All of the pros mentioned in my review below still stand, and the upgrade to 4 stars is due to two variances in the cons. During our past few visits we have been offered a menu of the bottles and drafts, and the draft list has been very varied. As always, we’ve had awesome service and I’ve gotten some delicious beer recommendations.

The Pint is easily my favorite bar for relaxing in West Lafayette. The beer is always delicious and rotated frequently. They are a little on the pricey side, most beers being ~$ 5. But the atmosphere is really casual and the service is great. If you enjoy craft beer or want to learn more about it and try a few($ 2 samples, 4 oz.) then The Pint is for you.

If you like Beer, this is you’re place to be. It’s different than the other bars at Purdue and is comparatively quieter and further away from the campus, still walking distance though. They have a lot of different varieties of Beer to choose from. The servers are really helpful if you don’t know what to get. My favorite is the Beer Shake. It’s beer with ice cream, love the concept. If you don’t know which beer and ice cream to pair, the servers can definitely help you. My all time favorite is a Stout with Expresso Ice Cream. It’s delicious and if you love coffee, this is your pick. They don’t serve food here so you can always order food from outside or get take outs from other restaurants while you enjoy some beer. The service is great but the place is a little expensive for a college town. Definitely recommend this place if you love Beer.

Following a friend’s recommendation, we decided to try out The Pint one weekend when I was up in West Lafayette. With a more relaxed and wind-down atmosphere it was perfect for a Friday night. Wine smoothies(specifically pink moscato and raspberry) might just be my new favorite drink! I am not much of a beer drinker, however they have a great taplist and not only that you can even have a beer shake(your choice of beer and ice-cream mixed!). For someone who isn’t a «beer-lover» this shake was pretty good! The Pint also allows for people to order food in from outside restaurants, so enjoy a beer or glass of wine and order your favorite pizza while you are at it. This place has a great atmosphere, however seating is limited and hopefully will be able to accommodate more people as the demand increases! Definitely a place to return and a new place to try out with friends for a nice relaxed afternoon or evening!

Meh. I just don’t see the excitement. The drinks are overpriced to be on campus and this is NOT a party bar(I am cool with that though, I have gotten older!). There is no food for sale here at all, but they do allow you to bring food in. I feel they don’t need a full menu to be a restaurant because fair enough it is NOT what they are going for and while The Pint is the corner lot, it is located right with restaurant behind it that are authentic and open till 9 like Vietnamese, Indian, and others. Certainly beats crossing the street to the largest Purdue Campus McDonald’s when you can just park in the free parking garage there and grab food somewhere else. But the pint is making its place in this area by doing one thing well… «Being different.» They are a place to chill with friends at a table for hours if you want and have some drinks and talk. It’s not a get drunk place. It’s a meet-up and hang out that is not coffee. Greyhouse has Purdue covered for that coffee/gelato/laptop hangout on campus & I think competing with them on campus for the top coffee hangout would be hard. The Pint I feel needs to reduce drink prices by just like a dollar each for this market because they are indeed mildly overpriced for the common college kid budget. Second, they could be better with a limited appetizer menu or heck, even selling potato chips and basic sandwiches or just something. The idea is to hang out. Avidity the ultra lounge is gone now and I did like there myself, but Digby’s was an amazing upgrade it turned out to be! The Pint needs to do something besides offer a wide variety of drinks at a higher than market price, be said after a short hang out, then what? Then… Well… People leave and go to the next place to «hang out» and perhaps eat, drink, chill, and all that. The Pint to me is just«okay.» Nothing wrong with it. However, to me personally… I never have a reason to go there. I have plenty of liquor stores, college bars and non college bars, restaurants, and local hang out options. Why there? Why today? Why tomorrow? … My reasons so far to go here have been to «meet up start» with a friend and that means we have one drink and leave for whatever else. The Pint should be a «hang out», however they need to fix something to not be the«meet up» because eventually you are bored, hungry, or if a college kid want cheaper drinks. The Pint is the«preview before your movie.» So take that at face value that it is what it is. It might be good or bad, but it just isn’t the grand finale of anyone’s day/evening/or night. It’s to me a perfectly middle three stars. It’s a «place.» Not so good, not so bad. Is it purgatory? It’s just meh as in perfectly«average.» Hard to complain. Equally, it’s hard to be excited like«Hooray we are all going to the Pint!» Sadly and sorry for my honesty… That just doesn’t happen.

The Pint has great beer and it’s a great atmosphere! I wish it was around when I was an undergrad! If you want outdoor seating you generally have to get there pretty early though. Great wine smoothies too! Try one!

It doesn’t help that I live right by The Pint! This place is hands down the best bar to go in West Lafayette. Service was great, beer selection is sweet, and you can even bring your own food!

Great place for a wide variety of craft beer on campus. The staff is very knowledgable about the beers and will help you make a selection. They do not serve food, but you can bring your own. I love that they have a large outdoor patio. It has a relaxed atmosphere and doesn’t attract the crazy college bar scene.

By far my favorite bar on campus! I love the atmosphere in the summer. Plenty of outdoor seating, music not too loud, very knowledgable staff, and decent prices. It is definitely more on the high end of beer drinking when it comes to prices and kinds of beer, but that’s because the beer is higher quality. I love trying new beers and the 4 oz samplers are a great and cheap way to do that. If you don’t like one of the samples, they’re usually $ 1-$ 2 so it’s not too much out of the pocket. If you’re not a fan of beer, they have excellent wine smoothies and shakes too! I also like how you can bring your own food. Plenty of local places will deliver food. The Pint does not disappoint!

