Harry’s is one of my favorite pizza places in CT. I’ve been to Harry’s numerous times and the pizza is consistently good. I usually start with a house salad as I’m addicted to their salad dressing. If you’re dining in and there are multiple people in your party the wait staff is really great about getting you a «family» size salad. Their large pizza will feed three or more people no problem. Their small pizza is good for 2 to 3(not so hungry) people. I’m a huge fan of their summer pie with the fresh tomatoes, cheese and basil… SOGOOD! I really haven’t picked a bad pizza there. Another great thing about Harry’s is the price, the price of the pizza is reasonable and then the price of the drinks is on point! At the end of your meal you get a nice lemon ice to cleanse your palette. In West Hartford Center there is FREE parking in front of Harry’s if you’re a customer.

When you start a breakfast review by saying that the eggs, pancakes and bacon used the best quality ingredients and were all cooked perfectly you would expect a rave review. This isn’t one of them. It’s amazing that Harry’s could be so technically proficient and so lacking in flavor. Someone needs to introduce the cook to his seasoning. Please. You spend $ 25 for two breakfasts and you deserve thoughtful attention by the man on the grill(or woman). But what was worse was the home fries. These were small chopped potatoes dropped into an underrated fryer and served without onion, pepper or any seasoning. Due to the under cooked fryer they did come with their own oil slick. They were a waste of space on my plate and returned as is: flavorless and greasy.

This five stars is base on the food we ate. It was phenomenal! If I were rating the service it’d be more like a 3. A few words on the service. It was a Saturday, but it wasn’t very busy. However, it took several minutes to be seated at one of the many open tables, and then we didn’t get acknowledged by a waitress for at least another 5 minutes. The meal service was good, but then we had to wait a bit at the end for the check. This all while we watched another couple wait a few minutes to be seated and then be ignored for another 5+ minutes by waitresses, to the point where he had to ask for someone to serve them… Hopefully this was an off night for service because the food was great! Wings, Salad, and pizza. That’s basically what’s offered here. Limited menu, but I Guess they are concentrating on what they are good at and it seems to be working quite well. We had a Mediterranean salad and loaded potato white pie. Salad was great, as was the dressing. The pizza was phenomenal. See the pic… I liked this even better than the one I would typically drive to get from Bar in New Haven. The pizza was a special, but it is a MUST if you see it on the menu!

You can’t just rate your dine-in experience based on taste and quality of food. Service and cleanliness are equally important. This is where Harry’s lacks excellence. I was extremely disappointed with the performance of the restaurant as a whole when my family and I went out for pizza the other night. Once I was down to half a glass of water, I noticed crud at the bottom. I ordered another one; more crud. By that point, I thought it would be better not to know if there was anything in my drink. I tried ordering an iced tea; however, the waiter couldn’t remember so I had to tell him again. Shocking, since the restaurant wasn’t even that crowded. FORTYSTINKIN’ MINUTESLATER, the pizza came out! YAY!!! Except one of the pizzas was covered with lox, which we specifically said we didn’t want. This pizza was free, but no one wanted to eat it, not even after we’d worked up an appetite from waiting for so long. Bottom line — save the $ 26 it costs for a pizza and make a meal for yourself. I’ve lived in West Hartford all my life and thought Harry’s was decent, but now I have no intention of going back. The place was taking more pizzas out of the oven for take-out customers than for customers dining in. Come on Harry’s, get some common sense!

Not freindly. Food is overpriced. Slices only in morning. Tastes greasy and bland. Atmosphere meh.

Best pizza I’ve ever had in this state and its not close. Been going to Harrys since late 90s. Their sausage pizza is amazing but really any topping is great. This place doesn’t look great on outside but wonderful pizza and must try. Friendly staff and always on time with to go order. Salad dressing(only have 1) is awesome too. It’s homemade and only choice but excellent. Only thing is they charge for extra which I don’t like. Size of salad is big so you need at least 2 containers of dressing. Anyway pizza is top of line! Love love love this place.

Got 3 stars because pizza deserves nothing less. But this place is over priced, try’s way to hard to be artesian, fancy, high-end and does NOT deliver. Advertises slices but only serves them until 4 in the afternoon. Unfortunately there is no good pizza in WH center. Very very disappointing, was hoping for better.

