Aaron is one of the most educated trainers I’ve come across. Training with him is probably the best decision I’ve made. He takes me through correct mobility exercises to prepare my body for our workouts. He focuses on the personal needs of his clients. In the eight-plus years that I trained Aaron, my personal fitness evolution has had many ebbs and flows, which is why I place such a high value on the consistency and flexibility that Aaron always brought to our working relationship. I work in the marketing services industry, which generally means an inconsistent schedule, extensive travel and lots of stress. Aaron always deftly navigated those lifestyle obstacles to keep me on track with my fitness goals. That meant anything from customized routines I can do on the road to special«stress-relieving workouts» to ongoing encouragement and inspiration. Aaron’s bespoke approach to training ensured that there’s always a way for me to make fitness a priority. I’ve also been impressed with Aaron’s flexibility in adapting to different types of clients and fitness environments. From trendy neighborhood health clubs to hardcore weight training gyms — and from stressed-out executives to stay-at-home moms — I believe Aaron’s client service finesse and adaptable emotional intelligence are key factors to his success. As an «exercise explorer» myself, I tend to need a lot of change in order to prevent boredom(and lapsed commitment). For example, I’ve also fanatically embraced cycling, yoga, swimming and a whole host of cross-training classes during the time I trained with Aaron. He had a real knack for keeping me engaged and interested on that front. When I had favorite new exercises from classes, Aaron was quick to incorporate similar moves into our work together, in order to keep me challenged and enthused. Along the way, I improved, learned and stayed committed. During the time we trained together, I was also faced with an assortment of minor injuries(shoulders, knees, lower back). Every time I was dealing with one of these impediments, I was amazed by Aaron’s knowledge of physiology and his ability to customize our workouts to accommodate the injuries and guide me toward recovery. Any one of those injuries would have been an easy excuse to put my workouts on hold — but Aaron never let me get away with that! As an enthusiastic evangelist for the power of making fitness a regular habit, he knew that keeping me focused through injuries was key to keeping me on track with my fitness goals. Chicago’s loss is truly Los Angeles’ gain!

I have known Aaron for a number of years before I started being trained by him. When he announced three years ago that he was starting his own private personal training business at a non-contract gym in Chicago, I jumped at the chance to be trained by him as I had reached a plateau and outgrown the equipment available at the gym I belonged to. I had been trained by a couple other trainers prior to going with Aaron, and while each trainer was good in their own right, Aaron went above and beyond my previous trainers. In addition to completing the typical initial paperwork and goals for training, he asked that I submit a weekly food diary where he would provide me feedback with my diet by guiding me with what I should keep, get rid of, or add to my diet. I had learned more about my diet from Aaron, than my previous trainers. While being trained by him, I noticed that he is very dedicated to his craft. He strives to maintain his body in shape to not only practice what he preaches, but to be inspiring to his clients. He also concerns himself in making sure that he exhibits a professional appearance and attitude. He takes the time to demonstrate exercises, and observes intently in making sure you maintain correct form. He welcomes his clients to ask questions(e.g., what is the difference between a hack squat and a regular squat?). He is very encouraging, especially when you hit a hiccup, he always finds something positive to say. He seldom cancels sessions unless he’s very sick or out of town. Even when we’re not able to meet for a training session, he is never incommunicado. He strives to continue with his education, and shows with the number of different certifications he has and currently is seeking! Without Aaron’s help, I would not be able to achieve a weight goal prior to him moving to California. Even though I no longer am being trained by Aaron because of his move, he continues to reach out to me to see how well I am working with my new trainer, and asked that I continue to share with him my weekly weigh-ins! If you want a caring, dedicated, hard-working, and professional personal trainer who can help you achieve a healthy lifestyle, you should look no further.

I have had many trainers over the years. One of the things that separates the good trainers from the great trainers is that the great trainers consistently work on themselves alongside you. They take classes, they read, they get new certifications. To me, a truly great trainer is constantly learning, because there is almost always new information coming out about how to improve your health. I have known Aaron for a few years now, and consider him to be one of the best. He listens to you when you talk about your goals, and puts serious thought into how he helps you craft a training program. He is thoughtful, organized, and scrupulous in his attention to detail on your body, your program, and your well-being. He also is constantly reading. When you’re training, he loves to share pieces of information based on the certifications or programs he’s studying. He really shows you how someone can go from point A to B on a practical, easy-to-understand and follow training program because he knows what he’s talking about. I would highly recommend him to all of my friends.

Before I started training with Aaron I hadn’t lifted anything heavier than a cocktail. After a checkup with my doctor I needed to do something drastic. My cholesterol was elevated. If it didn’t change I would have to go on medication. My family also has a history of heart disease aargh not good! I started training with Aaron, we talked about my goals eating habits and current level of activity. We did fitness assessments took necessary measurements too. My personal journey began. It wasn’t easy but I found myself getting stronger. I was eventually able to do things easily that were hard in the beginning. Aaron helped me find my mind and body connection. My doctor was amazed after a month with my cholesterol level and muscle definition I was gaining. With Aaron’s expertise and vast knowledge I look forward to the gym. Exercise is now a form of stress release! Years later I am fortunate to call Aaron my health and fitness mentor and friend.

I have been working with Aaron for six years, and he has trained with me through numerous goals and milestones in my life. I initially came to Aaron after a few years of neglecting my body. Training with him helped me create a new, healthy lifestyle that has become a constant in my life. Aaron is a «complete» trainer, with a wealth of knowledge regarding exercise, nutrition, and an overall healthy way of life. It is also worth mentioning that he «walks the walk,» and is in exemplary shape himself, which is quite inspiring. In my second year of training with Aaron, I began preparing for my wedding. As many people do, I wanted everything to look perfect on my big day, especially my body. I had high standards for this, and the results that I achieved with Aaron were amazing. My dress fit like a glove and every part of my body was toned and well defined. It’s important to note that this was not achieved by fad dieting or any unrealistic last minute workout plan, but through consistent hard work with both exercise and diet in mind. In my fourth year of training with Aaron, I became pregnant with my first child and was highly motivated to stay healthy throughout(and after) my pregnancy. Aaron worked very closely with me, always monitoring my doctors advice and having me check in with her regarding our workouts. We continued these workouts throughout my entire pregnancy, making necessary modifications for my body and heart rate targets. Ultimately, my son was born through an emergency c-section, meaning that I had a somewhat more difficult road to recovery ahead of me. My doctor and all of my nurses were astounded at how quickly I recovered, and this was attributed to the great condition of my body going into surgery. Training with Aaron not only helped me maintain a healthy pregnancy, but significantly impacted the recovery from my surgery. Once I was cleared to exercise again, Aaron helped me work within my doctor’s orders to get back into shape. He was careful to stay within the limits of my post-op orders, while still making sure that we achieved results. I am now in my sixth year of training with Aaron, and in my second pregnancy. I look forward to maintaining another healthy pregnancy and recovery, thanks to Aaron. Aaron is a fabulous trainer, who is more than qualified to prepare his clients for many different stages of life. I am fortunate to have had him along side of me over the past six years, as he has been a great mentor to me. Beyond his incredible personal training skills, Aaron also has a fabulous personality. He is professional, intelligent, supportive, and so enjoyable to be around. Aaron is much more than just a stereotypical trainer who barks orders at you. He is a friend and a motivator, and he has changed my life. I am extremely grateful for my experience with him.
