Get the Get the clam chowder. And the charbroiled oysters. I say parked on the street at hamburger Mary’s five bucks just walked in because the parking lot is always full staff is friendly asked all the questions you want there very knowledgeable and everything is always super good. And then you can walk around afterwards.

Connie and Teds is one amazing restaurant. I came here with nine friends for the DINELA lunch deal and it was quite impressive. For Appetizers, the Oysters looked super fresh and the trio clam chowder sampler stole my heart. Although I wasn’t a fan of my own smoked mahi mahi because it was a little too healthy for me. When I eyed my friend’s burger and cod burger, I was filled with envy. They were huge and super delicious. To finish things, the chocolate chip cookies were delish and really fresh. I loved everything about my experience at Connie and Ted’s and would totally come back again.

Wow, what a great experience! My brother and I came here for lunch to celebrate my birthday during restaurant week. We ordered the three course menu and each sampled each other’s items. We got: –Oysters: So delicious. I’m a huge oyster fan and these were just perfect. –Chowder Trio: Very tasty. The Rhode Island chowder was something I had never tried before and it actually turned out to be my favorite! The portions look really small when it first comes out, but it actually fills you up pretty quick! –Tuna Melt: Delicious. So good. Melts in your mouth and perfectly seasoned. –Smoked Mahi Mahi: This is more of a salad item, so be aware when ordering. It was very good though. Thick slabs of smoked fish. I was impressed with the portions and it tasted very good as well. –Whoopie Pie: I liked the whoopie pie, but my brother didn’t. I think he was kind of hoping for it to taste more like a giant oreo and not light and fluffy, but to each his own. –Chocolate Chip Cookies: Wow, so good and cooked to perfection! When we broke the cookies in half, the melted chocolate chips strung across… if that makes sense. So. Good. The atmosphere was so cute and festive(very nautical) and the service was fantastic. Our first course came out reaaaally slow and I had to get back to work, so I politely asked our server if there was anyway to speed up the other courses so I wouldn’t be late and he made sure that each course was brought out the second we were finished with the previous one. It was fantastic! So sweet of him! I really appreciated it. I definitely want to come back.

My friends are getting tired of me because I can’t stop talking about Connie & Ted’s. The seafood here is just so damn good, prices are fair for the quality, and they have an awesome cocktail selection to boot. This is an establishment that is undeniably worthy of being a repeated member of the Jonathan Gold LA list of best restaurants. Sometimes the simplest preparations can be the most difficult to execute. I generally like my seafood in the purest, unadultered form. Many restaurants overdo it with bells and whistles, overpowering the natural decadence of the seafood. Not Connie & Teds. Their warm lobster roll is ONPOINT and everything I have ever craved in a lobster roll. Huge chunks of fresh lobster meat, butter and a dash of chives for a nice, subtle savory finish. Their oysters on the half shell are some of the best I’ve ever had. On a recent visit, our table of four ordered two dozen, and had to feverishly put in an order for an additional dozen after inhaling the first round. I loved the clam chowder sampler which comes with a trio of soups: clear broth, Manhattan and New England chowders. They were all phenomenal and full of flavor. Sure, they were not thick like the clam chowders you would find in say, a can, but they were bursting with flavor and full of fresh clam chunks. The DineLA menu is, hands down, the best in the city! For the price and quality of food and the complimentary cocktail, it is the best value. The lobster roll and fish and chips were outstanding, and the blondie dessert was one of the most scrumptious sweets I’ve ever had. There is valet parking and some metered parking along Santa Monica. Be sure to make reservations, and even with a reservation, be prepared to wait!

