Had chicken fingers and fries, excellent! Crunchy, tasty yum! Only problem is is takes way too long to get a waitress, they apologize, to everyone, it seems part of the game. Not a lunch destination if you only get an hour, took 50 minutes to get the food. Had to flag down the waitress for more drinks, she checked on us, oh, never. The waitress at the other table was with her customers very frequently. Apparently our waitress doesn’t like tips!

First I’ve been to Cheddars in Orlando. Both of them. I came in knowing it would be a wait. However I come graciously, because my mom has an problem where she can’t eat sodium, or any preservatives so this has become our to go restaurant for family outings. We got seated and ordered, because we were tired from a long day. We order and repeatedly ask the waiter that nothing is put on her steak. She wanted it plain. That’s the only way she can eat it. When we got it, the steak was covered with seasoning. We asked for a new one, because we didn’t want any seasoning. It has never been an issue at any of the other ones we’ve been to. So after much arguing they take it back. Then they bring it back the waiter hovers above us to make sure to okay. After we waive him off we realize it’s the same steak but that it was flipped over. Her plate was cold, how did you think we wouldn’t notice? Because of this carelessness we could have spent a night in the hospital. On top of that I ordered a Painkiller which is my favorite drink there, it tasted like pure alcohol. No fruity flavor like I was used to. I said nothing because of how understaffed/busy. I feel like they have things to work out. Some lady came at us by the time we were done and kind of shouted over us and asked if everything was okay?! It wasn’t, but what were we going to do? Complain? Such bad service, I’m so heart broken.

Tried Cheddar’s for the first time May 29th. I do NOT get the hype. The food was Ok. That’s about it. Nothing amazing. Nothing exciting or different on the menu. It was just run of the mill chain restaurant food. Our waiter was nice the manager that was running the front desk was genuinely nice… Not faulting the service at all. They were slow because of the holiday so our order took a while. I had the chicken tenders everyone raves about… They were cold by the time I got them and they weren’t that great to begin with flavor wise. My dog seemed enjoy the leftovers(I had 2 tenders I didn’t eat)… But she raids the litter box so you can form your own opinion on her palette. My sons burger was like any other and they didn’t give many fries. The croissants were alright but not enough to make me want to ever go back. So curiosity was satisfied… Now I never have to return.

The star is for the spinach dip. It was actually the only thing that was good. We were there this past sunday and it was horrible. It wasnt busy but the service was way too slow. They seemed overstaffed and yet no one looked like they knew what they were doing. They were either standing around talking or running around frantic but aimlessly. This used to be our favorite place… But not anymore :(Everything used to be really good. Now the food and the service were both pretty bad. The food came out cold. The biscuits were burnt and hard and the few fries we were given were dried up and stale and looked like they came off the floor or from someone elses leftovers. We were really disappointed and will not be going back. :(

Currently sitting here… Been sitting here… It’s been 20 minutes still no soda and water. No utensils… Kind of in shock. What is going on cheddars? Update the manager sent us some gift certificates in the mail which was very nice. I am however not updating the review because I think people should know what has gone on.

To some, Cheddar’s seems like a restaurant that comes off as a local favorite. It is always packed, the food gets major praise, and the rate of customers returning is high. However, it is actually a chain based out of Texas. They’ve just grown a lot within the last decade. That fact that«backwoods» Melbourne, Florida has one shows just how quickly the area is growing. This review will be based on my experience after Cheddar’s went through its rebrand. Before, Cheddar’s had the subtext of a «Casual Café.» Now it is known as a «Scratch Kitchen» because they want to emphasize all their food is made from scratch. This rebrand also caused Cheddar’s to re-evaluate their menu. Before, the menu was… well… a typical, multi-page menu. Now it is just a front-and-back page. By making their menu smaller, they are concentrating on what is popular while cutting back on waste. Smart if you ask me. Still, patrons are far more interested in the experience than business practices. Ergo, I came in on a Monday with three of my friends during lunch. Since Cheddar’s has been around for some time now, the rushes have stabilized to the point it isn’t overly packed all the time making it quick for us to be seated and get our basic drink orders. After we looked through the menu, we ordered appetizers, main meals, and one of my friends ordered alcohol. Kind of early to be drinking booze at lunchtime, but it is his choice. The booze and appetizers, a quesadilla and warm croissants, came out decently quick given the fact they were made from scratch. Our meals took a bit more time but when they came out, they mostly looked nice. I will stress that with the scratch menu, meals rotate and change depending on ingredients available during season. This means certain meals can be a hit or a miss. My «fork and knife» chicken sandwich was a bit of a miss because it was too convoluted to enjoy and there was far too much buffalo sauce that did not mesh well with the biscuit and other sandwich ingredients. The fish and chicken lunches looked good though. Finally, I ordered dessert which I shared with a friend. We both got the strawberry shortcake and triple chocolate cake shots(cakes baked in shot glasses). The price for them were cheap($ 1.50) and they were both good. We could have gotten the third shot, key lime pie, but that is usually a staple here in Florida that even Walmart can get the recipe right. Ultimately, the experience was lacking. It is evident that Cheddar’s lost a bit of their luster when they changed from«casual café» to «scratch kitchen.» Personally, I would have given this restaurant just two stars but our waiter was phenomenal. He took the time to answer questions, was extremely friendly, and kept his composure when my other friends were foolhardy like demanding he put their food in to-go boxes. I understand a request, but a demand? Seriously?! I will be nice however and say I will give this restaurant another chance. I consider Cheddar’s «scratch kitchen» rebrand as making it a brand new restaurant to an extent. Maybe when they get everything down par(and I don’t eat with debilitating company), the rating will go up.

