i love Luna’s! their pizza is fantastic! We order it at least every 6 days. My only grievance is that the shrimp, while delicious, is very expensive as a pizza topper. Ill deal with the price because of the quality. But on the pizza we had delivered today, it was very sparse, and the shrimp were cut in half. Dont charge $ 5 extra for a medium… then give half the shrimp… that doesnt work for me. Other wise this place is delicious.

I’ve had pizza from Luna both in the restaurant and take-out at school events. For the most part, the pizza is solid. The crust is nice and crisp, and the sauce is flavorful. Toppings are hit or miss. I thought the margherita and vegetable pizzas were forgettable, although I did appreciate the addition of eggplant parm to the vegetable pizza. The standout when I dined in was the buffalo chicken pizza, which was nicely balanced and just the right amount of heat. However, a few days ago, I had this pizza take-out at a school event and found there to be way too much hot sauce, which made the pizza unpleasantly sour. I never waste pizza, even bad pizza, but I had to throw my slices out. I’ve also had the grinders before, and they were only okay. The bigger problem I have with this place is the price of pizza, which is uncomfortably expensive for what is essentially flour, yeast, tomatoes, and cheese. It wouldn’t be such an issue if the large pizzas were actually large, but they looked more like medium-sized. I get that it’s Blue Back Square, but when there’s so many other dining options around, do I really want to spend a lot of money on pizza? The interior is warm and cozy, and service was fine. Based on my most recent buffalo chicken pizza though, I’m not sure how often I’ll be back.

I’ve tried Luna Pizza a handful of times. I’ve had the hawaiian and white pie salmon but I somehow find myself always gravitating to the medium veggie or margherita pizza. Thin crust, chunky red sauce, crunchy/chewy — it’s decent pizza for West Hartford Center, but pricing can be more than what you’re used to. The usual appetizers(wings and garlic bread), simple salads, calzones, and sandwich grinders are available too if you’re not in the mood for a pie. When dining in, the staff is attentive and friendly and the dining room is comfortable and straight-forward. There is available outdoor seating is during the warmer months too Sunday-Thursday: closes at 9pm Friday-Saturday: closes at 10pm

Good pizza! Get the white pizza with bacon and ricotta! Nice wait staff and good food experience after a cold winter hike up Talcott Mountain!

This is gonna sound crazy but I moved to California and I have nightmares because I know I’ll never get to have this pizza any time soon. I should drop the amount of stars since they don’t do deliveries some 3,000 miles away but whatever. Easily some of the best pizza you can eat in the state. I would buy a plane ticket just to eat it again. I never ordered by the slice. I would just get a whole medium/large pizza and eat it myself in the restaurant. I’m dedicated to the craft.

The WORST service I have ever had in a restaurant. HANDSDOWN. I had called and ordered 3 grinders and 2 pizzas. Over the phone, the girl confirmed my order. When I got there, of course one of the grinders was missing, she said it was never put on the order. The girl said that it would be 3 – 5 minutes to get it together, I said that was fine. So I waited. And waited. And waited. 30 min later, I still didn’t have it, even though everyone working there saw me standing there the whole time. I went up to the front and asked on the status. The guy looks down, picks up a grinder, and said«it’s been sitting here for 25 minutes». No one EVER told me it was ready or handed anything to me, even though it was sitting there the whole time! NOAPOLOGY, nothing! Because of this, my pizza and grinders were all cold when I got home, and I was late trick-or-treating with my daughter. A complete waste of $ 70 and an hour of my life I will never get back! AVOIDTHISPLACE!!! There are much better restaurants with great pizza in the area, that actually treat their customers well.

The best Margarita pizza I’ve ever had in my entire life. I literally had my mom drive an hour and a half to west hartford to try it! ! :)

Great pie! I had tomato and spinach and the crust held up excellently against generous toppings. We also got the Sicilian and this was very good yet different from the fluffy doughy cheesey creations of NJ. Firmer and crispier.

We stopped in and had a medium sized pizza with mozzarella cheese, red sauce, bacon, mushrooms and onions. Overall the pizza was ok, but the bacon was salty and the crust didn’t stand up to the plate. It was crisp and had a good crunch in the thickest part of the pizza which is the edge, but the center was almost soggy. The pizza crust needs to be firm and crisp all the way throughout the entire pie. Its not a bad little place. Lots of good things here, but its 3 stars for me. Pros: –Friendly staff. –Reasonably priced food. –Outside seating is available.

I LOVE Luna! DELICIOUS! Earlier this week, I didn’t feel like cooking dinner so I stopped in to Luna for some takeout. After ordering a medium margherita pizza, I drove the mile home and opened a still piping-hot box of pie. I’ve had(and loved) my fair share of shitty greasy drunk pizza and this definitely is not it. This is DINNERPIZZA. The sauce was chunky and slightly sweet, cheese plentiful(but not overwhelming) and crust chewy and delectable. In the land of greasy 3am pizza joints, I’m happy to have found Luna.

