The supervisor didnt know what he was talking about when it came to sales prices on turkeys. He told his coworkers one price then told us another

Most of crew here is nice and some were helpful. They have many sale items weekly and most of the items i usually get here are on sale or have decent regular prices. Good selection, i find some items here that i can’t find at the other big markets. Clean, well stocked fruit & produce section. Parking lot is big and seems messy at times i have been. Wednesdays sales feature both weeks ads offers.

Everyone is so polite and helpful. I love the deli dept. I love to come and get fresh deli meats and salads for my wine tasting Picnic’s and parties for girls night. Wine is always on sale when you buy multiple bottles. The deli counter gives samples of whatever you want to try, always nice customer service throughout the store. When I have more then the 15 items if the line is open they come grab your cart and get you through. Saves me time, love that they pay attention. If you get here before after work crowd shopping is a breeze and no waiting at the deli counter. Plenty of parking here, aisles are big, this store is well maintained and clean. Baggers tell you bread and eggs are in this bag, no squeashed bread and broken eggs. Sweet!

This was my first visit to a Stater Brothers store and I was extremely impressed. It was just before Christmas and the store was very crowded. I was there to pick up on the prime rib roast special and while standing at the meat section, I was asked if I needed help and was also invited to look at the meat in the butcher’s area for more selection. Ricardo was so great! I selected, got wrapped up and was on my way in no time. What awesome customer service!!! That happens so rarely these days I just had to write this post! The store overall is well organized and kept clean, even during the Christmas chaos. The checkers were all in good spirits and kept the lines moving very well. I wish this store was in L.A. as I don’t make it out to Covina very often.

Prices are good, food quality is excellent, customer service at this location is horrible. I shop here at least 2x a month and staff and not friendly. Example, most of the time when I am at the register to pay, clerk will talk to other clerks or to bagger instead of assisting customer only. I am lucky to get a hello, if that. The meat dept. is also the same way, your lucky if you get a friendly person, I do remember one man in the meat dept. that was bald and he was really nice, other than him, forget it. Go there for the good quality of food for a good price, but never for their service!

This was my first and last time at this store. All wanted was few items and figured i would try this store. I’m new to the area but i have been to several grocery stores in the area never felt so humiliated. I purchase some alcohol and the young cashier had to call his manager to verify my id. The manager arrived to the cash register took my id from the cashier proceed to walk to another register with it. To my confusion i had no clue what was going as he never greeted me or acknowledge me until he came back to register look at me then my id, then type something in the register, then looked at me again and then proceed to yell«mama how old are you?». I looked at him like really. You got my id. You cant do the math??? I ask why? He said had to verify verbally. I answered. He asked again. Really? !?#? He was extremely loud and abrasive. Then he just walked off… even the cashier felt uneasy and apologize after the manager left. I dont have problem with the procedure just how he spoke to me. Staters bros will not get anymore money from me. I gave an extra star for the cashier as he had better customer service than his manager

From now on I will be sticking to Fresh & Easy which is closer to my home so I won’t have to deal with bad customer service. This letter was written to corporate after a HORRIBLE experience with Donna at the deli. I would have given one star, but the manager on duty, Stephanie did a good job in trying to help: On 12/07/2014 at 6:50pm, I visited Store #106 in West Covina, CA to pick up a few groceries. After buying my items, I decided to get a sandwich at the deli for the drive home. When approaching the cash register like I had done in the past to order, I waited for one of the deli workers to help me. There were two ladies at the slicer, one cutting the other chatting. After a few seconds the ladies noticed me and the one chatting, who I later found whose name was Donna yelled from where she was standing and asked what I needed. I told her that I wanted to order the Cuban Sandwich Wrap which was featured on the sign at the deli. She said she couldn’t hear me since she didn’t approach me in the beginning to help and then by that time started walking towards me. By this time I was very put off by her lack of customer service by not approaching the counter in the first place and asking how she could help. My smile faded and I asked her if I could order a sandwich. She asked what kind and when I told her, she looked in a basket with bread and said she didn’t think they had the wraps. She then looked in one other place and turned to me and said, «We don’t have wraps.» We looked at each other for a few seconds and I finally just walked out. While heading to the car, I thought, this is a big store with a large selection of bread in the bread aisle, so I went back to the store, went to bread aisle and saw a lot of different wraps and tortillas that I thought she could have used. I then went back to the register at the deli, but by this time Donna was helping another customer. I was going to wait until she was finished, but she then turned to me and asked what did I need. Her way of asking really turned me off because both times instead of asking how she could help me she asked ‘what did(I) need, like I was disturbing her. I asked her for her name and asked for her manager. She told me her name, but then stated that she tried to ask me if I wanted flatbread instead of the wrap. I told her that at no time while I was standing there did she ask me anything. I told her that her customer service was horrible and that she was very rude. She then started arguing with me telling me that I was rude for walking out. A few other words went back and forth while I told her she was very lacking in her customer service and then walked towards the checkout lanes because I had enough. I told the lady that checked me out earlier that I needed to speak with a manager. Stephanie G, told me that she was a manager and told me to give her a minute while she finished up with a customer and called for someone to relieve her. After Stephanie made a page over the intercom, Donna rang Stephanie’s extension and I believe, started telling her side of the story. When I looked toward the deli I could see Donna on the phone looking and pointing at me. I then said, «This is absolutely unacceptable!» and demanded to speak with the actual store manager because I didn’t want to go back and forth with an employee and play telephone through someone else. Stephanie quickly hung up the phone and by that time another worker came to cover her. She asked me what happened and was very apologetic about everything. I told her this situation was absolutely ridiculous and with all the bread in the entire store I couldn’t believe that Donna was not accommodating in anyway. I told Stephanie that she had just seen me and checked me out and I was not upset nor did I have an attitude when she saw me and that I am not usually upset like this when all I wanted was a sandwich. Stephanie gave me the store manager and corporate’s information and offered to personally make the sandwich for me, but by that time I had lost my appetite. Stephanie was very professional and I was very impressed by her demeanor, but Donna have very much to be desired. Her attitude and service was absolutely atrocious, disgusting and literally made me lose my appetite.

