It was decided that I shouldn’t go crazy and drive up to Charlotte, NC& Lexington, NC after a major winter storm of February 2014 with friends, just to visit more friends the week before the scheduled travel. With that said and some sage advice, I cancelled my hotel room in Charlotte, NC and rebooked for this Quality Inn in West Columbia SC. Knowing that I would be driving on slick icy conditions, having the hotel as close to the airport as possible, while it being cost effective and name brand was key. And so, I booked this hotel for $ 59/night for one and it for the bill. I had previously stayed at Quality Inns before, so this visit was good and typical for me. This particular Quality Inn branded property is located in West Columbia, SC, right off the I-26 heading west towards Spartanburg. Easy to get to when you have GPS. There is plenty of parking here for guests, so that’s not a problem. All we wanted was a comfortable bed to rest our weary heads from a full day of travel. The check in process was smooth as it can be. Handed the driver’s license and a major credit card, which was standard procedure. We were given room #131, which was good. The room itself was clean and featured 2 double beds. With 3 people in the room, one bed had to be shared or one occupied the floor. Regardless of how that went, the night went pretty smoothly and uneventful. The basic in room amenities were there. Coffee maker and a television. The bathroom was clean and the tub was spotless, or at least, it looked relatively clean. The rest of the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Well, at least mine was. Must’ve gotten 7.5 good hours of sleep that night before going adventuring road tripping with friends in Myrtle Beach the next day. The television worked properly, as well as the coffee maker, but I didn’t use it — my friends did. The check out process was smooth as well. It was a nice morning, as the sun was out and everything was melting after the winter storm PAX had swept through the region days earlier. While Quality Inn does not measure up for some who like the luxury in their hotel room experience, that wasn’t me not my friends. It was a nice stay here in West Columbia and recommend those who are in need of comfort, but not willing to spend a lot, I recommend Quality Inn for their accommodations. Support local! B–

My parents were staying here for 3 nights and the service is awful. They are rude when I call on the phone and apparently only one person works at a time. We often heard things like«Oh I have to wait until the maintenance person gets here because I’m the only one working» when they needed things like pillows or a replacement phone when the one in their room stopped working. The room itself was humid and the air conditioner barely worked. I would never stay here and do not recommend it to anyone.

Stopped here on the way to Savannah. It was very inexpensive, and the location is very close to 26. It worked for the night, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to repeat. Non smoking room which had an aroma of smoke and hardcore urinal mint/industrial Febreeze. Very nice desk staff at check in, micro fridge in room, remodeled bathroom(could have used a touch more light). Bed was fine and free Wi-Fi is always a plus! Still don’t understand why many«nicer» hotels don’t include this free of charge. I have stayed in many«Quality Inn» locations and don’t really feel that this place stacked up to the others. Seemed more like a econo lodge or super 8(which I understand it used to be). Happy Travels everyone!
