The Gathering Place at Gardner Village

First of all I loved my ceremony and reception at the gathering place and I wouldn’t have changed it for anything. But there were definitely things that went wrong, and could have been prevented but I didn’t stress about it because I listened to my amazing dermatologist and she said DO NOT STRESS THE SMALL STUFF. Haha.
But first, It didn’t occur to me until the day before our wedding that the groom and I (the bride) wouldn’t be able to do the rehearsal together on the day of together because we didn’t want to see each other until I was walking down the aisle. We could have done two separate run throughs, but I didn’t have time. So I didn’t get to boss people around with my OCD-​ness, and from what I understand is the music wasn’t used in the run though.
I think all of these small mishaps could have been prevented if I would have been able to get to go to the walk through. My husband had no idea what to ask/​what to expect. All he knew was to show up on time.
The processional song was correct, but when I was supposed to be walking down the aisle, the recessional song started playing. You could say I wasn’t the happiest. They then started the processional song over, because the flower girl was still walking, but at a lower volume, then once I was walking down the aisle, I don’t think they turned the volume back up.
Secondly, there was only one microphone for the ceremony, which was attached to the officiant’s suit, and we were saying our own vows. So we had to fumble around trying to get the microphone unattached and reattached. It was very frustrating.
Like I said, these things could have been prevented if I would have realized sooner that I wasn’t going to be able to make the walk through. I could have done the walk through and my husband could have stayed in his dressing room. But I was late, lets be honest.
The only other thing is that the bride/​bride maid’s room was tiny — but I did have 9 girls, and my mom and mother in law were in there, and my photographer and videographer. It was very claustrophobic and I got anxious.
I would honestly recommend the gathering place to anyone and everyone — I got so many compliments, everyone absolutely loved it. It’s the perfect location, a gorgeous building, great staff, a fun atmosphere, and an amazing price for all that is included.

They ensure every detail is in place prior to your event. The food is amazing, the atmosphere festive and the staff courteous and attentive. Highly recommended!
