Nobu’s Yellowtail Sashimi and Black Cod is amazing. I sometimes dream about how good it is. The West Hollywood location is great, i do however prefer the Malibu location and better yet … the London one, as they have an even better menu ! :)

Perfection! Best albacore sashimi with ponzu Ive ever had a supercool take on the crispy rice spicy tuna dish. Service was impeccable and décor and ambience were perfect. There were three of us for dinner and while we didn’t order drinks, we didnt lack for anything on the menu-from appetizers to rolls and sashimi to desert — all spectacular!(get the grilled banana caramel) and unbelievably, our total was less then $ 200! I had to do a double take as I figured it would be at last $ 100 per person. I will be returning soon and as often as possible. Side note: Valet can be a little tricky as you enter off of La Cienega which is crazy busy and it can get jammed up so just be aware

I like the kumquat cocktail. Toro tartare is best. Besides that I just order a lot of sushi, which is really good. I prefer traditional Japanese cuisine over fusion so I stick with the classics. Shrimp tempura is also really good. Service is good, specially the busboys and runners.

I was surprised when I called Nobu on a Friday afternoon that I was able to reserve to seats for the sushi bar. Our sushi chef was so friendly and because of him I am sure we enjoyed our evening at Nobu more than otherwise. In fact, the entire service team was excellent, from the sushi chef to the valets. The dishes were so well-executed. To say each dish was perfectly done would be about right.

Beautiful, trendy West Hollywood restaurant. Came here with my boyfriend and two other couples. We started off with drinks– us ladies loooooved the lychee Martinis. It was our first time there and upon looking at the menu we were kind of overwhelmed. We wanted to try everything! Our waiter sensed this and told us he could help us– he asked for our price range and asked what we types of food we liked and said he could bring out various dishes for us. We told him it was about 80 – 100 per person. This actually worked out well for us. We didn’t have to sit and try to pick out different things and think of how we could split it — instead the food came to us, each dish was a surprise and we loved everything! Plus each dish served about 6 people… And in the end all of were stuffed, even the guys. I definitely recommend coming here with a group so that a variety of dishes can be ordered. Also, it’s very trendy so dress to impress.

Great food great atmosphere Did a surprise birthday party there yesterday Had 13 people so had a little table issue as their biggest table fits 12. Rooms are 2500 minimum food and beverage 300 $ rental which you need to book in advance. So unfortunately we couldn’t move to a room. There is also a 5 $ person cake cutting fee. Food is really good Seafood is all very fresh Service is really good as well. Server put together our menu and ordered most liked dishes. Everything was good. Was not disappointed with any dishes.

We are pretty regular here at Nobu. Years ago, when we came here for the first time, we were fortunate to be seated next to Lionel Richie. But get this. Three weeks later, we were eating down the street at the Italian place Madeo and we were seated right next to Lionel Richie AGAIN. We got up enough nerve to tell him that we sat next to him at Nobu a few weeks earlier, and that began an hour-long conversation with him and his wife. What an awesome time we had chumming around with Lionel Richie, hearing stories about times he spent with Michael Jackson etc. The restaurant closed and we were the only two tables left, sitting and chatting over dessert and coffee. Once-in-lifetime experience. Haven’t met any celebs at Nobu since Lionel, but the food alone is enough to bring us back time after time. Here’s what we had this time: BAKEDCRABROLLS(5⁄5) We fell in love with these rolls first at Sugar Fish. We got the idea to ask if they could make them here, and happily the waiter said they could. Fresh crab rolled in fresh sheets of seaweed. Simple and irresistible. KINGCRABTEMPURA(5⁄5) Another one of my favorites at Nobu. Delicately and lightly fried morsels of fresh crab. It doesn’t get much better than this. SQUIDANDWATERMELON(5⁄5) Sounds like a weird combo, but I have to tell you, it wasn’t weird at all. Refreshing and delicious. SOFTSHELLCRABROLL(3⁄5) This was the loser of the night. A bit on the ordinary side. Not bad, just not up to Nobu caliber. NEWSTYLESALMON(5⁄5) The waiter told us that Nobu created this dish for people who were reluctant to try raw fish. Hot oil is sprinkled over the raw salmon just before serving. I really enjoyed this dish. ALBACOREWITHDRYMISO(5⁄5) Any of the sushi dishes at Nobu that are served with dry miso are big hits with us. WAGYUSLIDERWITHPRESSEDTOFU(3⁄5) Not a huge fan of these. I love tofu but these were just OK for me. Wouldn’t order again. Desserts were off-the-chart good. I equally loved all of these! HALOHALO(5⁄5) Wonderful combo including vanilla rice pudding, mochi pearls, puffed soba, sweet red beans, jack fruit, nata de coco, macapuno and purple yam, mango and coconut gelato. MILK&COOKIES(5⁄5) Pistachio ice cream sandwiches, served with a warm pistachio milk. PISTACHIOSOUFFLE(5⁄5) Warm pistachio soufflé served with amaretto gelato. We left stuffed as usual. Nobu is a restaurant you need to visit, at least just once!