An overdue first visit to Michael Cimarusti’s casual seafood restaurant, Connie and Ted’s during Winter 2016 DineLA, given the quality of the food and service, I thought the special 3-course DineLA lunch deal was very good for $ 25. ***FOOD*** I’m old-fashioned when it comes to raw oysters — I’ll only order them during cold months with an «R» and so my DineLA lunch began with ½ a dozen raw oysters(2 oyster varieties — Phantom Creek, British Columbia and Pickering Passage, Washington state). The bivalves were ultra fresh, briny, sweet and delicious with slight taste profile and textural differences between the two kinds.(If ordered a la carte without the DineLA deal, each oyster would’ve gone for $ 3 a piece, so that was a nice savings right off the bat). Then it was on to a delectable Battered Cod Sandwich with my low carb choice of coleslaw instead of fries and I finished with the Chocolate Whoopie pie for dessert. The only minor critique I have is that the coleslaw was somewhat sweet and maybe that had to do with either under-seasoning and/or naturally sweet shredded cabbage and carrots. The Dine LA lunch deal also came with a drink so I ordered the Arnold Palmer iced tea(tea with lemonade). I’ve never had Arnold Palmer iced tea before and found the balance between tart and sweet to be just right(other folks might need to ask for sugar, but not so in my case). ***SERVICE*** Service was excellent — my server was Earl and luckily for me, he was attentive, pleasant, polite and did not have the type of WeHo attitude outsiders like myself dread. After requesting a glass of tap water at the beginning of my meal, it was replenished throughout and I was also surprised towards the end of my meal when I was offered a free refill for the Arnold Palmer drink. ***AMBIENCE*** Casual setting with a raw bar counter inside and numerous 2 and 4 top tables/chairs inside. I’m sensitive to noise so I decided to sit on the patio facing Santa Monica Blvd. so I could people watch and take food pix while munching on my food. I went during non-peak times so it was very chill. I imagine it gets quite hectic during the lunch, dinner and weekend brunch times. ***PARKING*** Since I came out during a weekday, I just parked on one of the residential streets for free. Valet park and metered street parking available. Definitely pleased with this visit and I can’t wait to go back and when I do, I’ll be trying out the chowder sampler, ½ lobster roll and fries weekday lunch combo and some other things in the next few months. After trying out more of the menu, I might consider updating my review. ***RATING*** Solid 4.25 stars — I’m a fan!

So good I want to keep it a secret but I don’t want to be shellfish. Connie & Ted’s is DineLA at its absolute best — offering incredible deals on great food and bringing people in to make them into huge fans of what this place can offer. We came here for their $ 25 deal for three courses and a drink(we both got Arnold Palmers). I ordered the clam chowder sampler, batter dipped cod sandwich and chocolate chip cookies. My boyfriend ordered the half dozen oysters, the hook burger(hyped as one of the best new burgers in LA) and the whoopie pie. Everything about this experience was on point — including the Adele/Sam Smith soundtrack playing in the background the whole time. The clam chowder sampler was such a fun treat — my favorite was the New England! But the Rhode Island and Manhattan were also really delicious with bits of clam to fish for with each spoonful. The oysters were some of the best I’ve had. Very fresh. We were seated right at the bar where we watched them to prepare plates and plates of oysters. Ours were fat and juicy and really salty, which I loved. The horseradish sauce went great with the oysters but just a drop was enough to give me a jolt! My batter dipped cod sandwich was really yummy — but it does feel heavier and greasier once you start getting full. They do a really good with making the batter feel fluffy and you get plenty of cod to sink your teeth into, so there’s a good ratio of fried and fish. My boyfriend’s hook burger lived up to the hype. The juice was oozing off his medium-rare patty. I loved how it tasted with the 1000 Island dressing. He was a huge fan of the four year old cheddar. I’m really looking forward to coming back for their lobster roll. I didn’t expect much from the desserts but the chocolate chip cookies were so soft and warm and gooey, it made me forget how completely stuffed I was. The whoopie pie was also quite good. I already have my eye on the blondie for next time though. Another thing to note was the excellent service. I’ve never been so excited to write a generous tip! They were so friendly and welcoming, from the host to the busboy to the man preparing the uni right behind the glass display we sat in front of. We had a few snafus — our server misheard me say I wanted fries and brought me coleslaw instead, but they were quick about bringing a bowl of fries over to make up for it! I tried a few bites of their coleslaw too, just so I could say I’ve had vegetables today — it was good enough that I might not judge someone for choosing coleslaw over fries. Maybe. And my boyfriend had originally ordered cookies but spotted the whoopie pie and asked to change his order. When they brought dessert, they forgot the change but our server apologized and brought up a whoopie pie so we ended up with more dessert than we could even finish! They came over a few times to apologize for the mix-ups, and I was really appreciative for their dedication to both the quality of what they serve and how they serve it.