These 5 stars are for one particular worker… Ricardo, one of the butchers. The staff at this location can be a little frigid and unfriendly as another Unilocaler mentioned BUT this was not the case today with Ricardo. I can only imagine how chaotic grocery stores get this time of year and I did feel like one other butcher avoided my eye contact just before Ricardo walked over to help me and my mother. We were looking for a fresh turkey over 18 lbs and the biggest one out was 16.88 lbs. we told Ricardo what we wanted and instead of telling us the turkey we found was close enough and this is all that was out right now, he went to the back and took his time to find me one a little over. He was friendly and so ready to help. He also went back a second time to check if they got the turkey gizzards in and when he found they hadn’t he told us to call and check back later. He provided great customer serive definitely worthy of 5 stars!

Always packed which is good for business. But the employees are sure frigid and unfriendly. They have jobs so why the grouchy faces? True we all go through our tough times. I am a local resident. Each time i approach the checkout the cashier doesnt even acknowledge me. He or she just begins to ring my groceries. So about 3 times now i end up with the asian guy cashier. i really try to avoid him. Its him or the female cashier that will yawn and then talk to her fellow cashiers while im just standing there waiting for her to ring me up. Poor cashiers. I cannot wait for the new stater brothers on grand in covina to open. At least they will be fresh new employees that will at least fake their customer service skills.

Was there on 9⁄4 about 30 mins before closing… When I pass the meat dept I hear loud voices, it’s the associates in the meat dept… In total there were 4 customers near the meat dept(in diff aisles) & you can hear the associates saying«I hate my job», then when I’m down another aisle I can hear one yelling«stupid idiot»… I don’t think I’d want them handling food I’m about to feed to my family, as it sounds like they hate their job & don’t take it serious, what they sounded like was immature high school kids. When I heard all this I had to walk back there to see for myself that it was actually the workers talking this way and not a customer.

DISGUSTING!!! SICKVOMITINGCASHIERSERIOUSLY??? I was at a location near my house purchasing groceries as the cashier bends down at her register and begins to throw up. I ask the bagger is she pregnant? She responds no. I said so you mean to tell me she’s sick and vomiting at a register handling people’s food and she isn’t at home why??? And she just smiles and doesn’t respond. I asked to speak with a manager 2x and never received management to speak with instead they sent an assistant manager by the name of Ivan Marquez to complete the transaction. This woman had already handled ½ of my food prior to stopping to vomit. As the manager comes over to finish the transaction additional staff wearing gloves comes over with disinfectant to clean the area. Why is this women at work sick and vomiting??? She’s handling people’s food!!! They asked her to take a break and still didn’t send her home. This is disgusting and yet I still haven’t spoken with management.

Love the butcher and deli here, way better than the market up the street, IMO. Parking is usually easy, you may have to dodge a few solicitors on the way in/out but that seems to be at about every establishment these days. Love the produce section as well, always fresh, never disappoints. Clerks are always friendly and helpful. Not too many«gourmet» items, but Stater Bros is more mom and pop so less hipsters to deal with.

Horrible experience, most of the workers there were extremely rude and when I asked for help they just sent me on a circle of useless help. The only positive was the fresh deli portion of the store, they allowed me to try different samples of their sandwich meat and offered tips.