Took my best friend here for a christmas dinner surprise, she had no idea where i was taking her in the first place as we arrive she was very happy and surprise. I do want to try the one in Malibu one day but it’s a bit far maybe next time! I wish i could enjoy more sushi but I’m not a big fan of sushi I only took my best friend here only because it’s her favorite thing to eat. So since it’s our first time, our waiter recommended us some pretty good items, starting off with the drinks for non-alcocholic I had the Lychee-Passion and my friend got the Acai Punch which is both so good not bad for a non-alcoholic drink! For cold dishes/Starters-We ordered the Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeño it’s fresh with a hint of the spice of jalapeño. We also had the Nobu Style Tacos-Waygu Beef is the best one! so we ordered it twice! They are literally finger bite size that just melts in your mouth in one whole bite! Now on to hot dishes-I ordered the Steamed Chilean Sea Bass with Black Bean Sauce or Dried Miso, its sweet, tender with lots of flavor but I had to order a side of rice so it’ll blend in well with the sea bass. Overall it was a great experience! I would come back to try their many other tasty dishes!

We celebrated my birthday last night and were beyond pleased. I made the reservations over a month ago and have been stalking their Unilocal page to see what it is we just had to try. We asked the waiter to put two specific items on our course for the night(wagyu beef tacos and the crispy ika) and after that for him to choose everything. Boy did we make the right decision! He coursed out an amazing dinner and gave excellent service! Everything, from the yellowtail sashimi with jalapeños(which was anything but ‘basic’) down to the black cod miso, left a delightful impression! Definitely not a place I’d go regularly, but one worth revisiting if ever I’m in the area before a nice evening out.

Delicious food, wonderful service and beautiful atmosphere. Perfect for date night and make sure to just give your waiter a per person budget and he will create a custom menu for you. The omakase lacks some of their popular dishes so inquire to your waiter if you want to get the most out of your experience. Still craving the yellowtail sashimi with truffle oil. Mouthwatering.

Yum!!! I loved my experience at Nobu! Came here for my birthday last year and I was not disappointed. Going to preface this by saying, THISPLACEISNOTCHEAP but it’s so worth it so none of that even matters. Service — 5⁄5 Food — 6⁄5 Ambiance 5⁄5 Overall: 5⁄5! Special shoutout to their Tuna Tataki with Tosazu. It was so bomb I ended up ordering another one after taking one bite! Very small portions but DIDN’T EVENMATTER! So scrumptious! Yay, Nobu! Can’t wait to go back!

We were most looking forward to the chilean sea bass, it was the best dish that we ordered yet doused in sodium. I am traumatized from my last visit to come back to try anything else. But for new comers, I highly advise to stay away from the non-sushi/sashimi plates and veggies because you are wasting your money on something that isn’t palatable.

«Nobu Nobu Nobu Nobu Nobu Nobu» — Future You may or may not have heard of this line from«Jumpman,» one of the tracks off of Drake’s and Future’s mixtape. If you haven’t, here you go: Anyway, Shawn C. and I have really had a thing for Japanese food lately(particularly omakase’s), we also really like the song Jumpman. So when we were picking out places to eat for our LA food tour, Nobu naturally made the list. We each got the $ 100 pp dinner omakase, cause go big or go home right? Jk, they have $ 150 and $ 200 options as well, so we didn’t go that big and we actually went back home to the bay the following the day. Our omakase consisted of 9 courses, a mix of cooked and raw. There were some dishes that were pretty basic and didn’t stand out to me, such as the veggie roll and noodles. However, some really stood out. My favorite of the night was the salmon with crispy spinach, along with the hotate on top of crispy rice which was apart of our nigiri assortment. Overall, it was a mix of so-so, good and WOW, but we weren’t impressed by every course. Beware, make sure you don’t get the distilled aka Fiji water. We discovered it was $ 9 when they brought out the check. Our total bill came out to ~$ 300(thanks, Shawn C.!), and for that big of a hit we would expect to be WOW’d, not just«it was good.» Unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing and we probably won’t be doing that again. I was debating on a 3 star review, but rounding up since the overall experience was good.

