I hosted a party here and had such a great experience. Aline was very helpful and accommodating to my requests. I was able to order platters ahead of time and everything tasted great. Not salty like some other filipino places. The garlic fried rice and bbq was wholesome. I also liked the pancit. I highly recommend giving Bamboo Bistro a try, and eat kamayan style.

I have eaten the buffet. It’s dirt cheap and plenty of cheap foods. The foods looked and tasted like Chinese with popular items like fried fish and pork. Haha… it’s all good for a simple buffet.

I wasn’t too satisfied at what was offered though being a filipino home cooked is always the best, came in with a lot of expectations and it didn’t quite meet the standard for me, back then it was great but now the garlic fried rice was flavorless and bleh, chicken skin was good, and the bangus was very dinky and over fried, but yeah would definitely not come back.

I went the other day, great food, awesome service, great price. I came for breakfast and it is a sit down buffet. They have a lot of different types of authentic food for it being breakfast only. The servers were really nice and friendly. Food was nothing short of amazing. Overall a 10⁄10 experience :)

We love eating their buffet breakfast and lunch here! It’s really affordable and tastes great! It’s not as good as mom’s cooking but it’s definitely the closest and best substitute from our families region of food my wife and I can find! Salamat!

had breakfast buffet after work with a few of my coworkers. — breakfast buffet: they have all the filipino breakfast favorites: garlic rice, sausages, pork, spam, fried eggs, fried fish, etc. including the appropriate condiments. all the food was great, especially the pork and sausages. pros: — breakfast buffet is best bang for your buck. you can definitely eat $ 9 worth of food, maybe more if you’re a champ. — good filipino food — live entertainment on the weekends i think — pretty decent amount of seating — open early, at 7am. great for someone getting off night shift and finding everything opens at 10. cons: — carb and meat overload, but hey, isnt that what filipino food is all about? this isn’t ideal for your vegetarian friends(and, you should probably reexamine your life choices having vegetarian/vegan friends) just fyi: — décor is mom and pop, hole in the wall style, absolutely no frills. — parking can fill up quick — TVs were playing filipino soap operas. hehe would i come again? sure

I needed a place to work for a few hours because my internet was down at home. I tried Starbucks before but it’s usually crowded, cold and the Internet is SLOW. Here I had my own table with my own power outlet and the internet speeds were 30+ mbs. The food here was good too. There’s a porridge called lugaw that is great — chunks of slowly cooked chicken with really strong notes of chicken broth and ginger. For lunch there was a dish called picadillo — ground pork, potatoes and vegetables in a tomato sauce. Awesome! Closed on Tuesdays and very busy on Fridays I hear

For asian fusion(thai, vietnamese). This place is capital A, wesome. I go here twice a month, maybe more for a Fri/Sat night dinner — be prepared for the hellish wait. It’t that popular and that good.

AYCE filipino breakfast? You’ll definitely find me there!!! Came here with the boyfriend one morning when we were in the area and I was super excited! I’m a breakfast food lover, and I love filipino food, so this was right up my alley. They have breakfast food items like garlic rice, eggs, bangus(fried milkfish), arroz caldo, pork tocino/longanisa, adobo, etc. Basically you’re filipino breakfast food staples. Pair that up with banana ketchup and you have a feast! It includes unlimited hot coffee to keep your energy up. The food is fast, cheap, and delicious. How can you go wrong with that? Come hungry and on your cheat day.

Went to Buffet, lots of items, but not labeled. I tried everything, some items familiar like Chicken Adobo(very mild), Beef Stew(very good), crispy Pork, Fried Chicken Skin and small Fish, Fried Banana and Soup. Most items are mildly seasoned as they have condiments at the front to use. Fairly good.

Went for their kamayan dinner on a weeknight, food and service were great! Then went back on a Friday karaōke night, had the best lechon kawali with matching Sinigang… but the most fun of it all was their karaōke .! We had such a fabulous time, definitely not to be missed! !!

Breakfast buffet is very good. But can’t just go there as often as I want to, unless, they’ll have different menu on every weekend, specially. Kamayan is unique! It takes a while to get any grill orders though. But no problem just call it in advance, before you get there. This place can do some more improvement. That wouldn’t hurt at all. Foods are pretty tasty needless to say.

Holy guacamole! I’ve seen this place each time I am in the area for Johnny Air but I never go in because of the Unilocal ratings and *ehem* fly-in-the soup pictures but for once I decided to go in after standing in the parking lot and staring at Jollibee for 10 minutes. AYCE breakfast and lunch buffet for $ 9? That includes hot unlimited coffee. Sounds like a good deal except I don’t eat much anymore. I wish I could shrink and expand my stomach at will. I was greeted by a young lady by the cash register. She was really friendly and nice. It was like a breath of fresh air after the frigid service I got from Ongpin-Beverly the night prior. I got more and more excited as I went down looking at all the buffet selections. Chicken Adobo rice(5 stars) — it is white rice cooked in Adobo broth and served with chicken strips. Flavor is perfect; not too salty which makes it a great match for the other entrees. Pork Binagoongan(5 stars) — Pork stewed and sautéed in shrimp paste. You’d think it’s going to come out really salty, as most Filipino dishes are seasoned back home, but this one — perfect. Ginataang Manok(5 stars) — this is chicken(manok) cooked in coconut milk(gata) which is the Filipino variation of Chicken curry. What can I say? I like it. Chicken and Longganisa Tocino(5 stars) — Filipino twist to American bacon. It’s cured chicken and sausage. I got there after lunch time so they no longer had fried egg and that was the only thing missing to a complete traditional Filipino breakfast right there. I’ve never been this excited about a Filipino buffet/fastfood place in a long time since I found Pinoy-Pinay. I’m glad I went in and gave this place a try. Too bad I live so far but this could be another reason to visit Covina for some comfort food every now and then. Sidenote: Most Filipinos who grew up in the Philippines are very friendly so if they start talking to you from across the room ladies(if you’re dining alone), I don’t think they’re hitting on you. Just another thing we Flips do back in the homeland.