Mmm:) glad I was introduced to this place. Came here on Sunday lunch with bf and some friends for dineLA. I would definitely recommend making reservations because apparently the waits can get long. They have their own valet parking but you can probably find street parking if you’re lucky. The dineLA lunch very much worth it. For $ 25, we got to choose a drink(Arnold Palmer, lemonade, or iced tea), appetizer(chowder sampler, half dozen oysters, etc I forgot what else there was), entrée(fried cod sandwich, hook burger, smoked mahi mahi, tuna sandwich), and dessert(whoopie pie, cookies). Bf and I shared the Arnold Palmer, iced tea, oysters, chowder sampler, hook burger(w fries), cod sandwich(w fries), cookies and the whoopie pie for $ 50 pre-tax and tip. The chowder sampler was so delicious and came with three small samples(but still surprisingly filling) of Manhattan chowder(tomato based), New England(cream based) and Rhode Island(clear). Out of the three, I enjoyed the Rhode Island the best but still really liked the others. All samples had a considerable amount of clams too! I think the original price is $ 11 which isn’t bad. Would get this again for sure. The oysters were also fresh, plump and juicy. The cod sandwich was good, but most of us agreed the hook burger was better. It was so meaty and juicy and ridiculously filling. The fries are crispy on the outside and potato-y on the inside– and large portions too! You’ll definitely get full from the dineLA meal. Our friend got the mahi mahi which came with smoked mahi mahi and a salad. It was tasty and healthier than the other options– I think I would get this next time with the chowder. We weren’t expecting much from the desserts but the cookies were surprisingly good and gooey/chocolatey… The service was good. Waiter was friendly, attentive, and funny! Mmm. We will definitely be back– even for non dineLA meals!

Phenomenal. If you want quality seafood, I’d highly recommend Connie & Ted’s. Fresh seafood and awesome service combine for a great dining experience. I do have to say that the parking situation is a bit ridiculous. It’s $ 7 for«valet» in their small lot. Try to find street parking if you can… although you have to watch out for the street signs. We came for for the DineLA lunch($ 25/person) and I thought it was a steal. It comes with a drink, appetizer, entrée and dessert! You definitely get the best bang for your buck. I recommend not ordering the same appetizer/entrée as other people in your party so you can try multiple things on the menu without having to order more. I got the half dozen oysters for starters and it was so fresh! Oysters usually go for $ 3/each if you order them individually so I’d say it’s definitely worth it. I got to try the clam chowder sampler(Manhattan, New England and Rhode Island) and I liked that too. FYI, Manhattan is tomato based, New England is creamy and Rhode Island is clear. After seeing sea urchin(uni) on the menu($ 18), I had to order that separately. As fresh as you can get, the uni comes out still in the shell! There are about 5 big pieces of uni in it and it was delicious. Continuing the DineLA menu, I decided to go with the Hook Burger as the main entrée. I really wanted to go seafood and order the batter dipped cod sandwich since this restaurant is known for their seafood but I was blown away by the Hook Burger. Talk about JUICY! You can see the meat juice just ooze out of the sandwich… delicious. Meat was tender and the fries were crispy, just the way I like them. Luckily, I got to take a bite of the batter dipped cod sandwich from someone else who ordered it and it was fantastic as well. I’d say you can’t really go wrong with either choice! To top it off, you get a choice of dessert too! The chocolate chip cookies were fantastic. It reminded me of Diddy Riese since they were so damn soft! I’m a huge fan of this place. As with any seafood place, especially in Hollywood, it’s definitely not cheap but I think it’s worth the price, DineLA or not. I’ll definitely be back!

