5 stars doesn’t even do Drafthouse Cinema justice. You can watch a movie with plenty of elbow room and leg room in a classy environment, while getting real food and a real drink for less money than going to a big box theater and getting the lousy, overpriced fountain soda and popcorn bucket. You gain admission with only 5 bucks. They have soft drinks, beer and wine for reasonable prices. And the food is high quality and well priced, especially for a movie theater. For example, the Philly cheesesteak clocks in around 9 dollars and rivals any cheesesteak in Philadelphia. The menu features lower cost items that also satisfy the movie-dinner package. And the service is generally top rate. Drafthouse Cinema is a daringly innovative venue in a town that doesn’t have a reputation for embracing new innovations. Hopefully they inspire enough patrons to continue their format.

My former fiancé and I went here back in 2006 or 2007 and we had such a great time. The movie price can’t be beat at $ 5. And the food prices were reasonable. The dining/viewing area was clean and the servers attentive. We loved that we could sit and eat dinner while watching a movie and even have a glass of wine too. Great place to go if you live in or around Hazleton. I just have to find a place like this in Ohio now.