Cheddars cooks everything from scratch and all prices are reasonable!!! 3:30 on a Friday Afternoon Zach gave superb service! I asked for the manager when leaving and complimented him. He was awesome! I couldn’t figure out what to have– so Zach suggested the potato soup which he was on point with! YUMMO! Still couldn’t figure out what to order– so tried the vege plate for $ 7.29 with choice of 4 entrees. Carb heaven– Mac and cheese *** Broccoli cheese casserole *** broccoli *** RED Beans and rice! ***** AMAZING the red beans and rice has the perfect amount of spice with yummy sausage in it. It also comes with one honey butter croissant, which I asked Zach to please package up for me to take to my Mommy in the hospital which he kindly did with a bonus one. I had an Arnold Palmer which Zach refilled several times without request oh and a yummy garden salad. Total damage to my pocket was around $ 15 for all of that and change– but Zach was so awesome he got tipped very generously! I will be stopping there again soon. Would love to see more of Cheddar’s!

I have always questioned how their business model is feasible with food so cheap and so good, but they sure do pull it off every time. It is always packed in there, but it is so worth it. My favorite thing to get is the buffalo chicken wrappers, the best! But you cant go wrong with the loaded baked potatoe soup, new orleans pasta, chicken tenders, or chips and queso. If you see a long line do not second guess stopping in and waiting, it is a good find of a eatery.

The food here is not great at all. I had the 8 Oz steak with broccoli and a baked potato. It was low quality meat and it wasn’t seasoned or grilled well. They didn’t have the baked potatoes ready with the meals and ended coming out when we were almost done. My friend had the lasagna(i didn’t try it) but it was made with spaghetti inside and did not look appetizing at all. To drink, I had the frozen strawberry margarita which was good and cheap. Overall the food looks better than it tastes. I personally wouldn’t select to come back here. P. S. this has nothing to do with my rating but their lamps are really low and in really bad positions(right above chairs)… I’m 5’7 and I hit my head pretty hard when I got up from my seat.

Outside of the wait, usually 10mins(which is well with it), this place is great! Only down side is they don’t do reservations, so there tends to always be a short wait. If you don’t mind waiting a few, prepare yourself for a delicious meal. The staff is couturier and knowledgeable, as well as attentive. The menu is full of plenty of things to try, so no disappointment there either. And the prices are amazing for the amount and quality of food you are getting.

I gave this place two chances, a few years apart with hopes that it improved and I decided that I will never, ever come here again. My first experience was a nightmare after the server took an hour to bring our food out for my mother’s birthday. I asked if a piece of cake or other dessert would be possible and she said«yea, but we have to charge for that»…umm I didn’t ask about the price because I am capable of paying for it. Whatever. The waitress brought some cake with whipped cream and a cherry but the cherry fell on the table and the server used her BAREHANDS to pick it up ANDTHENPUTTHEBLOODYCHERRYBACKONTHECAKE. I was irate but I didn’t react like my typical Caribbean self and sent it back. The second time… lord have mercy. I didn’t really have a choice in going because my fiancé’s side of the family wanted to go. It was a large group of 12 – 15 people and my salmon order did not come out when everyone else’s food came out. The server said she put it in but the kitchen did not make it… why me? At this point I’m super annoyed, hangry(hungry and angry) and pissed off because we had to wait 1 hour and 45 minutes to be seated. My food eventually came out and the lead chef came out and apologized… the waitress was very apologetic as well. The manager took the order off the bill but I was extremely hungry, annoyed and embarrassed. Definitely won’t be returning to Cheddars in Melbourne. If I’m in the mood, I MIGHT check out the Atlanta location. Oh and there was no soap in the bathroom. Hygiene should not be compromised under any circumstances… busy or not, there needs to be soap in restaurants bathroom at ALL times. F–

