Ambiance — 5 stars Service — 5 stars Food — 2 stars We got the calamari as an appetizer. It was meh and tasted like it came from a bag. My wife got the vegetable risotto which was pretty good. I got the veal parm which was really bad. I ate, at most, ¼ of it. The sauce tasted like it was right from a can, the pasta was old and the veal was over cooked and loaded with either thyme or sage. One of the worst meals I have had. The desserts were not homemade and tasted like they were thawed from the freezer that morning. As someone below suggested, if you go for a wine tasting, you will love it. Do not make the mistake of stepping through the restaurant doors unless you are just going to enjoy some of their wine.

The winery is across the road from a couple of box cars that make up a restaurant so don’t be distracted by them or you may drive right by the winery. They have a large parking lot, which is good because they seem to be a wedding hot spot and have a nice view of the river out back. I came in for just a wine tasting but the place was hopping for mother’s day and as I overheard, was one of the few places in the area that was open for a mother’s day brunch. The food smelled good from the bar area, but I did not partake in any. They seem to be an Italian/pasta oriented place. They have 3 wine flights-dry, sweet, vintage. Each for $ 5/flight with glass included or $ 1/tasting. The dry and sweet wines they import the grapes to make their wine but the vintage are from their own grapes. Most of the dry wine flight did not impress me. The first few(chardonnay, riesling, and Sav blanc) tasted like they were watered down and had a bland taste. Riesling was listed as a off dry wine, but I found it much too sweet to be off dry. The syrah had a nice nose of cherries and no finish but I could see it paired with a hearty meat sauce. The Rosso grande was by far one of their best from the list. Nice cherry nose, overall good feel in the mouth and the finish lingered. Merlot was a soft, tame wine for someone who likes a good bite on their merlot. It was smooth, had a short finish, but was not remarkable. The red zin was like berry jam in a bottle. Not super sweet, but the majority of this dry list is very cherry-forward, in nose and taste. I would recommend also to try the Cab Sav, R2, and Pinot noir. The Cab is bold, has a smokey BBQ hint, and would pair wonderfully with beef brisket or a nice dry rub. R2 is named after the previous owners whose names began with R, and is spicy, earthy, and has a lovely dry tannin finish. I think of spicy Thai food and spicy Thai basil when I tasted this wine. And the pinot is a little sweet, has a mellow flavor and earthy undertones that would bring out a pasta dish beautifully. The service was hit and miss sometimes. They were slammed but they were very attentive after most of the larger groups had been seated. Very friendly staff.

The atmosphere is great, and the wine is good. If you stop there, you’ll enjoy yourself. If you stay for dinner, you will likely be disappointed.

Where to start. We come here at least once per month for Sunday brunch. Hadn t been here since last year. What a disappointment. The food was atrocious. None of the dishes I remembered from last year. Roast beef was bloody, they had to get a different knife just to cut it. It was so tough, I could not cut it either. Plain spaghetti, two types of sauce out of a jar, boiled broccoli, mushrooms, meatballs the size of a dime, chicken pieces right out of a freezer bag. No taste in any of the food. Omelet station manned by a teenager who had no clue what to do. Waitress clueless, told us nobody had complained, shrugged our complaint off. We talked to 4 different tables and everybody was disgusted. Wine was decent. Spent 70.00 Including tip. We will never bee back. Don t be so damn cheap. Hire a decent chef.

Food is very good here. It was all freshly cooked and hot when it hit the table. Even the vegetable medley was freshly sautéed and not reheated from a frozen mix. Service is friendly too with great input on menu selections from the server. The setting is worth the trip. Very nice dining room with great fireplace, live piano music on Friday evenings, great views, and an awesome patio. I also enjoyed the variety of wines they produce. Many of the local wines can be harsh, but they have a wide selection of many very good wines. Check out their website for menus.

On a girlfriends weekend we visited Raven’s Glenn. What a wonderful find! $ 5 for wine tasting was a great deal: choose a flight of 9 different wines and keep the glass. The server was pleasant and informative. Decided to eat lunch at their restaurant and again was pleasantly surprised! Prices were very reasonable, large portions and incredible food! The 3 meat lasagna was the best lasagna I ever tasted! Once again, great waitstaff. None of the other wineries we visited compared to it.