Nobu is always a go to spot. can’t go wrong with anything here. Trendy and a bit on the pricey side but well worth it. Yellowtail Sashimi — so fresh and tasty off menu truffle sashimi… forgot what type of fish but ask the waiter for this! off menu seabass was delicious too! Ask for this as well. melts in your mouth uni and caviar special — eat it with a spoon and it was so refreshing forgot all the other dishes we had. but for dessert we had the kamameshi halo halo. If you like warm dessert with a mixture of all sorts of fruits and flavors this is a good option. Sorta like a rice pudding.

«Nobu, Nobu, Nobu, Nobu, Nobu, Nobu/I just got a private dinner in LA” — Future Hendrix I have been intrigued by the prospect of understanding the hype behind the most essential rich person chain in the world ever since I first heard its name dropped in ‘Jumpman’. I fuck with sushi big time, so I feel like any opportunity to experience the cuisine of Nobu Matsuhisa, the most iconic Japanese fusion celebrity chef around, should not be overlooked. For me, Nobu was a perfect albeit cliched gateway into the world of luxury dining. Of course I had to try it. Nobu was simply too big to fail. The first thing that you’ll notice about Nobu is the price; most dishes here cost $ 25-$ 35 with the highest prices landing in the $ 70+ range. However, no single dish could suffice as a meal on its own and, frankly, to limit yourself like this would pointless. The biggest thing I got from my experience was the variety of tastes and textures, the fact that with every bite I was embarking on a slight immersion into an exclusive, world famous cuisine. You have to get a little bit of everything to really understand what’s going down, and if you think you might overindulge, you’re probably wrong; most of these dishes are really small and, especially if you’re with a group of people, will probably be gone after a few bites. The best bet is to get a few cold dishes and a few hot dishes that catch your eye. You’ll be spending a lot of money no matter what, so be ready for that. You’re basically paying for an innovative brand, fresh ingredients, attentive service, and the feeling that you’re part of some elite trend. Here is a brief rundown of what I scooped. Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeño($ 25) — My first dish, after some tasty Edamame($ 6). This fish was very hyped up, and I see why. If I understand correctly, it was Nobu’s original idea to put jalapeño on sashimi in order to add a certain sharp kick, so eating this feels like a raw concept stripped to its core. Taste-wise, it was very strong on lemon and pepper. This clashed with the subtle taste of the yellowtail, as if it was only there to set the texture and to absorb the flavor of the sauces on top of it. Octopus Tiradito($ 25) — This was similar to the yellowtail sashimi; slabs of raw seafood dominated by the flavors surrounding them. I liked this one a bit better because the rubbery octopus absorbed the spicy cilantro vibes and(again) heavy lemon in a very satisfying manner, making for something that melted in your mouth despite its harshness. Good balance. Eel Cucumber Roll/Soft-Shell Crab Roll/Spicy Tuna Roll($ 15/$ 14/$ 10) — Here’s where it got a bit underwhelming. Don’t get me wrong, this sushi is good. Each roll had great flavor, texture, and quality, and Nobu definitely knows how to make his sushi taste vivid while keeping it simple. The thing is, I’ve had better sushi for about half the price, so I was really expecting something a bit more exceptional. That being said, these rolls were adequate means of filling in the gaps between the main courses. NOTE: the meal was wonderfully paced– from cold dishes to sushi to hot dishes– giving each entrée a huge magnitude. Rock Shrimp Tempura with Butter Ponzu Sauce($ 25) — I accidently ordered this, but I’m glad I did because it was probably the most poignant and filling dish of the evening. The shrimp was pretty hot and the sauce was extremely flavorful. It came with chunks of lettuce and some other chewy seafood that I wasn’t sure how to identify, but it was very complete and very tasty. Definitely get this if you are going to Nobu. Black Cod with Miso($ 32) — This was absolutely the shit. It makes sense that this is Nobu’s most famous dish, because as soon as I bit into it I felt like I was eating something special. The waiter was quick to point out that this was marinated in miso sauce for 72 hours, and you can definitely taste the patience because the sweet flavor is practically imprinted onto this cod’s exterior. It is fucking delicious with a near perfect zest to it, and the fish itself is also extremely succulent, adding an fresh heaviness to a flavor that I usually associated with slimy, light eel. This is a must have. Is Nobu worth it? I’d say it is. I didn’t go to Nobu on an empty stomach, so I was pretty full at the end and I split the food with three other people. You can definitely have a sensory experience here for a reasonable price(around $ 50 a person) if you are eating for the sake of enjoyment instead of, say, to appease your hunger. When Nobu gets it, it really gets it, and the vibe is indisputably great. It is one of those restaurants where quality is so effortless that you start to take it for granted. I was fulfilled at the end because I felt like I was part of something. I’m glad I tried it, it made for an excellent dinner, but I wouldn’t go crazy here unless you have the pockets to do so. Try it once to see if you like it(you probably will). NOTE: They try to sell you Fiji water. It’s $ 9. Skip it.