PARKING: We opted for Valet since it looked like the sidewalks didn’t have any available spaces. Valet was $ 5. You could also pay for your valet in the restaurant and bring your receipt to the valet if you don’t have cash handy. ATMOSPHERE: Large open space. I enjoyed the big glass doors and simple décor. SERVICE: Servers were very attentive but the food took a while to get to our table. FOOD: Tried the Lobster roll with beer battered onion rings, the oysters, the steak and eggs, the fries, and the calamari. The lobster roll was DELICIOUS! our roll was stuff with sooo much lobster! And the bread that came with the roll was so perfect! It was crispy on the outside and incredibly soft and fluffy on the inside. The roll was also buttered which made the roll that much more amazing. The onion rings, fries, and calamari were good too. I don’t think I have anything bad or good to say about that. But I thought it was soooo cool how the oysters given to us were each from a different place. The oysters were so good, not fishy at all and the sides and topping that came with the oyster was so refreshing! Will be back for sure :)

Does Connie and Ted’s live up to the hype? YES! I would definitely come here to grab more delicious seafood! Came here on a Saturday night and the wait for a table was between 1 – 1.5 hours. The two of us waited at the bar and poached a seat within 20 minutes. Major props to the owner? or a manager who told us to watch the bar like a hawk to grab a seat =)! We ended up splitting a DineLA 2016 and a lobster roll between the two people. DineLA Trans-Pacific — The non-alcoholic drink option included in the DineLA menu which was ultra refreshing and tasty. It had a very nice bite from the ginger and was overall a great complement to all the seafood dishes [to come]. I want this again! DineLA Grilled Calamari — Fresh, tasty calamari! It’s hard to go wrong with calamari with arugula, breadcrumbs, and tomatoes and this dish delivers. Nothing too exciting but super good and a highly recommended! DineLA Ed’s Portuguese Fish Stew — I think this is the same portion as the regular off-the-menu stew and this stew was off the chain! The really enjoyed the mussels and sausages floating in the broth and the bread(probably deep-fried in butter) they give you is awesome for dipping! Definitely a hearty dish for any seafood lover! Lobster Roll — Pure bliss. We got the hot roll with the slaw and I realllllyy enjoyed this. It was a different style then rolls we’ve had in Maine but I would order this again in a heartbeat. The slaw was just ok but I wasn’t expecting much to begin with. DineLA Dark Chocolate and Orange Ganache Bar — A fantastic finish to the night. This is not too sweet with the Dark Chocolate and it was both refreshing and not too filling. I can’t wait to come back and eat more at C&T’s!

Okay, so the first time I came here my friend and I ordered the crab cake and a lobster roll each, and I felt so sick afterwards. It was just too much butter for me to handle. Came here a second time for dineLA’s Restaurant Week, which is $ 40 for an appetizer, main entrée, and dessert. It also comes with a drink. So not a bad deal. The drink was awful, neither of us liked it. The appetizer was okay. The grilled calamari was good but I did not like the blue cheese salad. Got the lobster roll again, hot with cole slaw and this around it didn’t make me feel sick. It was still so buttery though. For dessert we got the dark chocolate and orange bar, and the blondie. Holy hell the blondie came with a huge scoop of ice cream and was SO sweet. We could barely bite into it. And the size of the dessert was huge, there was no way one person could finish it. The dark chocolate and orange bar was fine, but nothing amazing. Overall the best thing here is the lobster roll, and the interior of the place is nice. However my server the second time was kind of snarky and rude which I did not like.