Great beer selection, quick and friendly service, and special prices and beers on Thursdays. I was very pleased to find Alpine and 3floyds on tap. About 50 of us came to Purdue for a conference and no matter what we split up to do, we ended up at the tap in the evenings(mostly uncoordinated). I think the consensus among us is that this is a nice place to hang out.

I really like this concept — «bring-your-own-food»! I’m not too sure what the college student thinks of this place… but I know it’s pretty popular amongst grad students. It’s right off campus and I was really curious before it opened because I’m a huge fan of craft beers. After we visited the first time, it became our go-to place after dinner! If you want to eat here, you’ll either have to bring your food or get it delivered here. I like that you can order the sample size(4oz); an amazing way to try the wide variety of beers on tap with no pressure to graduate to the larger size unless you want to. This is just a great place to sit back and relax over a few beers. I love this place and if I’m ever back in West Lafayette, I will definitely pay this establishment a visit!

Great beer selection. Service was a little slow at times. Atmosphere is also a little lacking. But if you want a good beer selection, this is the place to go in Lafayette.

So this is the first bring-your-own food pub I have ever been to — an interesting concept. It’s convenient for a college campus, though, keeping the student’s budget in mind. I enjoyed a warm evening on the patio with some friends — no we are no longer in the college student category, but we blend in quite well. :) They have a long list of domestic and local brews, plus a few wine options. I was pleasantly surprised by their wine smoothies! It was a perfect concoction for a summer night — Shiraz blended with raspberry sorbet — YUM! They also had beer floats as an option, but I have no idea what that entails or if I want to know. So here’s where it gets kind of weird… they don’t have music playing inside the bar or on the patio. Instead… you can request to wear headphones at your table and listen to music. Then when a bunch of people«feel the rhythm» you dance together either inside or out on the patio, while onlookers watch you… it really was a strange thing to observe… kids jumping, bopping, and grinding to silence. If you’re on the Purdue campus and it’s a nice day, I suggest trying it out on the patio. The silent rave is up to you though…

You can’t order food here(you technically can, but it’s priced in a way that no one ever does), but they are very friendly and allow you to bring in your own. The craft beer here is probably the best in the entire Lafayette area in terms of overall quality. The tap rotates, and pretty much everything on it is worth trying in the sample size before you graduate to the larger size depending on what you like. A fantastic business model, staff atmosphere, and seating choices. Relatively clean. Amazing vantage point on the July 4th fireworks. Highly recommended for those just looking to drink or those looking to drink and not pay for a big meal simultaneously.

Awful! I went here once and received awful customer service and a terrible drink. The beer I received was warm and obviously didn’t taste right. When I didn’t drink it, I was glared at by the owner, which, later made some mean comments when he handed me the check. He may have been in a bad mood, but I will never go back.

Tremendously friendly and knowledgable staff and, easily, the best tap selection in the area. You can bring in your own food and there’s plenty of patio seating. This place is spacious and great for larger groups! Seriously, if you’re at Purdue as part of a conference, and you’re looking for a place to hang out with a dozen or more people, there’s no better place within walking distance. The vibe is great, especially for it being so close to campus. This is NOT a noisy campus bar. Tap selection is about 20 deep and rotates constantly. Usually about 50% of the taps are from Illinois Indiana, 2 – 3 are Belgium or German, and the rest are from craft brewers across the USA. There’s also usually a good mix between higher alcohol and lighter, more sessionable beers.

Cool new place. Excellent beer options but expect to pay $ 5 a beer, no cheap college town deals. Really flexible, let’s you bring your own food in. Recommend checking out for an after work beer or to meet a friend.

I’m not really sure exactly how to rate this place. I should rate it on what they are and not what they aren’t, but I have to give the real deal. What are they? A place that offers a wide, rotating selection of craft beers on tap focusing on many regional choices. In that regard, they deliver. Now, here is something to note… the prices. They range $ 5 to $ 7. That is well above the local market rate for craft pint beers on tap. Other places do stock some regional choices as well at $ 4 – 5.50. Their atmosphere is actually quite nice. What aren’t they? They are not a pub. They offer no food to eat but say you can bring something in. Hmmm… So, here is a theory I’ve developed and even proposed to my friends and coworkers. They are pricing beer well above the level of what a college student is willing to pay. A college student will pay $ 7 for two beers. And the crowd they want to attract, the older working folks who are willing to spend money on good beer: people like myself and my friends/coworkers. When we go out, do we just go out to go «drinking?» Not really. We want some decent pub food to go with our craft beer. When I take food«to go,» where do I go? Home. And my friends? They go home as well. Since it is not really in a «walking zone» like downtown, I’m not going to be having dinner in one spot, happen to walk by, and have one beer to end the night. So, it seems to me this place is marketing against the two main demographics: Thirsty students on a budget and hungry working Joes(or white collar folks) with cash to spend. Of course, this place might just have found their perfect market niche. Only time will tell.

Fantastic beer selection. I went with a pint of nitro Old Rasputin and a pint of Holy Sheet by Heavy Seas. Both were amazing. Taps are continuously rotated so there’s always something new to try. The beer board is always up to date as is their Facebook with their taps — you don’t get the Chumley’s dilemma where half the time your first and second order isn’t available. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Chill environment — not overrun by hipsters and not so loud that you can’t think. Definitely worth stopping in once a week. I would be more pumped if they worked on a menu since I’m all about food pairing and beer, but allowing carry in is fine.