Oh hey check out my original five star rating for Nobu. Oh hey I’m so inventive and courageous by going out on a limb and spreading a good word or two about this place. Y’all should check it out y’all. Oh hey it’s just Nobu guys it’s no big deal I eat at places like this all of the time IRL. Oh hey I’m thinking of opening my own Nobu but since the name is taken I’ll just call mine Nonobu. Since it’s not actually Nobu. Get it. Oh hey I’m going to open a small craft website and call it Itsy. Because it’s small. Oh hey I’m going to make a spinoff site and call it Bitsy. It’s a store that only sells drill bits. Oh hey if you go to this Nobu you should just let the waiter pick a bunch of stuff for your group to try. Oh hey I’m not talking omakase either. I’m talking about just trusting the waiter to hook it up yo. Oh hey the valet took a while to bring our car back, what’s up with that? Oh hey I’ve been to the Nobu in Malibu and oh hey it was also pretty good. Oh hey at this Nobu I saw that guy Scott from the Kardashian show. Oh hey he wasn’t with Kourtney. Oh hey I don’t like spelling that name that way. Oh hey at the Malibu Nobu I saw Adam Sandler. So let’s square off. Who would you rather watch on TV for 30 minutes: Adam Sandler or that Scott guy? Oh hey there is no right answer.

As someone who lives for a good meal and even better sushi I had to cross Nobu off my list. I have heard nothing but good things about it. I was so excited to try it out. My reservation was for 6:15, but I arrived a little early as I wanted to grab a few drinks at the bar. The drink menu is pretty expansive from cocktails, wine, and champagne. I went with a vodka tonic using ketel one and two limes. The drink was $ 12 not bad at all. Our table was ready before the scheduled time which I can appreciate. Our waiter immediately offered us water flat or sparkling. Once he brought out the water he asked if we wanted edamame or shisito peppers. We went with the edamame and OMG! Talk about perfection they were so spicy I loved it. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten edamame so quickly before. The absolute best. After devouring the edamame we decided to order the avocado tempura, sweet potato tempura, salmon sashimi, salmon avocado roll, and lastly the spicy tuna. The tempura was so good especially the sweet potato. The sashimi was fresh along with the rolls. The pricing was reasonable which is always nice. Overall great experience at Nobu.

I’m a fan of Nobu in Malibu but not this one. This location is nice, the food is below average, but the service is below 0. The service was terrible and super slow, it took more than 20 minutes to refill my drink, and also lack of smile on staff faces. I had yellowtail, albacore, and tuna. Only albacore was fresh, but not the rest, tasted unpleasant and I barely swallow it.

NOBU lives up to its hype. The one that was created before Drake. I’m sure there’s one even after all the rappers. Known for its Sushi(which I am not a big connoisseur of. yet.) I opted to go with my server’s recommendations. I started off with the Salmon Sashimi, which juuust melts in your mouth. Seriously. I think it may be topped with truffle. For my main, I had the king crab. Also, flawless presentation and execution. The crab sits in a vinaigrette bed which really exemplifies its flavor. The tempura is seamlessly light, never making you feel like you just ate at Benihanas. The drinks are good too. I had something champagne based which I can’t recall because obviously I had more than one that night. Dinner is pricey so be sure to enjoy the full experience if you are able to.

Very consistent food delivered here at Nobu. I’ve been to many Nobus all around the world, and a lot of the menu items does overlap, but what never ceases to amaze me is that the plating and flavour of Nobu’s miso black cod is extremely consistent, no matter what country I’m in. I come here pretty frequently, since there aren’t many decent japanese places around. I’m not a big fan of omakases, and many of the good restaurants like Urasawa serve only omakase. The sashimi here is fresh and delicious — but naturally at a chain high end restaurant like Nobu, you will have to pay the price for what you eat. Service is good as you would expect from Nobu, plus it’s location near Beverly Hills. Nobu seems to have this thing to hire waiters and waitresses that are model-like for some reason, but I suppose it’s because it’s also a bar. I find that sometimes unnecessary to have a female server in super high heels and an extremely skimpy black dress manning the entrance. But then again, Nobu is a fusion restaurant so I wouldn’t expect to have servers walking around in kimonos, but that would be a nice change to all these american-japanese places around. They have a variety of items that are taken off the menu, but I like to order them. Try ordering their Ika Watermelon Ponzu, flavouring is on point!
