak is great! i wasn’t a fan of the sangria; meanwhile everyone was drinking it like it was holy water; must of just been me. But the food is great, and it had a happening night life.

Churrasco is good. Ordered delivery today. When the bag was handed to me, it was leaking. My filled tostones were super bland, and the shrimp had no seasoning. Food was not great. New owners? This used to be my favorite place.

Great churrasco, good prices, fast service. One of the cons is definitely parking! You will also leave smelling like your meal — but it’s worth it!

After a double shift at work with no food in the fridge, this is the go-to spot in North Bergen/Union City area. Ridiculously big portions for crazy cheap food. I have been here after work, and even if this place gets busy during late hours, I don’t have to wait too long for my order. Gotta love this place; it feeds me well! They are known for the Churrasco, but don’t forget to try their Oxtail and Beef dishes! And ask for some picante to go. You’re welcome :)

I’m going to give them 1 star on the Cappuccino. Thy don’t make real cappuccino, they make something with wipe cream and added powder sugar. Thumbs down on this. Orange juice, I was expecting a natural squeezed orange juice. I did get that, with added water and I’m willing to bet that they added sugar as well. Food was just less than decent, I guess in conclusion. If you don’t know how to cook or make something right then why bother.

This restaurant doesn’t even deserve a 1 rate star, my boyfriend & I ordered food(DELIVERY) and when we received this order of Skirt steak /white rice /black beans & an appetizer of shrimp(which I’m allergic) the bag came with all the juices combined inside the plastic bag & also was missing the bread that goes with the shrimp appetizer. The restaurant charged my $ 43.00, did I receive a $ 43 dollar meal presentation(NO). I called the restaurant to explain to the manager that I’m paying $ 43 dollars for my food to be presentable & available to eat(please know I ordered late 8:30pm) 45 minutes to get to my place(delivery guy got here at 9:45pm) The MANAGER said its not our fault, we won’t refund your money or exchange it, it’s the delivery mans fault. So let me get get this straight I said to the manager: you don’t hire the delivery man, this isn’t your responsibility. He said no!!! I worked at restaurants, your customers are the most important part of the business! I wanted a presented & eatable meal for $ 43 dollars. Worst experience ever, don’t get deliveries !!!

The west New York area has multiple underrated really good Cuban restaurants, however if you are looking for the best and authentic look no further. Las Palmas reminds me of my childhood and visiting my Cuban godparents for dinner. I came here on a Thursday night and it was packed yet we still managed to find some seats. My husband ordered the blood sausage which he enjoyed. For entrée we ordered the churrasco to share. The steak was juicy, full of amazing flavor and cooked to perfection. We also ordered sides of white rice, black beans and fried Plantain chips. The Plantain chips were delicious and an excellent compliment to the rice and steak. The only warming I have for this place is that the food is heavy if you are not use to eating this way. Personally its one of those restaurant I can not go more than twice a year but boy is it absolutely delicious and worth it.

Bergenline is inundated with good spanish cuisine however if you want GREAT, you need to try Las Palmas! What I love about Las Palmas is that it is bi-level. The main entrance takes you into the casual, every day, your mom and pops, restaurant. It doesn’t look very appealing if you’re on a hot date but do not fear. Once you go upstairs, it’s a completely different vibe. It’s a spacious layout and quite the perfect ambiance for a nice intimate date with lovers, friends, or family. Sometimes they have a live band playing to entertain guests. There’s also a long bar upon entering which is fully stocked. The upstairs however is only opened on weekends so I suggest calling in advance just to be sure. Las Palmas is known for their amazing churrasco steak. The small one is $ 19 and it is huge. The steak is thick and tender and cooked to perfection(depending on how you like it). It comes with a side of your choice. There’s plenty of options to choose from but I always order the white rice with black beans. The best part about this order is that it comes with 3 different sauces. I love sauces and condiments so I was really excited to try all 3. They have a garlic sauce, a spicy salsa, and the a lemon-line cilantro sauce. For the appetizer, I recommend the shrimp on tostones. The juice over the tostones is perfection. The shrimp in garlic sauce is amazing as well. Don’t forget to order the pitcher of sangria with your meal. Las Palmas is a hidden gem located on Bergenline. The staff is super friendly and super attentive. They deserve the 5 star.

Came here for an early dinner. Ordered the chicharon for an appetizer and for the entrée we ordered churrasco, short ribs, moro, vegetables(the portions were pretty big) and a bottle of cabernet. Our waitress Adrianna was the best! This made for a great experience to eat here. The steaks came out sizzling and was cooked to perfection. We had flan for dessert which was a nice ending to our meal. We will definitely be back(the breakfast menu looked good)! Tip: there is street parking but also free indoor parking at the back of the restaurant. They also have their own supermarket next door.

Came here from Boston. we had a late dinner night. It was very good food and service. We went to second floor, so this review is based on it only, no the first floor. Some dishes seems to be little pricey but steaks were good!

Horrible experience. Probably the worse waiter I have ever had. After waiting 20 minutes for him to take our order his excuse was this is not MC Donald’s, he only had 4 tables!!! Food is overprice and very low quality. Even the cashier had an attitude when we paid. Worst dining experience ever. This place doesn’t even deserve 1 star.