Food is okay… Breakfast buffet is affordable but sanitation is still questionable… You decide for yourself…

Ever been to one of those crappy Chinese buffets? The ones where they serve you crappy Chinese food in those huge silver trays but you still feel compelled to eat it? Imagine that but with Filipino cuisine and you have some idea of what Bamboo Bistro is all about. Garlic Rice. Tocino, Chicken, and a bunch of other stuff I’m too lazy to write but tasty nonetheless. Definitely worth checking out. No Halo Halo here unfortunately. CASHONLY. $ 7.99ALLYOUCANEATBREAKFAST Props to the JYANG crew

Been living in the 626 East for almost a year now, and one thing there’s no shortage of is Filipino food. Bamboo Bistro is only spot that offers a breakfast buffet! Had this place bookmarked for the longest time. Finally got the chance to go here with the JY fam. There was egg, spam, garlic rice, noodles, braised pork, and a lot of fried stuff. Chicken, chicken skin, 2 types of fish. All fried. It seem like a lot of options for $ 7. And for breakfast, I don’t mind a heavy breakfast to get ready for the day. I’ve definitely had better Filipino food. But for the price. This A OK! Bang for the buck type place.

Filipino breakfast buffet! A single station full of Filipino staples, it was good but not great. I think I’d rather go to a Filipino restaurant(I like LA Rose café in LA) than a buffet. Great price though! — Garlic Rice — Spam — Eggs — Fried Milk Fish — Arroz Caldo — Tocino — Longaniza — Fried chicken skin — Adobo — Pork belly — really really soft, but a bit greasy Also enjoyed that I washed all this rich food down with some black coffee. JY said that most items were either too salty/greasy. The other JY said that the spam was dry(it was true) Shouts to both eating partners JYANGS, #JYANGSLOVEBREAKFAST

The food was really good for the most part. I had picked up my daughter at Cal Poly when I thought we should try something new. I knew that there are a lot of great Filipino restaurants in the area so I picked this place. I thought the buffet would be safe. First of all, I picked the wrong person to go with. My son would have tried everything but my daughter, not so much. She had a look on her face like, «what are we doing here». She had mentioned she was not very hungry so i let it go as that but when we get home, she pulls out a yogurt so I know she could have eaten more. Whatever. As I mentioned before the food was really good and the only reason I only gave 3 stars instead of 4 was the fact that they dont make it easy to ask what your eating. I was clearly a fish out of water but I am very outgoing and dont mind asking questions. Gave plenty of opportunities to kind of explain the menu but all questions of food on the buffet were answered with yes or no answers. UUggghh. I would have had to pull out a sign and say HELP to get any more info. I’ve got to go with one of my Filipino friends. Look forward to going back.

— Bring your appetite because Filipino’s can dish it!(large portion) — A la carte for under $ 7??? Incredible — Sweet chicken(do not recall the name), rice, eggs, salty fish(insert name) — The food was ok, nothing special, but it is a great if your hungrier than an ox — The mens restroom was missing the toilet seat, the one you actually sit on not the lid—«struggling» as we say in these parts — This place is way more poppin’ at night when the karaōke stage is set to go

Yaaaaayyyyy for all-you-can-eat Filipino food right before doomsday! Why not do some damage and enjoy your last Man vs. Food moment like my husband did =P My spouse is not even a big guy or anything, but he sure can eat his way like there is no tomorrow. He gives new meaning to getting his money’s worth =P This is a small AYCE buffet for $ 8.99. I can tell you that it’s not easy to find a good Filipino buffet, especially after being all over National City(San Diego) w/my spouse over several trips, which is known for good pinoy food in the area. Been here twice since my Filipino spouse craves certain dishes that I do not know how to make yet. The food here is decent(taste-wise), and the variety is what makes it more interesting. My spouse and I tried the following: ~sinigang with pork —(sour soup w/tamarind) ~Pancit —(noodles) ~chicken & pork adobo — I salivate over this greasy dish(like Pavlov’s dog) ~calderetta(beef stew) ~fried fish ~kare kare —(oxtail stew w/a peanut taste) ~fried calamari — one of my husband’s favorites ~longanisa —(sweet sausage) — greasy is an understatement for this one ~beef steak/bistek(well sauteed slices of beef w/onions) ~dinuguan(pork blood stew) — I never thought I would ever care for a dish made out of pig’s blood, but here I am! We did not get a taste of the garlic fried rice on our last visit =((It was gone by the time we got there, and they would not bother making more. We had to settle for plain white rice. They have karaōke nights here. I will skip this one because I’ve had to put up with that sort of thing when visiting my husband’s friends =P Thank goodness no one sang karaōke at my wedding! 3.5 stars overall due to them not having garlic fried rice — this should be a MUST at any Filipino buffet. I would have given it 4 stars otherwise. They have another location in Panorama City. So go get your grub on for cheap, if you survive Dec. 21 chaos =D