Wow. Amazing restaurant. The highlight was the clam chowder. No thickeners, gluten free. You can actually taste the clams in the broth ! Must have. The butter buns is another must have. The lobster was good but I miss the old days back in the 70’s and 80’s when they would scoop out the middle part of the lobster and fill it with a crab cake type mixture and brown it under the the broiler ! Mmm yum. I was wondering where the king crab was ???

Highly anticipated, alas I get to try after morning hike. Connie and Teds did not disappoint. Micheladas were $ 5 on brunch special. We ordered several dishes to try including sampler of chowder, clam steamers, oysters and lobster roll. We were definitely full after all that. The oysters chosen by chefs selection were fresh and bright. They have selections from West Coast and East Coast for sweet or briny preferences. The clams served with butter and clam juice were excellent. By dipping the clams into both, it provided a rich robust flavor. The chowders were all different, Rhode Island being the unadulterated, New England had the cream base and Manhattan had the tomato base. The chowders here are not thick as I’m usually used to but nonetheless full of flavor. The lobster roll was full of meat and buttery toast although very expensive. Overall, it’s a great place to get your seafood!

I watched it being built day by day from day 1 and I was there the first night it opened to the public. I had gone back many times. I suppose that in itself is a good sign. Sure, everyone loves to complain that it’s overpriced, which is true, but at the same time, sometimes you(well, I do) just have the craving. The oysters are always fresh and they have a rather large selection to pick from, which is not very common. I usually take the chef’s oyster selection and it never disappoints. Love the horseradish sauce with it. I usually have the recommended Junmai Ginjo sake with the oysters. They indeed go well together. The size of the fresh fishes are rather small for the price, so I learned to pick several appetizers and make a meal out of them. I love their Stuffies, the Oyster Rockefeller and the Deviled Oysters. The crab cake is actually pretty good, one of the better ones. Some places shouldn’t serve crab cake if they don’t know how to make it — these guys luckily do. And the clam cake is awesome. I’m not a big fan of their clam chowders and calamari; I’ve had better. The lobster roll is very yummy, but indeed a bit pricey for what it is and how small it is. I think the Fish and Chips for $ 21 is a rip off. You only get two small pieces of cod and a whole load of fries. When you can have Fish and Chips for $ 10.50 elsewhere, you wouldn’t want to pay $ 21. It’s really not that good. I love their Fried Oyster Sandwich. Having lived in New Orleans for 2 years, that’s something I’ve missed and now I can have it. I could live on it. :-) For $ 15, it’s definitely a better choice than the F&C. Their coleslaw is pretty darn good, although I’ve had better. Since I had the exact same coleslaw at other restaurants, you know that it’s mass manufactured and comes out of a jar, but it’s pretty good for that. The Mahi Mahi is more affordable and it’s nice and the Fish Stew is fantastic. The New England Boiled Dinner is really yummy, albeit a bit pricey, but definitely worth a try once. I’ve had the uni(sea urchin), but I don’t really understand why people are all over it. I know it looks cool, but the taste is not that special and it’s definitely not a meal. It’s not even enough for an appetizer. It’s more of a «try it once because it’s rare and cool» item, but it’s really not all that. I have not had the steaks there. My roommate had the Bacon Hook Burger and he loved it. It looked good, too. They make their own fries and it’s OK. I love it that they change their cocktail list every month. They’re always cool and unique cocktails. Since they have a full bar, they can always make you any cocktail even if it’s not on the list anymore. They have some 30+ local craft beers on tap, so that’s a nice touch. The wine list is not that great, but sufficient. They have some yummy desserts that I can never can say«NO» to. My favorites are their Carrot Cake, the Blondie and the Bourbon Pecan Pie. Service is most of the time top notch, but with the amount of people they have on staff at a time, it shouldn’t be anything else. When it gets filled, it gets very loud inside, so you would want to book a table on the patio. They have a little waiting area patio by the bar where you can wait for your table with a drink. All in all, it’s a tourist trap, since it’s known for celebrity visits(they can afford it), but overall, it’s not really worth the money(you get similarly good food for less money at a lot of places), but worth a visit. :-) FYI: Michael Cimarusti is no longer there. He was just there to open the place and to oversee the training of the staff, but he no longer cooks there.

