Visited for the first time shortly before the holidays and I was impressed. I had heard good things but had never visited until we went on a lunch meeting for work. I was very impressed once inside, the looks from the outside(though it appears nice) are deceiving as to what is inside. I like that you can see the brewery equipment and that they’ve used it as part of their décor. The food was very good and the server was good also. Would like to come back in the future.

This is one of my go-to places in West Dundee. All of their food is great. My favorite is their nachos with beef and beer cheese. The service has always been good. If you come on a weekend for dinner expect to wait.

This is a bit late. I was at Emmitt’s on Halloween 2001. I had been in Elgin on business for three days. I still remember how great the dinner was. I had the cedar-plank salmon which was ringed with piped horseradish mashed potatoes, the best I’ve ever had before or since. I had a scotch ale for dessert and still remember how good it was sitting by the front window sipping a scotch ale that I have since measured all others by. I brought a growler of the scotch ale home and still have the jug sitting on a shelf in my office next to 50 others from all over the country. I’ve been to a lot of brewpubs over the last 15 years, and Emmitt’s is one I’ll never forget.

This place is the best! We come here semi-regularly, and most often for New Years Eves. New Year’s Eve 2015 was a very special one for us — it was sort of our informal 10-year high school reunion, and we had people coming from very far away for the event. We chose Emmett’s because we’d spent several New Year’s Eves there before, and we thought it a nice place for our larger-than-usual group. All I can say is that the quality of service was great. The food is always great, but what really stuck out to us was the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to make sure our unique event was special. We had 17 adults and 4 children, and were seated in the nicely-decorated and –lit upstairs room at a long table towards the outside wall. It was perfect. There were other tables up there that saw guests here and there through the night, but we were mostly alone, which worked well for everyone, I think, in that it was very reception-like. It was like a private event. We had room to move around the table, and room to gather before dinner for a makeshift«cocktail hour,» and we didn’t have to worry about being too bothersome to other guests or restricted in our own frivolity. The 12+ separate checks were handled with ease as well, and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Everything went smoothly and quickly, and our waitstaff was just great. Everything about the night ended up wonderful, and Emmett’s was a big part of that. Thank you! We shall return!

I’ve been coming here for years and I have never been overwhelmed with their menu. The few items I did like, like the Buffalo Burger and the Grouper have long been discontinued, I do like their 1am micro brew though. We stopped in today and I ordered the Firestarter Burger with grilled jalapeños and the jalapeños were not grilled. I have alway woundered, do the entities that be ever eat here anonymously? I’ll stick to the Monday all you can eat potato skins from now on.

This is a nice place in West Dundee. Nice atmosphere and the service we received at the bar was good. We were only there for a few beers and the ones we had were OK. Nothing wrong with my experiences but just not my taste. I had the Octoberfest and my wife had the IPA. Both were good but I would try something different next time. We didn’t have food but the meals we saw looked and smelled quite good. I would go again given the atmosphere and to try another few of their beers. I would recommend giving this place a try.

I had just come back from a trip to Munich, Germany and was curious to see how authentic their Munich Dunkel beer was. My fiancé and I went on a Tuesday. They have a taco Tuesday special where their tacos are only $ 2. I ordered a fried fish taco and a soft pretzel. The pretzel was delicious but a little pricey for how small it was. The cheese dipping sauce was yummy. The fish taco was so crispy! It was quite a larger serving size and had a good fish to breading ratio. I wouldn’t have been able to eat 2 of them for lunch without being overly stuffed. My fiancé had their veggie burger which he said was good and the patty was substantial for being a veggie patty. We also had a flight of their beers. We asked them to replace the IPA that normally came in the flight with the Munich Dunkel. We really liked the Munich light, oatmeal stout, and Munich Dunkel. The red ale was not bad but we were not fans of their 1am English Ale(we aren’t big on bitter hoppy beers). We’re definitely going to be joining their beer club.

My girlfriend, friends, and I frequent here quite often. I obviously don’t review every time we go, because its a solid place and ’nuff said. The lady and I were just in after they did some renovations, just wanted to say it looks phenomenal. More exposed brick in the pub area, and an added fireplace in the main dining area. As always, the beer and food is amazing! And the wait staff is always friendly and accommodating. Seriously hit this place up if you’re in the area, you will not be disappointed. My recommendations would be their McCarthy Red Ale(or seasonal Belgiums), and any of their burgers or fish tacos, and truffle fries. The lady LOVES their Cheddar Ale soup and the pretzel twist, along with their Victory Pale Ale.

Everything is awesome about this place except the average flavored food. Location = awesome, décor = awesome, patio = extra awesome, bar = awesome. If they could kick the food flavoring up a notch, this would be the spot!

A nice little place off the main street. We sat on the outdoor patio and had a good time. Service was good as well. I had the fish and chips and thought they were just«Ok» and were a little pricey for the amount of food.

So what’s to do on a dreary Monday Memorial Day morning? A) Drink copious amounts of strong French press coffee-yes. B) Read a few pages of The Sympathizer-OK. 3) Drive to Gat Guns and obliterate several terrorist themed targets-Of course, what’s more patriotic than that? D) Follow that unbridled pleasure with a visit to Emmett’s Brewing, based on the«Nearby» setting and the favorable reviews on the Unilocal Mobile App. Perhaps the best Caprese salad I’ve had(at least in recent memory). Additionally the house brewed IPA was a winner, and the décor is very cool-that old timey, dark woody, prohibition eray feel. Nice service as well.