This place is great. We had a large cheese/margarita to go. It’s great local CT/New haven style pizza place. Price is a little on the steeper side but it’s great quality. Please note that this is not the same chain as Harry’s Bishops Corner. Definitely like bishops corner way better, but this is a great alternative if you are in the area and can’t make the 10 min drive down to HBC. Again, I’ll probably come back eventually, but it wasn’t something extremely memorable/unforgettable. I would pick this over Pepe’s West Hartford though.

Pizza is among the best in West Hartford along with Backstage. However weekend breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. Pancakes are fantastic, but they have no idea how to do an omelette, unless you enjoy them flat and tasteless.

I have to give them another shot but I picked up a half-cheese half-pizza and it was too salty and overcooked. I have heard good things about them which is why I gave them a shot. The pizza I had was so bad that I almost feel like it had to be a fluke.

I’m pizza obsessed, and I’ve been that way for most of my 28 years on this earth. I love Chicago style pizza, but Neapolitan is of course my go-to. I’ve enjoyed a lot of delicious Brooklyn and New Haven slices over the years. All of the greats – Lombardi’s, Totonno’s and Grimaldi’s in NYC, Pepe’s and Sally’s in New Haven. They’re all excellent, but Harry’s is my favorite. I’ve been eating pies from Harry’s Pizza West Hartford Center since I was 7 years old, coming home from my peewee football practice. And every time I get Harry’s, I get rewarded with an amazing pie, overflowing with flavor. They use native plum tomatoes in their sauce and it’s dry and zesty, avoiding the sweetness that other sauces can overdo. They let the fluffy and creamy buffalo mozzarella add the sugar to the mix. And it works. They put just enough garlic and olive oil to balance the acidity in the tomatoes, and what seems like some dry Parmesan to add an edge. The combination is amazing. Their crust takes the cake of any I’ve had – it’s perfectly crispy and thin, practically melting in your mouth with every bite. Harry’s pie recipe has obvious similarities to Sally’s and Pepe’s, but it’s a little bit saltier and crispier. There’s more flavor overall. Their best pies are their plane cheese, their pepperoni, their sausage and peppers and their Margherita. And unlike Pepe’s, you’ll never get a charred, bubbled or otherwise half-assed pizza during peak hours. Their West Hartford Center location is sort of the classic pizza joint. It’s not a candle-lit ornate work of art, but it’s homey and comfortable. Most important, it’s extremely clean. It’s great for a night out with your girl, before a movie at Blue Back Square, or for a pint and slices with your boys. The other Harry’s that claims to be «the original», located at Bishop’s corner, is solid but it’s significantly behind this place in overall quality.

We will never go back to Harry’s in the Center again. I ordered 2 pizzas at 5:30pm today for a 6:20pm pickup. When my husband arrived using the name I had given the woman who took our order, he was told they took no such call for a small cheese less pizza with spinach, onions pepperoni, pepper & another large cheese pizza with pepperoni & veggies. While my husband was there, they displayed no interest or concern nor did they try to help resolve the problem. He left with a very bad sense of Harry’s in the Center. We have ordered & obtained pizza in the past & also noted at those times that the staff do not seem happy with their jobs. Unfortunately, we will be going to a different pizza place from now on. I hope they can change their approach.

Great pie! Thin crust with good sauce. The sausage was a bit hard to find but I didn’t bother questioning as the rest was great. The salad was good although I didn’t care for the sun dried tomato vinegarette dressing(the wife did).

To preface this review, I grew up on New Haven pizza. Harry’s pizza is fantastic. We had an onion and bacon pizza last night and it was just as good as anything I’ve had down on Wooster Street or at Modern or Bar in New Haven. The waitress was delightful. We asked her if one garden salad was enough for two and she said it certainly was, but when she brought it to us, she let us know she’d asked it to be a bit larger than usual. Nice. Pizza was excellent. Bacon was crisped, no soggy dough. We will be back!

Good pizza and chicken wings. High prices! I ordered a large cheese pie with extra mozzarella, a large Hawaiian pie, a large salad, 20 chicken wings and 2 large bottles of soda for take out. I paid $ 77 and had to ask for a receipt. I still think I paid too much. Not impressed. Won’t be going back.