I read reviews and had recommendations from colleagues so figured I’d give this place a try. And I must say it’s definitely overrated. Finding street parking is a nightmare leaving us to doing valet. And valet was bad too as they squeeze so many cars next to each other since their parking lot is small and tight. We had reservations and still had to wait at least 30 minutes for our table. We ordered drinks and waited in the lobby like everyone else, constantly checking up with the front desk if they called our names since we couldn’t hear from all the chitter chatter around us. Yes, the place gets pretty loud with others waiting just like us. In addition, the décor is like a diner, and it made the dining experience so plain and nothing special. With the price they charge for food, at least have a nice ambience with nice décor. Instead, you get simple tables and chairs and stools. Oh my. After getting seated, we ordered oysters, lobster, lobster roll, clam cakes, seafood stew etc. Overall, the food was good but it wasn’t anything extraordinarily different from other seafood restaurants, so I didn’t quite understand what was the appeal that flocks so many people here. I give credit to their service, having waiters that were very friendly and courteous. They constantly checked up on us and we’re very attentive. I wish I could’ve given it a higher rating but with the boring ambience, and the noise and wait time due to the crowd, I have to give my dining experience just 2 stars.

This is one of my favorite seafood restaurants in LA. If you’re contemplating going, GO! Every time I’ve been it’s been a delicious dining experience. Here’s what I’ve tried: Lobster Roll — Buttery, fresh, lobster(huge chunks). A+ Blue-fin — Tender, fresh, flavorful A+ Monkfish — Fresh, mild, moist, but not very flavorful. B– Tuna tartar — Flavorful, fresh, gorgeous(best I’ve ever had) A+ French fries — Crispy, not greasy, salty(they use a separate fryer just for their fries!) A+ Blue-fin dip — A little disappointing, but we still finished it. C+ Whenever my parents come into town, they always want to go here. And I’m always happy to take them. Thanks, Connie & Ted’s — you guys get it right.

I’m not sure why the half dozen naked cowboy oysters were super salty, as if they had been shucked with a knife made of Himalayan salt. Lobster roll served hot with drawn butter was the second best I’ve had in Los Angeles. The hook burger is also quite tasty. Clam steamers with drawn butter or white wine tasted great but looked a bit disturbing because all of the black feet were sticking out. Fried clams with bellies are a crowdpleaser. I got addicted to the tartar sauce and started dipping everything in them. Sides were overall mediocre… the slaw tasted better than the fries and onion rings. Décor is adorable since it’s WeHo, but avoid sitting in the corners of the patio and the table by the front door unless you want to freeze your butt off.

Connie & Ted’s is trying really hard to have that New England seafood vibe. It’s a cool ambiance, I’ll give them that. Their bar is also quite nice, they make a really good cocktail and have a solid beer selection. The food however is pretty«meh», especially for what you pay for it. I get this this is supposed to be a hip spot, and the location would suggest exuberant overpricing, but for what you pay I would expect much more. Being from the east coast, I judge any New England-style seafood joint by their clam chowder. If you can’t do that right, you shouldn’t be doing anything. At first glance it LOOKS good. It’s thin, not thick like you get at most other wannabe New England spots. While I do enjoy a thick chowder, the real AUTHENTIC New England Chowder is thin, relying only on the starch of the potatoes to thicken it up a bit. So on first glance it had promise, but I was however disappointed. The flavor fell short, and the clams were much too fishy and chewy. The lobster roll was very good, but no better than Cousin’s Maine Lobster which is right down the street and $ 10 less. I will give this place a + for their oyster selection which is quite extensive. Overall, Connie & Ted’s is good, but by no means exceptional. Fun to attend, but there’s places in town that do it as good or better for much less $.