If you are on a tight budget, this probably wouldn’t be the best place to bring your family or a friend, though I will say the food is slightly above average, and the burgers/fries definitely have other surrounding restaurants beat. As far as appetizers, I was extremely disappointed when I ordered the Walleye bites for 12 dollars and received a fancy garnished plate with 5 tiny tenders as big as my thumb, now I understand they may prepare everything by hand, but come on! For 12 dollars I should of been able to down at least 20 of those things with my beer. Other starters I’ve had are the calamari(fresh & excellent, small portion), and the cheddar ale soup with a pretzel twist, which I highly recommended. As for the beer I really have no complaints, they are also a little pricey, but they claim they have to charge those amounts because all of the ingredients are imported(mehh.could still lower a buck or two). Being I’m not a fan of real hoppy brews, the Munich Light is probably my favorite, though I must say I really enjoy the Red Ale, as well as their seasonal Pilsener, I would suggest ordering the beer sampler so you can just decide for yourself. Overall the atmosphere in Emmett’s is very warm and relaxed, from the moment you walk through the doors and see the giant beer tanks in the windows, to the beautiful decorations/pictures, and the solid bar where you can view downtown Dundee while your sipping a pint. I do have one request though, if anyone from Emmett’s is reading this, PLEASEPLEASE change the gosh awful radio station you have playing here 24/7, it’s the most awful, whiny, soft rock annoying crap I have ever heard. If there was something like soft instrumental, classical or jazz, it would fit into the Emmett’s atmosphere much better. As for the staff, my friend and I have been coming here since we were 12, and they have always treated us with kindness and respect.

I love the food here — they have a wonderful menu. We have had many memorable dinners here as well as many special events. They food is always done well, even when it is for a large party of 40+ served buffet style. But as others have stated, where they also shine is their consistently wonderful service. The staff is always cheerful and willing to go the extra mile to make sure that everything is perfect.

I’ve had Emmett’s beer quite a few times before actually visiting this location, and I was pleasantly surprised. First of all, the brewpub is beautiful inside, and much larger than you’d think when you see it from the street. Inside, there’s a substantial bar and a very large dining area. The selection if beer available on tap is larger than I expected, and they have some really good brews. I didn’t like that the flight includes the two beers you can get in a six pack(we’ve had those, so what’s the point?), but they let you sample before getting a full pour, so I guess it works out in the end.

First thing you see when entering Emmett’s are their giant beer brewing drum things. Neat! We sat in the pub/bar portion which was clean, nice, and classier than I’d expect of this sort of place. Our server was nice though nothing extraordinary, she was kind enough to explain to us the differences in some of their own brews, which one of our party ordered(the Hefeweizen, a rather banana-y tasting beer). Gave us some time with our menus, a good variety of tasty sounding meals, varying from salads to sandwiches to cuts of meat, pretty typical spread. Food comes. I got a Chicken and raspberry salad, topped with blue cheese, walnuts(as I recall), craisins, pear slices, chicken(duh), and a raspberry vinaigrette. Salad was in theory good, though it needed some work. Go a little easier on the craisins and that chicken was comparable to the leg of the table we sat at: dry. It was alright though, just needs some work to make it great. Boyfriend got a Cobb salad. As I recall he had no complaints, good, traditional Cobb salad. Boyfriend’s brother: got a club sandwich. You have varying options for your side, he got the sweet potato fries. So. Good! He enjoyed the sandwich as well. Friend: he got some sort of burger with an egg on it, bacon on top, and the white truffle fries. White truffle fries= delicious(this place has it down with the fries apparently). Bacon… we weren’t quite sure what it was. Wasn’t quite on the burger and it looked more like ground up… something. Bathrooms were nice. Clean. I had a moment of surprise when walking up to the door and it had the picture of the guy and girl on it, so I thought«wow, I haven’t been in a co-ed bathroom since France!», but low and behold, it was just the gateway door to two other doors leading into segregated bathrooms. There was the end of a déjà-poo moment(lol, sorry, poo pourri reference). I’m not often in West Dundee, so this isn’t exactly a go-to place for me(though I think there are other locations…), but it seems to be a hit or a miss sort of place, more often a hit is my guess, so go try some local brews!

It’s like I have a brewery radar because whenever one is nearby I automatically want to eat at it. Trying new microbrews just makes me happy. I’ve been to the Emmett’s in Palatine before and tried the red ale so this time I went with one of the seasonal brews – Honey Rye Ale. It was light and refreshing. My second beer was the regular Oatmeal Stout. This one was much darker and heavier but had great flavor. My friend graciously allowed me to try her smoked beer(hallis, I believe) and it was very… interesting. The smoked flavor was quite overpowering. I was having the hardest time deciding what to order for my meal. I took the advice of another reviewer and ordered the cheddar ale soup with the pretzel roll and loved it. It helped warm me back up too! I also ordered the small plate size of the pork belly taco with sweet potato fries. The fries were perfectly battered and nice and salty. The pork belly taco was just okay and the flavor just wasn’t quite right to me. I love the small plate concept and was excited that it was on the menu as I get to try more things. I felt like I had the perfect amount of food. Service was good. Our server did seem to disappear for a bit after serving our food when I wanted to order another beer, but I think she was also serving patrons at the bar. She split our check without a fuss which was greatly appreciated.
