High quality sushi at a good price. I had one of the spicy tuna specialty rolls, and it hit the spot. I also had the wild mushroom miso, which was a great twist on miso. I heard Miley eats here but not tonight. :’(

New restaurant made me move from the bar, they were so impolite that I will never return here. Sushi is just ok, there are a ton of better places near by like Wa, Yabu or Yoshi’s. This place does not know how to treat customers.

This place is hidden on Santa Monica in west Hollywood. It’s great because it has amazing service. We used to go here all the time and their portions are very fair. It’s a great little sushi spot for a relaxed quick sushi. We stopped going there a few months ago when my husband got good positioning though from our dinner! Yikes!

The food was great, a tad pricey but you left feeling full with one roll and some sashimi which leads me to my feedback, thinner slices of sashimi please. The cuts were gigantic and didn’t made for easy eating. The Shishito peppers were out of this world. The mushroom miso was extremely hot when it arrived, but hey it’s soup. That too was delish.

I went after work with some co-workers and I was very happy with the entire experience. The service was awesome and friendly, the food was great and I’ll have to say they had the freshest and most delicious mochi ice cream that I have had in a very long time. Everything we ordered was so tasty and I will definitely be going back again real soon!

I eat here all the time and I love it. The sushi’s great and all the hot dishes are excellent as well. Love the baked crab hand roll and the rock shrimp with eggplant. I’ve never had a bad meal. Consistently excellent!!!

You will leave stuffed and with left over food. We ordered the beef teriyaki combo with Tempura. They brought us huge and delicious salads and delicious miso soup. I would have given them all 5 stars but I asked the waitress if they served lean meat. She said yes, and the reason I ordered beef. It ended up being too fatty for my taste. But the meat that was mean was delicious. The Tempura was the best I’ve ever had. We will definitely go back, when we go back to SO Cal.

I was between two and three stars. Bottom line, this is not my favorite kind of sushi. The fish was fresh but something tasted off. Too much sauce, too many items in every roll. The have a great location and the atmosphere was A-OK. Service was pretty speedy and very friendly, and the rolls are around $ 13 each. One roll is definitely enough for lunch, but if you don’t like what you order, you are going to be bummed, which is precisely what happened to me. Enter sad face here.

I don’t understand the collective 4 star review that this restaurant has. In fact, it tricked me into going here and now I’m pissed. Argh Flavorless and not fresh fish, rice heavy rolls, and a high price tag. My girfriend and I wanted to get out and experience WeHo on a Friday night by walking down SMB and trying someplace new. Normally I do a lot of research to pick a great restaurant to fill the coveted Friday night date night slot but we were looking to be spontaneous. A quick glance at the Unilocal app led me to believe that this would be a good choice as we came across it during our evening stroll. We split cucumber salad, Salmon Sashimi, two large rolls, and a large Sapporo. The sashimi was hard and chewy with no flavor. The rolls were heavy on the rice and didn’t have great flavor. Blahhhh This is a wanna be trendy sushi joint that falls wayyy flat. I really have nothing good to say about this place other than the location and outdoor seating is nice… oh and our server was nice(but NOT knowledgable when I asked questions about the special board). I can think of 5 divey sushi places within a few minutes of this place where you can get significantly better sushi at a much better price. If you are a real sushi lover, don’t waste your time here.

After my massage around the area ended, I was dying to get something in my tummy… what’s open at 9:36pm on a Sunday? Let’s ask Unilocal! i called to make sure their kitchen was still open… I had about 9 minutes to get there… so glad i made it! I ordered: –Philly Roll –Dragon roll –Tiger Roll –Lobster Roll or wrap It was all yummy! And cost around $ 50.(good thing I didn’t pay. haha) Staff is very friendly and speedy w orders! Thanks for filling up my tummy Ari-ya!

A coworker and I decided to give this place a try having never been here before. The service at the sushi bar was fine. Now for the food. I ordered the Dragon Roll. It didn’t seem like they used the freshest of ingredients and it was made really apparent through the flavor of the eel and the roll as a whole. Needless to say, I was absolutely disappointed, especially for the price they were charging. I came here based on the 4⁄5 star review on Unilocal. How they were able to receive that score is beyond me. Skip this place.

I am a sushi lover, and have my go-to places, which I adore. However, on this occasion, because my friend was out visiting from Australia, we decided to try a new place in a fun area. I hate complaining, but unfortunately, the food was not up to par. The meal began with a great start, but it rapidly went downhill. We started with miso soup, I had the wild mushroom miso, which was warm, flavorful and delicious. From there the group of us split a few rolls, and teriyaki chicken. Typically I love rainbow rolls. I love the vibrancy of the colors of the various fish, and the combined flavors make my tastebuds sing. Sadly, the fish looked old, as if they had gotten freezer burn, and slowly defrosted. The yellow tail looked like partially cooked chicken, and the avocado slices had oxidized into a brown color. The teriyaki chicken wasn’t much better. It was a rubbery texture and the vegetables tasted like they were defrosted and boiled, very little flavor. Needless to say, it was overpriced for the meal we received. But the service was good. They were very friendly, and the overall atmosphere was small, intimate and quiet, warranting the 3– stars.