This was our last lunch for our LA trip before heading to the airport. Our party of four ordered a wide variety of raw, grilled, and fried seafood along with some sides. Overall based on the freshness and quality — definite 5 stars! We ordered the following: * Chef’s choice of dozen oysters — each one individually from a different region(Canada, West Coast, East Coast). My palate cannot tell one from the other but what I did sample was fresh and good! I had San Quintin, CA and Cape Code Native, VA. * Trio of Clam Chowders — Rhode Island(clear, mellow broth), New England(creamy), and Manhattan(tomatoey, spicy). All excellent and can easily be shared between two. None of them were overly rich, and I think the quality rivals Ivar’s in Seattle. * Shrimp Cocktail — Should be renamed prawn cocktail since these were huge! Almost like a tiger prawn. Very fresh! * Grilled Monkfish — We got this with herb oil and lemon and really liked it. It’s called poor man’s lobster since the flesh is heavier than most fish. Excellent dish and perfectly seasoned. *Lobster Roll — We got the Connecticut version with drawn butter(no mayo this time!)! We could easily order one per person but got two for four people. Super juicy lobster and the hot buttery bread made this one of the best lobster rolls I’ve had! This includes the ones from my Boston trip earlier this year! *Fried Items — We got the clam bellies, fries, and onion rings and all were pretty crispy and not too oily. Good stuff in moderation of course. *Ginger Soda — They make their own ginger syrup so this drink has much more zing than bottled ginger beer. Very refreshing drink that awakens the senses! To end the perfect seafood lunch our waiter recommended the Blondie dessert. He said it was a top 10 dessert in LA. Hmmm… I wondered whose list but after a quick Google search EaterLA ranked this #3! We split the Blondie, which is basically a freshly-made warm brown-sugar brownie with ice cream and top and caramel sauce drizzled all over. It sounds and looks simple but was executed flawlessly. The brownie was not super sweet, and somehow blended well with the sauce and ice cream. Hot and cold in a single bite. Definite recommend sharing this dessert — don’t let the mundane description fool you!

Came to Connie and Ted’s to celebrate my mom’s birthday. We were a part of 6 and on an unfortunately warm day we were put outside, with no option of sitting inside. They never even asked. I believe it was because we were a larger party and most of their seating indoors was for the average 2 – 4 persons table. I was pretty disappointed with this straight out of the gate, but it is what it is. Some fans or something to blow some cool air around would have been nice. We decided to order some oysters, grilled calamari and a couple of warm lobster rolls to start off our meal. The oysters were great and fresh. They have a pretty large selection to choose from. Unfortunately our waitress didn’t seem to know much about them so she had to go back and forth with our questions. The grilled calamari was a rather small portion but it was tasty and topped with bread crumbs and arugula. The lobster rolls were a highlight for everyone, the rolls were buttery and crisp yet soft. The lobster was plentiful. The sides were even a hit! The onion rings were piping hot and not too caked in batter and the french fries had the perfect touch of salt. Everyone at our table ordered different items. My husband got a 2lb grilled lobster which was way larger than I had expected — split right down the middle with some drawn butter on the side. I got the fishermans stew which was pretty tasty. The broth however lacked a little flavor and the croutons they give you for dipping were kind of an afterthought to me. I would have rather had their buttery rolls which were so soft and good! My mom got the new england boil dinner, my dad the steak, my cousin the fish and chips. Everyone seemed overall pleased with their meals. For dessert I shared the pecan pie with my cousin. They are individual pies and not a slice like we were expecting. My sister got the devils food cake which looks ridiculously rich but she thought it was moist and delish. Overall, the food was good, but didnt knock me out of my seat and for the bump in price I expected a little bit more.
