Outstanding takeout for Chinese and Tai. The pad tai is the best in town. Down side it takeout only small table for eating in.

Have been looking for a Chinese food place since moving to West Islip over a year a ago and was let down by all of them… Read the reviews and they didn’t lie… Awesome food… Everything was amazing… Fantastic crab wantons, wanton soup, the best beef and broccoli I’ve ever had! And they also do tai food… Shrimp pad tai was great!!! Found my new place to order from

Great food! Anytime I eat Chinese, I get sesame chicken and it’s basically how I judge the restaurant. They have by FAR the best sesame around. Drenched in delicious sauce but somehow still super crispy. Not a fan of mushy sesame chicken. This place nails it!

We have tried so many Chinese take outs over the years and are always disappointed. Just saw this place listed on Unilocal and gave it a try. Everything we ordered was very well done and fresh. I would say this is a hidden gem! We will be back.

This is out go-to for Chinese take-out. Always delicious, the meat tastes like meat and not some rubbery substitute and the sauces have great flavor. I’ve not had a bad meal from Green City since we changed from Long River to them a few years ago. Definitely give them a try!

Can’t believe this place has no reviews. It deserves five stars and plenty of business. It appears to be a run-of-the-mill Chinese place, but it’s got heaping, delicious food for amazing prices. Check it out. Worst-case scenario: You’re out a few bucks and you’ve got a lot of food. Best-case scenario, and what I experienced today: You’ve found a place that you’re going to visit over and over. One of my housemates recommended I check this place out, based on his self-professed Jewish taste for Chinese food. I’m an atheist, but I’m a huge fan of Asian food, especially Thai food. So when he slipped this menu under my door and I saw that there is a lunch special from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. of Thai food, I was intrigued. And when I saw the prices(all about $ 6), I couldn’t resist. When I went on a Friday afternoon near the end of that lunch special time frame, there was one other customer. I waited about six minutes for my food, sitting at the bar facing out toward the titillating views of this modest West Islip strip mall. I got my bag and some sauces and went home, where I dug in and was truly impressed. I’ve tried a variety of Thai options over the past year, from primarily Chinese restaurants such as Green City Kitchen to full-fledged Thai spots. There’s been greatly varying quality, with some of the best being from unexpected places(e.g., a food truck at Freefest in Maryland). This place is now listed in my head as among the best Thai food I’ve had in the past year. The chicken pad Thai that I ordered was a great portion, with a fair amount of chicken, noodles, sprouts, peanuts and — surprisingly to me, but perhaps not to a more seasoned Thai eater — half of a lime. The lime was a nice touch that gave a complex kick. Soy sauce drowned out the existing flavor, so don’t overdo it. Of course, the best sauce you can use with pad Thai is hot sauce, and I was a bit disappointed not to find a bottle of Sriracha here, but considering that it’s not a Thai-exclusive place and it’s a walk-in joint in West Islip, I don’t mind. And the pad Thai doesn’t really need much sauce. The flavors that are there are subtle yet consistent and strong, with hints of spices popping in your mouth as the noodles dissolve. The chicken is well-grilled and not too thick or wide. The noodles aren’t too long, though of course, be careful not to splash yourself as I did on my white shorts. Yes, it is after Labor Day. So sue me.(Use the lid as a sauce tray to feel like a true life hacker.) At a price that is roughly half of and a portion size that is roughly twice as big as what you’ll find elsewhere, especially on Long Island, this is essentially quadruple the value you’ll get out of other Asian options. And it’s a no-frills little shop in a little strip mall. The service and interior are exactly what you would expect. Surely they could use all the business they can get, so you should give some to them. They deliver for free for a minimum order of $ 10.
