One of the best Happy Hours in town — due solely to the bartenders Dennis and Alvaro. Fast friendly service with a perfect martini shaken just right. We have so many options around but always seem to end up here with these guys! The music is nice on the weekend and these two take great care with every customer. Great to support local business especially if it’s these two! Great Job!

Went there last night with my daughter for a nice quiet dinner after a hectic day. At first it was nice. It did take awhile for our dinner to arrive, Pizza and Crab Cakes. Then a large group of 8 came in with two little ones in tow. The servers moved two tables right next to us, restaurant was almost empty, with a customers chair up against our table with a high chair and screaming toddler. Really? We explained that we would like more elbow room. Ezekiel, our server told us we could move our table. We were already eating… move the group that just sat down! I asked to see the manager and was told the manager is not there. So no one is watching the place? What a LIE! No apologies at all and he refused to offer anything more. VERYDISAPPOINTEDWITHTHEIRCUSTOMERSERVICE and FOOD! HORRIBLE!

We absolutely loved the food, the service and the ambience at Alessio’s Bistro in West Hills. Our server Alex was fantastic and he has been working at the restaurant for many years. He was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. He told us many of the employees have worked there for years and they have become a family. The food was scrumptious, especially the chicken entrée sautéed with white wine, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes and mushrooms. It was the best chicken entrée I have ever eaten at any restaurant and I told Alex to tell the chef. We are looking forward to the next time we get to dine there. I would highly recommend it! My husband also enjoyed his filet of sole entrée. We want to bring our whole family there soon

Came here a couple nights ago with my dad. Food was delicious and service was on point. Definitely had that 5 star restaurant atmosphere. Gave it 4⁄5 food was a little pricy but your paying for good quality.

Love this place, if you go order the lasagna. It’s the Best. Our Host Daniel always greats us with a smile and finds us a table quickly. Customer service is outstanding that’s why me and the family love coming here.

This place is right around were I grow up as kid. After a night motorcycle ride with 2 of our friends we decided to have dinner here. The indoor atmosphere is dark, almost mid-evil. The bar is quiet eye popping when you walk-in. The outdoor patio is quiet nice and where we ate. We started with calamari, bread with balsamic & olive oil, and bruschetta. The calamari was very tasteless and the Marinara side sauce was chunky and blane. The bread was very good warm very soft and a soft tender flavor, with olive oil and balsamic vinagar perfect. The bruschetta was delecious just flowed perfectly together. Meals we had Farfella alle Genaveso with a Alfredo sauce. Boy ties went well with, but was basically a chicken Alfredo dinner, needed to be spiced up a bit. Cheese tortellini in an alfredo sauce was again very tasteless tortellini tasted chewy not great, the sauce needed to be spiced up. Clams in a spicy pasta sauce was extremely spicey and had a great kick like POW. Two of the clams were not opened, something the cook should be paying attention to exspecially knowing they cannot be eaten. The last dish was a wheat fettucini pasta in a creamy sauce with artichoke, mushrooms, and shrimp. This was also just alright. The artichoke and mushroom were quiet soggy, the shrimp was very chewy and flavorless. I will say I love wheat fettucini and that I applaud. I have a huge thing for tiramisu, thought I would give there’s a shot. Not my style of true tiramisu. It was more like eating cake. I posted some photos even the presentation of the plates was not that appetizing. For the price you’re paying it’s way to high for the quality of the food. I can say the service however was very prompt our waiter was very friendly and always made sure are glasses had water and we were alright. The service and atmosphere was quiet nice, as far as the food definitely not worth the price or the quality of the food. I am someone who hand cooks Italian and it’s kinda more like a Maria calendars tv dinner just plain and blane. The 2 stars goes toward the service, brushetta, bread & balsamic &olive oil. Not sure I would want to even try this place again.

The food is just not good here. On top of that it is overpriced. Two good reasons I almost never eat at Alessio’s. But it was an event for a friend so I was forced to go. This time in addition to expensive, crummy food the service was bad as well. I ordered three items and got the first two in a decent amount of time. The third item never came. I waited and waited. I asked the waiter, Alex, a number of times«where was my food?». He would reply«oh I will get it now,» but would never come back. People that ordered food way after me got their food before I got mine. Clearly something had gone wrong. This was particularly irritating since I ate almost nothing during the day and was hungry. I finally did get my food but thought to myself that I was not going to give Alex a good tip. I get my bill and a 5.00 tip was added to it. I told him I did not want to give a 5.00 tip because I received bad service. Actually it is not uncommon for a restaurant to take an item off the bill if they mess it up. Not this place. Additionally, Alex had the gall to tell me they can refuse service to me in the future if I don’t pay the tip! So they give me crummy service and then when I don’t want to give a 20 percent tip they get upset. What’s wrong with this pic? A lot. I say run fast and far from Allessio’s and their crummy food and bad service!

Literally sitting in Alessios with my friend, only one person sitting at the bar w/my waiter. My drinking glass is dirty my friend would like some cheese for their salad. I don’t feel like I should have to yell across the restaurant to get my waiters attention. Their service blows.

I suspect the lasagne that I was served tonight was made months ago, dropped into a deep freeze and then microwaved. Awful. No flavor. Dry and hard in most places. Husband ordered the tasteless meatballs and spaghetti. Shockingly overpriced for frozen then nuked food.($ 35 for the 2 dishes? Highway robbery). Won’t be going back. SO not worth it.

