I was quite anxious to try this place. The décor is quite impressive, I must say. After I sat down at my table, I checked in at this place here on Unilocal and SURPRISE I got a free pretzel appetizer! It was wonderful! It consisted of 3 pretzel twists, piping hot, and three dipping sauces. One one cheese sauce, a spicy horseradish mustard, and a honey mustard dipping sauce. All three were delish! I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was the crunchiest fish I’ve ever had… I mean it was really crunchy. It was good, though. The fries were good, pretty standard french fries. My party and I also ordered the fried butternutter. It was just ok. It didn’t quite live up to our expectations, but it was different. Our waiter is why I’m giving this review four stars. He was wonderful. Very quick, polite, and friendly. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in West Chester!

If I could rename this place on a busy night I call it the sardine. It gets packed, you can interpret that 2 ways if you like a crowd or you get uncomfortable in close quarters. They have an out door section for smokers but it does offer a «breath of fresh air» compared to the packed bar. And fear not you can still order drinks out there. Normal price for a run and coke is $ 4 unless it’s half off or you’re part of a happy hour. Happy hours when available will run you about $ 12 and its all you can drink select mixed drinks. And it runs from 9−11pm. The appetizers are exceptable for bar food. I normally get the veggies and hummus platter it a real generous portion the hummus is OK it might need more seasoning but in a whole its fine. Final thoughts: This is your place to go if you don’t mind crouds, smoke and want tho drink at the same time, and you like OK tasting bar food. Rating 3.5÷5.

Great staff, Jennifer is top class. Best burger I’ve had in the states. It was the Pork Belly Burger. Two meals in one. A gem in the Philly area. Forget a cheese steak, have a burger with a topping of pig. Worth a visit.

I eat at Kildare’s with some frequency, and have been for about ten years now. I gave them a very positive, 4-star review before, but feel a need to change it at this time to three stars. They are now under new ownership, and the first thing the new owners did was take all of the boxties — my favorite dish! — off the menu. Not only did this limit the more«Irish» selections at this«Irish pub,» it also limited the number of vegetarian options. My other concern is the potatoes — they just weren’t that good the last time I ate there, whereas they used to be the best I’ve ever had. I don’t know if the ingredients the new owners buy aren’t as good, or if the recipes have changed, or what is going on. Maybe it’s just the transition? Either way, I can’t in good conscience give it the good review I gave it in the past. Hopefully this will change.

I love this place after dark! This is my favorite bar and one of the most social ones as well. If you want to go someplace with a lot of college students to mingle with other college students, this is the place to go to. They highly enforce students who try to sneak in so it’s literally impossible to get in if you are underage.(That’s good and bad depending on who you are lol). I would recommend this place to anyone and will be going back again! I will say that I have never had their food, so I can’t speak for that part of the place. I will say the only thing that’s a pain is sometimes they charge you money just to get into the bar. If it were free like every other place in West Chester, I would give them 5 stars.

I can understand many people’s disliking of a pub that’s packed with sloppy college kids on the reg. That being said, I’ve had nothing but great experiences at Kildare’s. Each bartender I’ve met is awesome; they are friendly and talented mixologists. Libby is the best! She’ll whip up some pretty delicious drinks if you aren’t sure what to order. I must admit I’ve never eaten here, so my review is based off of the experiences I’ve had at the bar and on the dance floor. The bouncers are attentive and the music is entertaining. The atmosphere is really fun. If you’re not into the whole college scene, you probably shouldn’t live or visit so close to a college campus! College bars get rowdy; this is inevitable. At the very least, Kildare’s has great management staff members who are concerned with customer service. That’s got to count for something! A solid four stars from a happy customer!

