I was looking for someone to come by once or twice a month near the end of my pregnancy and for a few months after I have my baby to do the floors and bathrooms. I contacted YGM and they seemed reasonable. For the first visit, I told them that I wanted mainly the floors and bathrooms done– specifically the bathtub scrubbed well. I also wanted the fridge wiped out on this first visit, but likely wouldn’t need that again. Repeatedly, I stated that the floors and bathrooms were my top priorities because, being nearly 9 months pregnant, it’s difficult for me to scrub the bathtub, etc. They sent out 4 women who were polite and I again reiterated my priorities. The house was pretty clean when they arrived, so I assumed it could be done in four«maid hours». So I paid them and went about my day, running errands and whatnot. When I got home, I was very disappointed to find that they just did an ok job. The hardwood was swept and mopped, but very cloudy. The bathrooms were clean, but the bathtub upstairs, the only one that needed scrubbed, was certainly not cleaned to my standard. The fridge looked amazing, but the kitchen floor had not been touched. Knowing I wanted recurring service, I waited for them to reach back out to me for a follow up and they never did, which is ok by me because, obviously, I wouldn’t pay them to come back out. I’m disappointed it didn’t work out. I’d hoped to set something up before having to deal with that AND a newborn, but we can’t say we didn’t try. My response to Troy: yes, I had asked the baseboards and dusting be done *if* there was time. These items were not done either, but I didn’t mention that in my original review because my I repeatedly stated My biggest concern, top priorities were the floors and the bathrooms. If four women can’t handle 2.5 bathrooms and a sweep/mop of the main floor then I don’t know what to say. Furthermore, in terms of my paying and leaving, isn’t that how it’s done? Am I supposed to stand over four professional cleaning women to ensure that they are doing it properly? Haha I don’t know, but that seems awkward. And in my email I stated that I would show them the problem areas and then leave them to it. Seems like standard protocol to me. The women were very pleasant and nice and maybe if they’d had more time they would’ve gotten to the baseboards and dusting, but the not cleaning the bathtub properly is just negligent and nothing more. I fail to believe that someone spent a significant amount of time(i.e., an hour) in that bathroom and missed the moldy tile grout and other moldy areas of the tub. And also, I did say I wanted to set up recurring service and I told the girls that too. I’m curious as to how saying«I’d like to have someone over once or twice a month» wouldn’t warrant a follow up. especially since you found plenty of time to respond to my Unilocal review, which I did not ask for a response to. Modern day customer service at its finest. I appreciate the public offer to rectify the situation, but at this point, weeks later, I’ve already had it taken care of.

Based on a friend’s recommendation, I contacted You’ve Got Maids on short notice and was able to get in the same week. Owner is super friendly as is the cleaning crew! They arrived on time and were efficient. Didn’t waste any time at all! They got everything done that I had requested in the allotted time. I wish I had known about this company sooner. The cleaning ladies were so lovely I tipped them with a gift card to cover lunch and dinner. They are so much better than the maid service I hired via AngiesList. Wish I got rid of them sooner! Unlike You’ve Got Maids, they didn’t speak English and was hard to communicate with. *will definitely be using You’ve Got Maids again!