The place seemed quit on the outside, but once you open the door the place is happening– live music, packed with people. The atmosphere was very good, the food was delicious, the music was nice and made the experience better. I was happy to discover this place near home, and would defiantly go back there many times!

We came here for a romantic night out with the hubby. Upon arrival we were seated in the back, so we couldn’t really see the band that was playing. BUT there was a live band playing which was pretty cool. We ordered minestrone soup, and Alfredo chicken, and lasagna. The portions are pretty large in my opinion. The soup I felt like was lacking something. Italian food is my favorite, so this wasn’t my first rodeo, but I was a little disappointed with the flavor. The lasagna was amazing. Very flavorful, not too soggy, and not too much sauce. I didn’t taste my husbands food so I can’t comment. As far as romantic, it was pretty loud inside so this won’t be a place we’ll be coming back to whenever we want to «rekindle the romance». It’s a cool tucked away spot inside a shopping plaza, and maybe had we sat outside it would have been cuter? It is pricy in my opinion. For the location, and service, I didn’t feel as though our bill should have been over $ 50.(Mind you we didn’t order any drinks or wine) I’m giving it four starts not five because of the following; The soup was disappointing, it was pretty loud and pricey, and our waiter did not seem to really want to be there at all. Other then that everything was great. :)

By myself for dinner. Told the host party of 1 and I would like to sit at the bar. I had to request a menu but he did tell me it was still happy hour. When I was finished with my meal I heard someone request the specials menu, thanks for the info if there is a next time. Service was ok, not great. I ordered. Off the happy hour menu. The open face steak sandwich. I was served bruschetta which was good, the rolls with garlic and oil were great. My glass of wine was cheap, the little steak came with a little salad, but for $ 7 it was a fare price. If I come back I will sit at a table and order a regular dinner. It may make the experience. I came here often 10 – 15 years ago and the feeling was better. I moved away and have not been here in a long time. Oh well it was a cheap dinner

Food and service are very good. Always friendly wait staff. Great hot, fragrant rolls, served with freshly chopped garlic and olive oil, as well as bruschetta as soon as one is seated. Carlos had hot coffee ready for me as soon as I walked in, even though I come in once every few weeks, he remembered that I like it. LOVE that they have live music on Fri and Sat nights. Dave is terrific!

Consistent, but consistently confusing. I think Alessio struggles to find their identity. Is it a piano bar, sports bar, elegant dining room, take-out joint, or kids party site… it has elements of all and that makes the experience much less than it should be. Focus! The kids birthday party last night(about 30 well-behaved little girls detracted from the experience in a rather negative way even though they were very well behaved… and I’m extremely tolerant of kids) and the constant loitering of folks picking up their to-go meals made me wish I were elsewhere(even though they, too, were well behaved). Let’s address first things first. Waiter offered beverages but when asked for a drink menu disappeared for a few minutes, only to reappear with the story that the drink menu is under development and will be available next week. What good does that do me… and why is this same story told months ago by other Unilocalers? The result was ordering a pig-in-the-poke wine. It was decent wine but it would have been nice to know what was being offered. The menu is big and has nice diversity of choices. After commenting on the number of choices the waiter mentioned that it once was much larger. I can’t imagine. The list of specials was about 8 or 10. But the list was spoken with no description at all and no price mentioned. I don’t want to have to sound like a skin-flint and have to ask… so not even considered. What a waste of time. Bread — okay but a bit gummy inside. Not sure if it is brown-and-serve or not, but it looked and tasted like it could use a few more minutes in the oven. Garlic oil was tasty and very garlicky. Complimentary bruschetta was nice. The food is OK but not what I’m considering spectacular. But it is mostly the small things that are detracting. My chicken dish was really nice looking and the sauce was extremely good, but I had to salt the chicken. The side pasta was rather bland but the veg were excellent — fresh, well-prepared, and well-seasoned. The seafood risotto also very good looking. Unfortunately an unopened clam made me wonder if the cook needs more light in the kitchen. The calamari linguine had my mouth watering… but it was someone else’s meal. Too bad for me. After the bill was dropped we seem to have been abandon. The waiter moved on to the children’s party and we sat, sat, sat before having to ask another waiter to process our check. Five guys working the room and five tables occupied(plus the party) and we get abandon… Interestingly, as we were getting in the car I noticed the waiter had finally made it to our table and was checking his tip. Sure would have been a lot nicer(for both of us) had he been there earlier… before we left. We never got to say goodbye. So here it is… good bye. Maybe sometime in the future we can do that in a more congenial manner.

I was put off by some of the previous Unilocal reviews so it took me a couple years to stop in here, even though I live a two minute drive up the hill. Finally, we had a babysitter for a couple hours and wanted something local, so we decided to give it a try, and I am happy we did. Food was good… loved the complimentary Bruschetta, salad, and calamari. Husband said the Minestrone soup was a little bland. A couple pieces of Salmon in my pasta were pretty mushy, but the sauce was good. I had a nice glass of the house Chianti. Service was decent overall as well. Carlos, our server, was pretty attentive, although we had to wait awhile for the check, and with a babysitter at home, that costs money :) Piano player(Dave) was awesome, and really made us feel like we weren’t in a strip mall next to the Dollar Tree.

The clams had way too much garlic, and I tasted sand. Then I ordered Halibut, and it tasted very weird. Way too much lemon. I felt sick all day long after eating here.