First visit after wanting to stop many time. It was the holiday season and we expected a long wait but were seated immediately at the height of the dinner service. Our waitress was very nice and explained the menu to us and highlighted a few items. We tried a couple of appetizers on her recommendation and they were both very good. The cheese bites and chicken tenders were the two and they were very pleasing. The main courses were well done, seasoned properly and served promptly. No room for dessert after two apps, but maybe next time. We’ll defiantly stop by again, I’m eager to try some of their sandwich lunch offereings, I’ll update after that visit…

Cheddars is a great choice for a nice, sit down dinner for only a fraction of the cost of other chain restaurants. We go just for their delicious onion rings. They’re hand breaded, fried crispy, and come with a side of ranch and Cajun dressing. Not to mention, they come as a huge, stacked portion and are only about $ 5!

They are rude about the wait. They told us 30 minutes but after an hour they are rude when we ask about the wait. Well I insisted on speaking to «the manager above you» when the little girl at the front reception desk claimed to me she was the manager, and we finally got seated in two separate booths. Then they messed up the orders… Then completely forgot my daughters order and the croissants ordered… Then I had to go to the bathroom and it stunk! And they were out of soap to wash your hands… It may sound like I’m just being a complainer but I’m not! The food was certainly very yummy. The young waitress needed more training but she was SWEET. They were more than willing to comp the food that we got late but we just wanted to eat! It was quite the three hour experience– granted it was a busy Saturday night and I know MOST of the staff was trying hard.

The family and I had an enjoyable dinner here at Cheddar’s. I didn’t really want to go to a Cheddar’s for dinner. I’ve never liked cheddar cheese. All I knew about this place was that it was a chain restaurant with locations in Florida, Texas, and a couple other states. But, I was overruled by a hungry wife and daughter after some people recommended this place to us. As we entered in the restaurant, we could see the restaurant was nicely designed. It was a welcoming place. There was no wait at all as the hostess seated us immediately. Our waitress was a nice and professional. She was good at giving suggestions on what to order. She gave us plenty of time to look at the menu. We ordered a Blackened Salmon with bourbon sauce for my wife, a child’s mac n cheese, a sirloin steak and rib combo with mashed potatoes for myself. The waitress also suggested that we order their croissants, which we did. Their croissants were large and were basted with honey and butter. They are not the small Pillsbury ones that you get from the supermarket. They were jumbo, and were nice and soft. Honey buttered croissants were delicious! The wife’s salmon was flavorful and moist. The bourbon sauce made the salmon taste great. The salmon also came with a side of rice and broccoli. My wife almost didn’t want to share with me. My sirloin steak and rib combo came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The barbecue ribs were okay. The steak was perfectly cooked for me. I should have ordered the steak with out the rib. The daughter loved their mac n cheese and finished everything. The prices at Cheddar’s was very good and inexpensive. Everything that we ordered was under $ 15. What a nice little chain restaurant! The food is good. The price is low. I wish they had a Cheddar’s in California, because if they did, I would be back.

I come for the honey butter croissants, as they are delicious! The service is pretty good, as the wait staff do their best to make yo comfortable. The only complaint I have, is the made from scratch sides of Mac and cheese is not cheesy for a place called«Chedders», as it’s a bit dry and served Luke warm. Other than that, it’s a nice place to eat.

Total fan of this restaurant! I came here for the first time with my family, and I must say that I was very surprised of the quality of food and service. We went in on a Saturday night at 5:00pm so it was certainly packed beyond words. At first I was bothered of having to wait 45 mins for a table, since I thought this would just be another«Chilli’s or Applebees» However, we decided to give it a shot and went to the bar for a drink while we waited, but to our surprise, there were tables in the bar area we were able to use without having to wait for a booth. As I was looking at the menu, I couldn’t believe none of the drinks were even close to $ 10 considering they were huge and looked delicious. I went ahead and ordered the Texas Strawberry Lemonade, which was part sangria and part Margarita, and it was a total winner! My mother-in-law ordered the Cheedar’s Painkiller, which tasted a lot like a Pina Colada but it had toasted coconut and honey on the rim of the cup… talk about super yumms! We ordered their Ultimate nachos as an appetizer, and while they were regular nachos with cheese, beef and the usual toppings, they were AMAZING! The nacho chips tasted like they were homemade, and the beef had a phenomenal flavor. For my main dish, I was torn between the Half Rack of BBQ Ribs and Shrimp and the Key West Chicken and Shrimp. I ended up getting the latter one, and I def made the best decision! When my dish arrived to the table, my mouth completely watered from the looks and smells emanating from the plate. This dish consisted of a perfectly grilled and juicy chicken breast and shrimp with a sweet pineapple pico de gallo on top, all which sat on a bed of rice. Now, to top it all off, my dish came with 2 sides and I got the Broccoli Casserole as a recommendation from my waitress. This is by far the BEST broccoli dish I’ve had in my life. Now, it wasn’t the healthiest one, but it consisted of chunks of broccoli, melted cheddar cheese, rice and bread crumbs. HELLO!!! happiness in my belly :) While everything was almost perfect, my husband never got the bread that came with his dish, which we told our waitress a couple of times. I know the restaurant was busy, but I will be honest and say that it aggravated me a little bit that my husband didn’t get his full meal. However, was soon as we told our waitress that the bread never arrived and my husband was done with his food, she sent the manager over to apologize and offer us some free dessert. I really enjoyed coming here overall because the food was great, and the prices even better. I will certainly be back next tiem we are in town!