I use to order the chicken over a flame with a side of avocado salad. At first the cook wasn’t happy when I told him that I wanted it over a flame and not on a grill. My son loves the rice and beans. The place is always super packed. I do have two issues but can’t hold the restaurant responsible for the first, it’s so loud in there you can’t even hear and have to scream. I’ve been there 30 times in the past 7 years and it’s never been quiet. If loud and crazy isn’t your cup of tea than this place isn’t for you. THEBIGGESTSETBACK is they seem to take better care of their guests who are latin and speak Spanish. I know this may sound crazy but it’s true. I go in there all white and speaking English and I’m avoided. I’ve seen people helped before me that came after. Once I let them know I speak Spanish(I have to living in Union City) they think I’m Cubana because of my eyes and they immediately take care of me quickly. This has happened 5 out of the 7 times. I didn’t want to make such an accusation so I waited 7 times to see if it happened. The lady who speaks English and always attentive is pregnant so I won’t go back for 9 months because I feel someone there should speak English. Someone at least one person. The cook, short old guy on the grill isn’t friendly either, he had some choice words to say until he realized I spoke Spanish. I’m in a service industry as well so I won’t fault the establishment for his lack of service.

Since everyone here is Spanish or Hispanic. I predicted a very good meal and my high expectations were met. — Churrasco is hugeeee. Actually, all their entrees are huge and can easily become 2 meals. At like $ 26 or so, it feels like that’s how much I would have to pay to get raw churrasco from a grocery store. — I think the churrasco comes with rice and beans(hugeeeee portion) — The short ribs were pretty massive as well. and just $ 16! — Love their sauce platter. There’s like a green chimichurri one, garlic one, and tomato one. I can’t really remember what’s in them but they were all yummy. They offer a great vinegary contrast to the steak when you want to switch it up, which is nice. Credit cards accepted. Felt a bit neglected. probably cause they have a lot of regulars, or maybe they treat their people better. Who knows, who cares. I’d come back again for the food.

I have been to Las Palmas a few times. The cuban food served at this establishment is always wonderful. The churrasco is quite large, and of course made to order. The service is quick as is expected. Take out is also easy! This is definitely a spot that locals, and people that are from Hudson County frequent often. You will always find a good meal at a decent price here.

My favorite Cuban food after my Mother’s and Abuela. This review is solely for the food. I’ve had a lot of it as I have been coming here for years and have tried a lot of it. Let me start by saying they make the best churrasco ever. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. It is served on a hot skillet and comes in two sizes. Small and large. The small is HUGE and I have never been able to eat the whole thing. I would get the large if wanted to split with someone. It is easily enough for two. Black beans, congri, platanos maduros, ropa vieja, Cuban sandwiches, media noches, yuca, croquetas, batidos, all of it is delicious. Their café con leche is the perfect. I limit myself to two cups only but I really want five. Do yourselves a favor and come here and eat!

There is no better churrasco anywhere than here. Trust me on this one. There is not enough room in this box to tell you what is delicious here — because everything is! Downstairs is cafeteria style and upstairs is more upscale… but no matter where you are eating… it’s consistently great food. But can we talk about the churrasco again?(Aka skirt steak for the non Hispanics) It is perfect. And even the small one is HUGE. So is the rice and black beans… And the tostones rellenos… OMG. Worth breaking any diet for. I won’t even get started on the sangria because I may just get in the car and drive there to get some LOL. They offer red and white and I favor the white but both are so so good. I grew up in a family of Cuban restaurant owners. Given the choice between eating at my uncle’s place where I could eat for free, or eat at Las Palmas… I would choose Las Palmas. It’s that good!

RIPOFF. They have s huge sign in the window that says lunch special $ 4.99 between 11:00 — 4:00pm. I sent Max together two lunch specials, they charged him $ 5.99 plus tax and are suggesting that you leave a tip of 18% for a take out lunch. Asked the manager about the discrepancy he Scruggs his shoulders and murmured we need to change the sign. How about taking it down schmuck? Mediocre salty food. First and last time for me.

This is a terrific chow down joint — bring your appetite! The churrasco(grilled/marinated skirt steak) is the thing to get, especially during lunch time when the pricing is ridiculously reasonable. Lunch or dinner, the portions are simply gigundous! Backed up by black beans, rice, assorted spicy and garlicky condiments and killer mojito’s — this place is a carnivores dream! Did I say that the pricing is reasonable too?

This is officially my favorite restaurant. If I was on death row, and was asked what I wanted for my final meal it would be my mothers meatballs and stuffed shells and Skirt steak from las palmas. This is a serious situation here. First off, I have never finished the baby skirt steak. On the menu for $ 23.00 I have yet to finish it and always have skirt steak for dinner the next day. White rice and black beans with tostones, sweet plantanos, and then the chicarrones. Chicarrones can be eaten many ways. Plain, with salt, lime, I’ve seen people eat them with ketchup. But this place makes them the best! Hands down!

The food is good, but at the end we were overcharged. After making the correction they overcharged on one credit card, and one day later I check my account and I had been charged twice by different amounts so far as I’m concerned it would never come back because they really want to steal.
