Romantica

I love this little boutique!!! Romantica has so many unique pieces from tops and dresses to handcrafted jewelry. I visited Romantica not too long ago and had a wonderful experience from the moment I walked in the door. The owner, Hanan, introduced herself and then let me shop and look around without constantly hounding me like they do in other boutiques. After trying on a dozen of beautiful dresses, she helped me to find the perfect dress for my special night out! Prices were not too expensive, especially for something that you aren’t really going to find anywhere else.
Be prepared to be complimented when you are out wearing clothes from Romantica!

I cannot believe the reviews written about Hannan not paying attention or being rude… she is a gem! Always super-​sweet and helpful. I never leave there dissatisfied. If you have a MICHE bag (or want another) this is the place to find one. The hand-​made jewelry and accessories are one-​of-​a-​kind and the prices are super-​reasonable. The dresses and clothing is always very cute and I think this boutique is so quaint! CHECK IT OUT!

I went in there the other day after setting aside quite a bit of time to look through the huge selection I found to exist there after my first visit. I asked if the owner Hanan might help me pick something out for a more casual wedding. She was fantastic! I had to tell her the date time and location and she got me started with five great and appropriate selections. I found my dress in the first bunch. I showed her all of them and she gave a very unbiased opinion. One looked awful and she immediately told me to take it off. I never felt like she was trying to up sell me either. With the perfect dress in tow I ended up spending half of what I had budgeted and was able to get a great pair of earrings to match. It was a great experience and I left feeling very confident about what I was walking away with. Her prices are great and you can really find something for any body type (a must to any store in my opinion) I have a second wedding coming up and I can’t wait to see what she has in her store then!

I live in the Dundee area, and have driven by this store often. I finally made a stop there the other day to look for just the right dress for a Caribbean vacation. I was drawn in by some dresses on display in the front window and on a mannequin out front, so I decided to come in and take a look. I admit, there were some really cute items in the store, and I did find several things to try on, however, the fun ended there. The store owner needs some serious lessons in customer service. I found her to be extremely rude to me, as well as the other customer in the store at the time. For one, I heard her yell at another customer for not picking the dresses up off the floor while she was still in there trying things on. Then, I heard her tell another girl who asked for a medium in one style of dress «ma’am, I gave you the largest size we have»! The poor girl looked mortified. I was appalled that she would yell such a thing, suggesting the woman had a weight problem. Then I asked the owner if she found her merchandise on the Internet, and she said «what do you mean? I hand pick everything.» She never cracked a smile, and she was very snippy, short, and rude. My husband, who was in the store with me, could not believe the manner in which this woman treated me and rest of the customers in the store. I will also say, there was a room in back with extra merchandise, and I noticed a couple skirts that I had in my own closet that I got at Target with the tag removed. Coincidence??? I gave this review one star due to the fact that there were some cute items in there, and it was nicely setup, but the owner of Romantica should have taken a course on PR before deciding to open a shop the deals with the public. I will not recommend this store!

So I finally got to check this place out after about the fourth or fifth time I asked my friend where she got what she was wearing she would say «Romantica»
Wow! Where do I even start with this place… Romantica is an adorable little boutique in the cute shopping area of downtown West Dundee. Everything in the store is ultra feminine and there is a little something for just about any age group from 20-​somethings to probobly 50+.
The vast majority of the items are bright, fun colors, things with flirty prints, ruffles, rhinestones, and what have you. The store is organized by color, with the bright colors in the front, and the more subdued colors (black, brown, grey, tan) are in the back. They also have jewelry, shoes, and accessories.
There is nothing ultra casual in the store, so everything you put on makes your feel glam and would be great for vacation or dates or a fun night out. There is a lot to look at so it is a little overwhelming, but once you wade through all of it you will find something fabulous!

Stopped in specifically to buy dresses for the wife. We do 3 Caribbean vacations a year & she wanted a few items in the window. Walked in. No greeting, owner actually walked away without a word. Tried on dresses, walked around to see how they looked, had questions. No help for 10 minutes & still no acknowledgement of our existence We just brought the dresses up front, where I was told to put them on a rack! Why take them from me, thank me for visiting or anything like that. Went to Huntley Oulet BCBG Max Azria, attentive, polite, acknowledging & helpful staff — the greatest! spent $ 800 and went away happy.
I ran 26 stores for Goodyear, trained hundreds of sales people, won awards for customer service, etc,. So I feel I can judge fairly. Maybe a bad day? don’t think so. Second time its happened. Came back to be fair and give them another chance. Nice place, beautiful things. would’ve dropped a grand.

The items here are gorgeous and worth a look. Parking isn’t the best but it’s a quick walk from the lot behind the building.