I have never been to Cheddars before so we chose to eat there this evening. I have to say, I was impressed. The service was great and we liked our food. I had a Mango Mojito and it was awesome. My fiancée had that and The Painkiller. The Painkiller was very coconutty and HUGE. We had the sampler appetizer with potato skins, cheese bites, and chicken fingers. It was a lot. Then, for our main course, I had the baby back ribs with black beans and green beans while my fiancé had a burger. The ribs were so tender that I couldn’t eat them off the bone. I had to use a fork. The black beans were wonderful. The green beans were good. We wanted to try a dessert but the food we ordered was so much we were way to full. I’ll definitely go back another time.

We have been to Cheddar’s navy times for the fantastic food and great value(the prices are low for high quality meals)! Our service was really pool. Although the waitress was nice it took us 2.5 hours from being seated to leaving due to slow service. Our appetizers came out with no plates, there was no salt/pepper on the tables, our dirty dishes were not cleared before our main course arrived, we had to ask to have our drinks refilled, and so on. When the manager stopped by to ask how our night was, we kindly reported that service had been very poor with a few examples. We did not receive as much as an «I’m sorry» she just listened said«oh» and walked away… very awkward!

They are friendly here — training a new waitress. I wanted the Buffalo chicken tender wrap but I didn’t want a wrap. I wanted an actual sandwich so they made the substitution to a hoagie roll with no complaint. I wish they had more sauce and not so much cheddar on the sandwich but I guess cheddar should be expected at Cheddar’s. This place is better than TGIF in my opinion but not so much better that I would frequent the chain.

Great customer service, ambient atmosphere. Get onion rings for appetizer, very good, you’ll love, big enough for 3 – 4 friends. I had Ribeye steak for an entrée, good enough, to come back for it. Very busy place, so be ready to wait 15−30min.

I’m not sure what kind of people are giving this establishment 5 stars. Obviously people who value QUANTITY over QUALITY. Yes, the servings are huge but the food is mediocre at best. The onion ring tower was appetizing and not greasy, probably the best thing we ordered. The waitress we had was busy getting the checks for a huge party sitting next to us while our food probably sat under a heat lamp in the restaurant kitchen for a good 20 – 30 minutes. After several years of eating out it’s easy to tell the food has been sitting a whole while when it comes out greasy, overcooked and dry. I ordered the burger and specifically asked to have it cooked medium. It came out chewy like a twizzler and was super greasy. My friends’ soup came out cold and my other friends’ lemon pepper chicken had also dried out just waiting to be served in the kitchen. We gVe the desert shooters a try. First of all, the dessert shooters taste like of the fridge that they came out of. The smell like the freezer. The strawberry cheesecake dessert shooter does not have cream cheese in it, but rather tastes of a weird mix of ricotta. Very displeasing. The key lime dessert shooter was more on the bitter end, and there was more graham cracker than curd itself. Did I mention that our waitress THREW the dessert on the table? Like, if you can’t carry a plate, you should not be a waitress. This was my second time dining here, and I’m definitely not returning. It’s a shame because this place is right across my home and I would be a regular if they were any good — which, for the record they are NOT! Two strikes and you’re out!

This is the second time my friend and I have been here and we were hopeful that it would be better than the last but it may have been even worse. The waitress was extremely slow at brining out our food, the food was ice cold by the time we got it and plates and drinks were literally thrown down onto the table. I don’t understand how this restaurant has such high reviews. The only reason I am giving this place two stars instead of one is because of the deliciousness of the onion rings. Out of all of the restaurants in Melbourne, I KNOW I’m not coming back to this one.
