We got there about 5 minutes before last call/bar close and they were really nice and insisted we stay and eat. My friend had a veggie roll and he loved it, it was really big, which was awesome and I had the philadelphia roll which was good as well. Nothing too extraordinary, not gonna lie… but it was pretty good and the service was good.

One of my favorite places for amazing sushi! Always accommodate no rice! Always delicious and never disappoints.

We come here all the time. It’s a small but amazingly sneaky sushi spot. We had sweet live shrimp many times but tried the live scallop. It was sooo good. Def recommend the Aji as well

Best Sushi un LA, I love this place, they always please the customers, Every time I come I order sliced jalapeños and lemons and they know be now, super service and the owners are always there. They have a great variety of rolls and everyone I’ve tasted is incredible, I’ve even brought people from out of town and they’ve said its the best sushi they have eaten.

The Service was amazing friendly and funny waitress. But the food was a total fail! I ordered a popcorn shrimp roll and caterpillar, two of my favorite, as well as spicy garlic edamame. Both rolls just seemed old with an over powering smell and taste. I’m a frequent sushi eater and I’m familiar with the niko Niko sushi franchise, enough to say that this was disappointing. I told my waitress and cashier that I was not satisfied and they did nothing. I spent 30 dollars on 4 pieces of sushi, garlic edamame, and a coke. Good luck!

Undercooked chicken, I did not order sushi but the chicken teriyaki sucked bad. Service was slow, server seemed inexperienced.

Will definitely be back! This place is great for the price, nothing crazy fancy but clean and generally a good vibe. Service is great and all very friendly. Their combo plates are pretty substantial, so if you’re hungry, you know where to go!

Whether you’re local or from out of town, this Niko Niko location is sure to fill a sushi craving! We came on a weekday after touring sunset on a cool rainy day, and Niko Niko turned out to be far more delicious and inexpensive than we expected. We tried the yellowtail, spicy tuna, and salmon rolls. All tasted fresh and presentation was fantastic! The guy behind the counter did everything to make us feel welcome eventhough he was swamped with orders and snooty patrons! He checked on us, made sure our waters were refilled and the food didn’t take long. During the middle of the day, this place isn’t busy at all. We had a five star experience, without paying the five stars prices. Niko Niko is great!

fuji roll and salmon avocado are great here. If a sushi spot can get the salmon avocado right, that’s all I need. The rice was just right and the seaweed complements the fish well. well done.

The restaurant is beautiful, service is good and people are friendly, but ultimately it comes down to food for me. The Tuna Sashimi was cut thick, but not tender, smelled and tasted fishy. Not good at all. I ordered the Crunch roll and it was just alright unfortunately. The Hawaiian roll which also had Tuna was really bad as well. This was my second time being here and the first experience was the same way.

Had sesame chicken, spicy tuna and sashimi. The fish quality was substandard and the cuts were think but not soft. Not coming here again.

Okay, it it wasn’t for the amazing value of this place, I’d probably give them 4 stars. However, Niko Niko has come to be my favorite local«cheap sushi» joint. There are places every block around here that advertise«half off sushi» or «all day happy hour» and most of them are garbage. The food and service here are fantastic! We got pretty damn full and buzzed for about $ 40($ 2 Kirin and $ 2 or $ 3 large hot sake)! Can’t really beat that :) — Hot night roll(I think that’s what it was called): probably my favorite. Spicy tuna wrapped with yellowtail and topped with slice of jalapeño and drop of sriracha. — Salmon roll: generous pieces of salmon that were fresh and tasty — Forgot the name but it was a tempura roll with salmon and cream cheese: I’m not a huge fan of these but the gf wanted it and it was good for what it was. — Yellowtail roll: same as the salmon roll, large pieces of yellowtail that were delicious — Shishito peppers: quite a spicy batch but very good still They also give you a complimentary small bowl of edamame when you first get seated. Service was on point and the food came out super quick! Already thinking about going back for my weekly sushi fix :)

Affordable, delicious sushi! A tempura udon during cold weather hits the spot, plus fresh white tuna sushi as an appetizer — perfect meal for one. They also have endless sushi rolls, my favorite is the rainbow roll.

I have friends who say this place isn’t good but I disagree. Its small which I like. We had sashimi this time, tuna, salmon yellow tail, all fresh and tasty. We added a salmon roll with brown rice(a dollar more) it was tasty as well. They have happy hour until close, with excellent drink prices.

Suzie Q’s Fun Facts: «Niko niko» in Japanese is onomatopoeic for«laugh» or «smile»(sort of like naming a restaurant, in English, «Ha ha!») =≅≅≅≅≅≅≅≅≅≅≅≅≅≅~ My experience at this sushi restaurant was mixed, at best. A group of seven of us came here to celebrate a friend’s 29th birthday. As this restaurant is tiny(to be charitable), they had no choice but to wedge us into a skinny, tight, uncomfortable booth. As I sat the farthest in/closest to the wall, my entire side of the table had to stand up and file away from the table when I needed to leave my seat.(Awkward!) And then there was the ordering debacle: After perusing the menu and filling out the standard-issue white paper menu card, we stuck it on the edge of the table and waited for the sushi to start arriving… And waited. And waited. And WAITED. Until someone at our table realized that our Niko Niko server, ignoring us entirely, had never come back to collect our order nearly *thirty minutes* after we’d sat down. To make matters worse, our server didn’t figure this out herself.(What did she think we were doing, just loitering with no intention to order food?) One of our party had to stand up and walk over to the sushi bar to ask that someone finally acknowledge and start working on our order. In fairness, once the sushi chef finally received our order, he started working on it immediately(expediting it, one would hope!) and the dishes started coming out without much delay. While the Western-style sushi(drenched in sauce, deep fried, topped with Jalapenos, etc.) was perfectly serviceable, it wasn’t anything special. So on the balance, I can’t give this place anything higher than three stars. If you’re looking for better service in a more comfortable space with even tastier sushi, go elsewhere.

There are so many sushi places in this neighborhood it’s hard to single out any one of them as being better that the other. Sushi here is good and you won’t be disappointed. You won’t be blown away either. Kind of your standard run of the mill sushi place. Service is good and their lunch specials are worth considering.

I have been passing by Niko Niko for the last year and a half and finally decided to stop in and grab some sushi rather than always wondering«What if this is the best sushi bar in town and I’m missing out cause I always have other plans?» I can finally attest to how great this place is! It was relatively quiet when I headed in for lunch on Thursday so it was easy to be seated and served within the first five minutes. I ordered the Tuna Tadaki Roll made with Brown Rice instead of White and it was delicious! The Tuna was extremely fresh, both the raw in the middle of the roll and seared on top. There was also a really amazing sauce they used which complimented all the flavours perfectly. I definitely want to return and eat some more very soon! A great Sushi Bar!

I’ve been going here for a few years and I’ve never really been a big fan, but they have for sure worked on their recipes and improved them. Our meal was delicious, service was prompt and friendly and the happy hour beers for $ 1.50 was pretty awesome. Not the best Japanese I’ve ever had, but for sure improved and for the better. If you haven’t checked them out in awhile, you should stop by!