I hesitate to let this glorious West Hartford secret out… Harry’s Pizza has THE best brunch in town. I know it sounds crazy that a pizza shop beats out the fancier restaurants in the square and the center, but one bite of the sage apple sausage waffle will make you a believer. Reasonable prices, never a line, easy free parking and even a secret menu(pancake sliders, yes!). Will update once we actually try the pie…

I think that pizza is a pretty personal thing, especially when it comes to CT-NY-Chicago pizza rivalries. That said, I really really like Harry’s. They excel in thin crust — I’d say more NY than New Haven, as it’s thin, crispy yet chewy — no real char. Oh, and slices are even, not crazy madness a la Sally’s or Pepe’s. Every specialty pie I’ve had has been fantastic — well-proportioned toppings, each slice flavorful yet not soggy. I particularly like the Assisi, which is a white pizza with jalapeño, tomato, feta, and basil. DELICIOUS. The Godfather and the Godmother are equally delicious. Oh, and you really can’t go wrong with the incredibly simple in its fresh ingredients margherita. Again, I think pizza taste is unique and personal, but if you enjoy NY-style thin crust with perfectly balanced toppings, then I’d say Harry’s is the perfect spot for you.

Pretty tasty pizza joint tucked behind the center. I’ve been here a couple of times and enjoyed the food every time. The fajita pizza is tasty and I loved the Harry’s special. The crust is more on the thinner side if that’s your thing. The toppings are fresh and they don’t skimp out at all. I wished this place delivered.

There is a lot of good pizza in the area, and Harry’s falls into the top tier. With a thin, crispy but chewy crust, perfect distribution of sauce and cheeses, it’s a great pie, and no wonder that Harry’s has been a Hartford area favorite for years. Pizza is what Harry’s does well, and they don’t try to fill up their menu with a bunch of other stuff. Pizza, salad, and beer(or soda). Some might call it the perfect meal. A large cheese pizza is $ 16.99. Not cheap, not overpriced. Two of is enjoyed a few slices each and had about half a pie leftover. However, if you start getting into toppings or specialty pizzas, the costs can quickly add up. I enjoyed a nice Harpoon IPA, and my only suggestion would be to add more beers of that quality. Also, the folks there are very nice– friendly, efficient service awaits. And the little cup of Italian Ice that comes with the bill is such a charming touch.

Went for dinner with a friend who works in Hartford. I haven’t been up to WH center in a long time, having been an alumni of UHA. Believe it or not, I had never heard of, nor eaten at Harry’s while in college, probably due to lack of money/transportation to eat off campus. Anyway, I had heard more recently that their pizza is as good as New Haven pizza, made the same way… thin crust, so I was excited to give it a try. Restaurant looks very unassuming from the outside… small looking with a long and narrow interior. It appears that they do a busy take out service as I saw many customers in and out, in a short period around 6pm on a Friday. They do have a smallish free parking lot right outside which is very convenient for WH center. Restaurant itself is casual and low key. There are wooden booths and some tables with bench seating on one side. It was not very busy for eat-in, which was surprising on a Friday night. My companion and I each got our own small pizzas. They only offer smalls or large sizes. Their menu is just pizza and some salads. No other apps or starters. They have one page of specialty pizzas which all looked very tasty. I decided to make my own with half mushrooms and half roasted red peppers(per the waitresses suggestion). My companion had hers with bacon and extra sauce(although hers did not look to have extra sauce compared to mine). Pizzas are a little pricey… some of the small specialty ones are between $ 14-$ 18. A plain small mozz is $ 11, with toppings around $ 1.50 each. We both enjoyed our pizzas which were cooked perfectly, crust crispy and baked evenly. No complaints whatsoever on the appearance or taste. The slices are very neat for eating… no excess cheese hanging off, no excess grease… just a clean, even slice perfect for eating with your hands. Since the pizzas are quite thin, I easily could have polished off the entire small on my own. I did control myself and save 3 pieces to take home. We also ordered sodas which came in a pint glass and later got free refills automatically from the waitress. They also serve a mini scoop of lemon sorbet as an after dinner item. My only complaint was I didn’t know there were«specials» until walking out. Guess we missed the signage upon entering. It would have been nice if the waitress told us about them when we were seated. She was pleasant and attentive otherwise. Being somewhat of a pizza snob, I easily admit that Harry’s is high up in my list of favorites. Hope to stop in again when visiting West Hartford.