Had a Groupon for Luna Pizza. Stopped by on a quiet Wednesday evening. We had an Antipasto for 2. The ingredients were fresh and it was just the right size for us. We also had garlic bread which was delicious. The pizza was absolutely delicious. Would come here more often if it was closer. Highly recommended. My only complaint was that the draft beer didn’t taste exactly right, not sure why.

Pizza is a GO! I was picking up two chicken parm grinders to go, and couldn’t resist but grab a slice of the classic cheese pizza to eat while I waited. Thin crust, crispy, slightly chewy, and cheesy — but not the type of cheese that oozes off and slides off when you pick it up, the kind of mozzarella that picks up with every bite, yum! I would definitely come back for a pie to go, or to eat inside because the dining hall is really cool in my opinion, very open, lots of space, and definitely mood lighting is a must! I noticed they have an outdoor patio that is also probably open during the summer too! Unfortunately, the grinders weren’t as great as I anticipated, and they were so saucy that the bread was soggy, and a little«goopy» but that’s ok! Pizza for dinner next time. Also, this is a cheap way to enjoy West Hartford Center without emptying your wallet on some of the more high-end restaurants. Enjoy!

After months of eating mediocre pizza in Hartford, I found Luna Pizza. My cousin from Boston was in town and she said she was craving pizza, I was really skeptical but I’m glad I came here! Kept it simple: Caesar salad, meatball sliders and a medium pepperoni pizza. The crust was thin and crisp, the pizza had the right amount of seasoning, cheese and toppings. If I came back I could live without the sliders but they were still good. Moral of the story: everyone has to get pizza here!

We live in NY but every time we drive on 84 we have to stop at Luna Pizza — each way from our trip! The thin crust margherita pizza is my favorite but we have to order 3 pizza’s to satisfy the family(Buffalo Chicken and Hawaiian)! Typical meal times are always busy here. We have eaten both indoors and outside(weather permitting). The restaurant is large and can accommodate generous size groups. You are not limitied to pizza! you will find a nice selection of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and for the finale — Gelato! During our vistis the staff has always been delightful and we look forward to each visit as we travel back and forth from NY to MA. Enjoy!

I love Luna Pizza! Huge portions, a little pricy but there always seems to be a Groupon floating around(which I always buy!) Favorite pizza is the veggie. The fried eggplant is SO good. The sauce is sweet, the crust is chewy, its loaded with veggies. It’s a great pie!

I hadn’t been here in a while, then bought a groupon so I went for lunch and had a veggie pizza. The pizza didn’t seem to have much flavor and the veggies were a bit overcooked. I was disappointed as I recall having better pizzas here. Bottom line is that if it’s a veggie pizza I’m looking for, this is not at all the place I’d choose to get one from, I’d stay in Newington where I’ve found a couple that I absolutely love! We were double charged for a beer but mistakes happen and the waitress quickly corrected the bill once I pointed it out.

Luna pizza is nothing like its counterpart of the same name in middletown/Cromwell. The pizza here is all very good(for thin crust) and they are not skimpy with toppings. the only downside to Luna is that it can be a tad expensive for a pizza place, however there are plenty of groupons that will bring it down.

Look, I’m from NYC and grew up good pizza. I hate admitting when I find good pizza outside of my hood, but the fact is Luna pizza is really damn good! My husband, who grew up in the area and actually used to deliver pizza for Luna a million years ago took me here. It was fun to finally see the place he spoke about. It was rather empty when we showed up for a super early dinner, but people started to trickle in. We ordered a few beers, hung out and enjoyed a number of pies. I loved the margarita pie with fresh basil and sausage — yum!!! Everyone else was going hog wild for pizza with all sorts of crazy toppings. Overall, it was delicious with a thin crust, tasty sauce and lots of melted cheese. The staff was nice and they have a lot of space so large parties aren’t an issue. I would definitely eat here again!

I have always loved their pizza but decided to order calzones. I had them deliver my order which is always convenient. As soon as they delivered the ordered I anxiously opened it right up but I was very disappointed to find that the it was barely luke warm. The cheese was solid, not even melted. Also the sauce was cold which did not add to my enjoyment. It was almost as if it was cooked an hour ago and left on the oven to stay warm. I had to reheat it in order to get any enjoyment out of it. Also the topping that I ordered, meatballs, were limited to the center and not spread out. I am very disappointed in their calzones, stick to their pizza.

This is real pizza for me. Many years ago, before I could appreciate real pizza, there used to be one closer to home. When I found out there was a location in West Hartford, I really wanted to try it but the city’s parking can be horrendous. Anyway, stopped in today for a pepperoni/sausage combo and I must say it’s going to be hard going back to the fake stuff. In terms of the service, I only went for takeout but the folks inside seemed friendly enough. This pizza is best when hot but the flavor is irresistible at any temperature. Try this gem and enjoy! Delish!