They have the best Sunday Brunch omelet and bacon around! The shrimp/shrimp sauce is very good, as is most of the Italian dishes on the Sunday Buffet. They have to get the blueberry cake back! Please! It is the best cake ever and caps off an other wise great eating experience.

Stopped in with colleagues for a business dinner. All seven of us had a fabulous dinner, and the wine selection was great. This is probably the best restaurant in the area. Try it, you won’t be disappointed!

I’ve been to over 20 wineries in Ohio and this one is one of the best. They have a lot going for them — it does feel more like the big box winery compared to a smaller independent, but they use it to their advantage. They have more wines than you can possibly taste in one visit: something for every palate. Everything white, red, fruit, and in-between. I would highly recommend making a day trip of it if you’re not from the area. there are several other wineries nearby but this one should be the highlight of your day. They have a full service restaurant with a great menu and the ambiance is fantastic! My wife and daughter and I were seated for lunch near the back window where we had a beautiful view of the river behind us. WOW! We did try several of the wines on separate occasions going here. You can order a bottle or a glass of wine with any meal. I’d recommend starting in the tasting room and picking a flight of wine tastings you sound appealing. Then eat in the restaurant enjoying a glass of your favorite wine. Then take a couple of bottles home! A very inviting atmosphere adds to the highlights of this place.

Yes they have good wines and the wine tasting part is a lot of fun. I have eaten here on several occasions but have never really been that impressed. They have a pretty good selection on the menu, mostly Italian. One of our dinner partners leaned over to me and said don’t get the spaghetti and meatballs it’s terrible. Now I don’t know about you but a Italian place had better have the best spaghetti and meatballs in town. The service was good and the food came out quickly. I just wasn’t again impressed with there food. Here is some advice, do the wine tasting and order apitizers.

The wines are wonderful, the desserts are fantastic. The service from Zack was beyond anything we could expect. Such a friendly guy and great server. We don’t live close but we will be back. Definitely ask for Zack — you won’t be disappointed.

Coming from CA, wine tasting/drinking is one of my hobbies. I was curious to see what the OH wineries had to offer. I was thoroughly impressed with the wine offered here. It was not just sweet wine or fruit wine(though they do make sweet wines). They also had wines that offered complexity and depth. They also offer a nice selection of dessert wines — one of which I LOVE. It is their white port — Sonata Evening. I adore this wine. I have eaten here once, but the food was average. I am far more interested in the wine. I did enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant and tasting room. It is a place I always enjoy returning to when in Ohio.

I’ve read some reviews about poor service at Raven’s Glenn here on Unilocal, but my experience is different. We enjoyed dinner there last night. Our server Connie was fantastic in taking care of our table of four. I should note that the restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived — it was 4th of July — but it filled while we were there. No matter what, Connie did a great job. She seems to care about her work, and isn’t just going through the motions. Ask for her and I expect you’ll get great service.

This was the first time I tried Raven’s Glenn and I heard some very good reports of this establishment. When you first walk in you go through a bit of a gift shop to the wine bar. We made reservations but went early to taste some of their wines, which were very good. My wife and I each tried a group of wines and the wine-tender was very good explaining each wine and flavors, etc. We ended up purchasing 6 bottles and they offered that we could drink one during dinner, fantastic. Our reservation was at 7 and it was 7pm when we approached the hostess stand. She told us it would be a while unless we wanted to sit outside… Although it was 85 degrees, we did not want to wait so we sat on the deck, which was very nice but it was extremely hot and there were bugs everywhere, but it was tolerable. Here was the biggest problem, our server was very slow, mixed up our appetizer and main entrees. The meal took almost 90 minutes and by the time the food came, I was ready to leave. This is a very nice restaurant but the service stinks. Not sure if it is the kitchen that is slow or the staff. I may try it again but it was a bit of a disappointment for the $$ of the meal.

