A perfectly adequate Italian joint with gi-anormous servings which are great for carb loading before a race. We came here before the Iron Girl Sprint Triathlon hoping to eat our weight in pasta and bread and weren’t disappointed. I wouldn’t say anything here is out of this world, but if you want a heaping portion of pasta for a decent price, this is your spot. Not much by way of atmosphere, but is BYOB for people who like that. As a side note, we jokingly referred to this place as «La Scarf It Up Grill». Maybe the joke was only funny to us.

The regular pizza used to be good but the last few times we were there, the regular pizza was not good. The Sicilian pizza is the worst I’ve ever had. This place definitely went down hill recently. We stopped going.

Meh, Overpriced, always take forever to deliver, Bread tastes like a dog bone. Food itself isn’t half bad but you might as well just go out to a real restaurant for the money you will spend.

Really good food and atmosphere, nice staff. the owner is full Italian, probably moved here from Italy. Food was memorable, I don’t think I ever had Italian food this good before. Would recommend to anyone.

We have had dinner here a few times when visiting family. We all(my wife and our four children) love this place! I have a son that will eat anything put In front of him and daughters that are very finicky. We have all loved our choices. I would recommend this place to anyone from a small family to a large group.

Great food, service and setting. For the reasonable prices, you get a wonderful amount of food and there is always fresh bread. Always a good choice.

Great night! We had delicious food, wonderful service(thanks, Antonia!) and a lot of laughs. Wish we lived in the area so we could go back again! Make sure to make reservations on weekend nights though and byob if you want to enjoy wine with your meal!

The worst Italian food I’ve ever eaten. I’m not even sure you can rightly call this«Italian» food. I’ve been twice, and both times my meals were inedible. First, the arribiatta, which was flavorless and the pasta was undercooked so severely, I couldn’t even spear some of the pieces with a fork. Second, the gnocchi, which was in a sauce that was so watered down it was seperating and a disturbing orange color, and the pasta itself was so gummy it clung to the roof of my mouth. I took less than 3 bites of each dish before giving up. The service is unforgivably slow. We asked for refills 4 times before getting them. Prices are low, but here, you don’t even get what you pay for. If you know good Italian food, AVOIDATALLCOSTS!

Had my carb loading dinner here the night before the NJ marathon with my friends. It was the perfect casual atmosphere and prices were very reasonable and there were so many items on the menu to make everybody happy. I requested whole wheat pasta, and they did have whole wheat penne. The tomato sauce was excellent, and I also ordered the broccoli side, and mixed it in with my pasta, oh so delicious! My friends liked their rigatoni ala vodka and something with angel hair(a friend requested pine nuts and they promptly served a small bowl with pine nuts). House salad was nothing special. Complimentary bread with olive oil was slightly better than average. A friend ordered the tiramisu which she said was pretty decent. Good food in a casual atmosphere!

I had a group of people I needed to feed, two of which had a really intense gluten allergy. La Scarpetta really talked me through it, explaining their process of avoiding cross contamination with wheat products, etc. They were so patient and helpful! In the end, their food was absolutely delicious and our Gluten-free guests were so happy! Perfect for catering. You can’t go wrong, it’s all delicious!

this place really surprised me! looks pretty generic, with the décor and being in a strip mall. but the food i ordered was pretty amazing! i had a grilled chicken dish with roasted peppers, eggplant, and mozzarella in a wine sauce and it was so fresh tasting and flavorful. very generous portion at a great price also! can’t wait to try other dishes on the menu. i think this will be my new go to casual italian spot.

As far as pizza options go, this is the best I’ve found in the Eatontown area. In fact, I’d say it’s second only to maybe Napoli in Brick as the best pizza around. For an Italian /pizza joint, La Scarpetta is pretty big. It’s in a strip mall with perhaps the world’s most inconvenient and cramped parking lot, full of one way streets with idiots who go the wrong direction, and next to a bank with near-boardwalk level fees for their ATM. Décor is pretty standard for a pizza place, with just enough«sprucing up» to not look generic — it’s actually fairly nice inside. The counter top is long, and they usually have a ton of Stromboli and pizzas on display for lunch. Now, all I’ve had here is their pizza, so I can’t speak for any of their other dishes. Hey, I’m a guy on a budget, and when you have $ 5 in your pocket for lunch, pizza is a great option. This works particularly well here, since two slices of plain pizza are under $ 4, and usually massive enough to fill you up. On top of that, the pizza is actually quite good, with a nice crispy crust that(usually) isn’t soggy, a decent sauce, and from what I can tell a decent cheese. Service is generally quick and friendly, and I can often be in and out within 30 minutes — well within my lunch hour. The only downsides aside from the parking lot is that some days, the pizza slices are«standard» 1⁄8 sized, and the other times you’ll get the 1⁄6 sized slices — both for the same price. A little odd, I thought. Also, if you don’t want your pizza to melt the roof of your mouth, be sure to tell them to just«warm it up a little» in the oven, otherwise they have a tendency to overheat it, causing the crust to become cracker-like, and the sauce to be molten lava. Delicious lava, but lava nonetheless. A real great spot for lunch on the cheap. I may even try here for dinner one of these days!

Went here for lunch and was very pleased by the reasonable prices and portion sizes. The eggplant appetizer was great. Veal marsala and chicken francaise were excellent. I love the idea of a «make your own mini pizzas» for a kids birthday party. Will definitely be back for that. BYOB makes this place an even better deal. Great for groups.

Had pizza there with my family. Service was good. Pizza was good, but the sauce was a little sweeter than I like. Salad was good and was fresh. Would go back again, but probably not order the pizza or something with the sauce since it was sweet.

I’m a HUGE fan of Artichokes; stuffed, baked, grilled, made into hummus … yes hummus, and artichoke dip of all varieties. We recently tried La Scarpetta’s Stuffed Artichokes. WoW … blew me away. Better than Mom makes. They stuff them with fresh homemade seasoned breadcrumbs; garlic, herbs, parmesan, evvo, maybe a hint of white wine. Brilliant! Call ahead if you want to order them because they’re kinda of special. Good luck. ~ Bona Patito

Wow surprised there was no Unilocal page for this place. I got something to go here once while I was interning a few blocks away. This place makes a sick ass meatball parm sandwich… i hope this place is still around.