Call me a sushi snob but I didn’t feel satisfied with the food as I was eating. Perhaps it was a Sunday but for a typical neighborhood sushi bar, it works. I did in fact like the crispy lobster dish. The place is a bit pricey for whatever sushi. The service was very good though and I give them 3 stars for that!

Came here last friday with my best friend and her girlfriend. Right smack in the middle of weho. I’ve had better sushi but it wasn’t bad at all. It was extremely convenient since my friends apartment is down the street. I ordered the«house salad and sushi special» which was $ 15. I was expecting the salad to be like whatever but it was HUGE! like for two hungry people. Miso soup, your choice of one of 3 sushi rolls(I picked spicy tuna), and 3 pieces of sushi. shrimp, tuna and salmon. If you want to replace one of them, theres an extra charge, so ask first. I tried two other rolls, which were very yummy. overall experience and service was excellent. Theres also a nice little outdoor area, very comfy.

Went back to Ari-ya last night!!! Had another delicious meal. Before I get to what we had, Ari-ya sells a combo special for $ 15 which includes a huge house salad(I saw it on someone else’s table), a spicy tuna roll, three pieces of sushi, and miso soup. That is an amazing deal. Forget those crappy deals you get elsewhere. Ari-ya has really high quality fish. Shishito Peppers($ 5) — grilled peppers with a hint of saltiness. Super good and generous portions! Some of the peppers can be quite spicy, so if you like spicy food, this would be perfect for you. However, some of the peppers are as mild as a bell pepper, so I’d still recommend this dish to people who don’t like spicy stuff! Ariya Roll($ 13) — albacore, yellow tail and salmon wrapped up with avocado, asparagus, and pickled carrot. See my photo. It’s beautiful! This one tastes a lot like sashimi. The fish to rice ratio is quite high. Philadelphia roll($ 7) — Ummm. Yeah. This one is still our fav. Amazing, big chunks of salmon rolled up with cream cheese and asparagus. Delicious.

I’ve walked by this place many times, and today finally on a day off I decided to pop in and try one of the lunch specials before I worked out. First impression; it’s nice. Understated. Very traditional sushi bar décor, the artwork a little more fun than some. Fairly classy. Sushi chefs a bit older and dressed in white chef wardrobe. Everything seems fine. The waiter was cute and had a nice smile. Brought me menus straight away. I knew what I wanted to ordered right then. Lunch special w/beef teriyaki(per his recommendation) and spicy tuna rolls. Comes w/miso soup and tempura. Good times. The miso soup came out and it was both hot and delicious. One of the better ones I’ve had. They lost a star, however, because I waited about 15 minutes between the soup and the rest of my lunch. A bit slow, considering there were only about three other tables here. Took a while. Not that I was in a hurry, but I think that at lunchtime things should move quickly. Had I been on a lunch break from work, I’d have been hurrying to get back in time, for sure. Everything was delicious and presented nicely. The beef teriyaki was high quality steak, would have been quite respectable even without the sauce. The tempura was hot and crispy, with great flavor. The salad was even fresh and the dressing tasty. Would have been a five-star lunch if it wasn’t quite so slow…

You know what’s annoying? When you can SEE your omg rolls sitting 10 feet from you. Right THERE. And after 10 minutes no one brings then to you. A fact that you bring to the fact of the sushi chef. Who won’t let you just take your OWN rolls. Then, you literally have to stop someone who’s not your waiter and, when they say«do you need anything else?» you have to point out, again, you’d like the rolls — that are yours — 10 feet away and in your sight line. Now the rolls were good. The miso was fine. Even the ambiance, minus te heavy traffic, was good for weho. But if you’re going to have your waiters take impromptu breaks, NOT come back and NOT going to bring me my food… well then at least hide it from me so I don’t KNOW how close I am to what I want to eat. Cause that’s just hunger torture.

The sushi was a-ok. Service was a tad off that night. I don’t know if it was a language barrier issue thing or what not. I do wish their servers a little bit more knowledgeable. I requested 3 orders of tobiko w/quail egg nigiri. TOBIKO okay. What I got? MASAGO w/quail egg. Masago is the cheaper one, not to mention noticeably mucchh small than tobiko. It’s not like they don’t offer tobiko. As a matter of fact, their white board above the sushi bar said that one of the specials was tobiko. *sigh* But I digress. At least the salmon was very fresh. The sake nigiri was wonderful — perfect amount of fleshy fatty goodness.