My wife and I love good wine. We’ve never had an Ohio wine we’ve liked. I tried two at Ravens Glenn Saturday evening and was very impressed. Their Syrah is delightful; I bought a few bottles to bring back to Columbus. They have both a red Port and a white. I had the red with a generously portioned crème brûlée and had a much different experience than I was expecting. It was not as sweet, and it had a surprising peppery finish. Very nice. I think they may have had more customers than they were expecting. The place was packed, the noise level made conversation difficult, and the service was slow. Had to help the waitress with the pronunciation of Provencal, but that wasn’t a big deal. However I was disappointed in that I found out the filet was only available on Friday nights. And then I was was really disappointed that the Manicotti that was one of their specials was sold out by 6:30 pm. I ended up ordering an appetizer for my entrée: bacon wrapped shrimp that was surprisingly delicious. I’m still amazed that after all these decades I’ve found an Ohio winery that puts out an extraordinary offering.(FYI: their Late Harvest Reisling is sold out and none will be ready for six months.) We did not have a perfect evening, but If I had not been the designated driver, I’m pretty sure it could have been. ;o)

The themed meal(Bayou Bash) started 45 minutes late due to a group coming late. Everyone had to wait for them! First course was crayfish. Five each, with corn on the cob. Not bad but not great. Second, was a Nola specialty that reminded me of hamburger. Supposed to be spicy. It wasn’t. Can’t remember what it was called though. Not memorable. Third was Blue crab claws, about six. Little meat on each one but the flavor was good, but not great. Each course had a wine pairing. I’m not a wine connoisseur so I’m not the best judge but the pairings didn’t tickle me. Bread was also served. No butter or olive oil, just dry bread. I doubt it was made here. I asked for butter. It took about 15 minutes to get butter. That may have been because there were eleven tables and only three servers. Next course is a seafood/sausage gumbo. It was supposed to have shrimp, crab, sausage and alligator. I didn’t have any shrimp and the alligator was very chewy, over cooked. The dessert, after a LONG«break» was Banana’s Foster Bread Pudding. I guess the break was for them as I was anxious for the evening to end, not be prolonged! The dessert was not bad. Maybe the best of the five courses. However, that’s not really a compliment since the previous four were all underwhelming. I was offered my check before dessert but then had to wait for it after dessert anyway. The service, overall, was dismal. The food was marginal. This was for a fixed price $ 43.99 meal! Maybe for half that, but even at half, it’s overpriced. As I sat in the banquet room waiting, between courses and for the check, I had time to write most of this review on my phone. Dinner lasted about 2 ½ hours. Way too long. I had complained that we were made to wait on one table yet were always served after they got their service. Even then, it didn’t improve much. Then, to make matters worse, they automatically added a gratuity! For a party of two? Really? Even when they had apologized for the poor service? Add a gratuity? The service didn’t deserve a tip. Over all a huge disappointment especially since we were here to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Avoid. There are way better places that this. The previous evening we’d had dinner at a chain, Bonefish Grill. The service there was excellent and the food far better.

A group of friends and myself stopped here after a whirlwind mini-road trip to Ohio(surprisingly) and I walked away in love with the wine! They have a nice deck that sits next to the river in back that you’re dine on. The food was good, but nothing to get overly excited about(especially in terms of prices) but I did enjoy the wine. After our meal, I spent some time in their tasting room and ended up going home with $ 98 worth of wine. I would say they did their job right! If you’re in the area — and I’m not certain why you would be — then I’d definitely suggest this as a stop. Only downfall: Our server was a little less«put-together». They were trying to be a little fancy and expensive and our server literally used the words«dumped» in terms of sauce being placed on chicken. Not judging, just an interesting analysis.

We had a wonderful experience at Raven’s Glenn. The hotel we stayed at had a «Wine and Dine» special that included a free tasting, so my husband and I took advantage of the offer. We were blown away by the variety and the flavor of the wine we sampled. We opted for dinner and had a GREAT evening! The food was wonderful, the wine fantastic, and the view of the Tuscarawas River was beautiful. All in all a fabulous dining experience and we can’t wait to be back in that part of the state again to visit!