This place is hell on earth. so sick of not breathing or hearing or walking on weekends. Love Sean though, great guy, great bartender, only reason I come. Need more space/less people/more oxygen/less ear splitting music. Get it together kildares you are killing me literally

I came to Kildare’s on the invite of a friend and had a good time. It’s extremely crowded, especially around the dancing area. Warning for all women who want to go to the bathroom, go somewhere else. They only have two stalls and the line alone will kill you. The bartenders were fast and really sweet especially for having so many customers. However, the glasses are all glass and people continued to drop them and no one seemed to be around to clean it up. Fun place, but I probably won’t be a regular.

Called in to see if the Monday night wing special was on, AYCE for $ 8.99. The manager kindly said yes and was very friendly. The wings were great. All the flavors we tried were outstanding. Best of all, our total price came out to 45 cents a wing! We ate twenty each. The service was quick and courteous with wing refills. We really appreciated that! Every time I’ve been to Kildare’s the staff have been friendly and my food has been pretty good. I’d probably do 3 stars because the food is pretty standard pub-grub, but because the wing deal was so spectacular, I’m giving it 4!

This is an Irish dive bar with 2 bars and dining room seating spread throughout the restaurant. Very clean. There is a very cozy section next to a fireplace. Nice beer selection & prices are reasonable. I went in to kill some time from 3pm to 6pm on a Tuesday. There were only a few ppl sitting at the bar. The staff was extremely friendly and did not stand around… they continuously kept working. Even though I was basically loitering, my waitress and the bartender kept taking care of me and were very personable. I ordered the Dubliner burger with fries. The burger was chargrilled and the fries were crispy. Very good. Awesome spot to grab a Guinness and a burger.

Good enough, but nothing special. The beer selection is very good. The drafts are diverse and they have some extra in the fridge. There is an interesting beer tour of 60 Beers in 90 Days. You’ll find the bartenders and waiters are friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is OK. It can be a little dark sometimes. It is not quite the Irish experience. They advertise themselves with a laid back Irish attitude, but the management can be very rude and rigid. They try to bash you over the head with the culture that it comes across as forced. In the end it is more like Irish-lite. For a college student it is somewhat enjoyable. They do charge a cover on weekends when most places in town do not. It’s not much but not really worth paying especially since it has an incredibly small dance floor and limited bathrooms. Overall a fairly good bar with good servers, but has a tacky appearance with a monotonous management. In the end its nothing special.

For WCU college students this is the place to be on Thursday, Friday, Saturday nights. I came here many times raising hell as a ‘young buck’ before I was a resident in West Chester. I would meet my friends and slug down many, many rum & cokes. I was booted from the place once before, and was refused to be served 2 – 3 times. Since then I have grown, matured and learned to handle my alcohol. I have also switched from rum & cokes to beers which helps the cause. As a young buck this place is great to meet people and enjoy a loud & crazy atmosphere(at night time). I would recommend it mostly to the college age group but would still suggest to stop in as a late 20’s boomer if you are looking for some excitement.

I stopped by for a little less than an hour on a Thursday night, only to meet up with a friend who was back in the area to visit. It was my first time in this area, although I do live very close. I was excited to see that there are plenty of parking spaces available — both street and garage, which is fairly cheap in comparison to typical Philadelphia prices. The actual place itself reminded me of Lucy’s Hat Shop in Philly — it seemed geared towards college students who are looking to get wasted and dance. There was no line in, and I was asked for my ID to step in. Once I did step in, it was dark, dank, and loud. Even on a Thursday night, this place had ridiculously loud music(pop, mainstream) that didn’t really match with the«Irish» theme of the bar(which I could barely see). It was ridiculously loud — I could barely hear anything my friend said to me inside, even though she was screaming into my ear. No one was even dancing, so it just seemed like a mix between unnecessary loud music and a middle school dance where everyone is too shy to dance with each other. While I was sitting at the bar, some of the workers there asked us to get up so they could clear the seats(they were clearing all the tables and such). I left a little after that, since I was in search of a relaxing, lounge-y bar. I’m assuming that the dance party got started after I left. Seems like a nice place to imbibe and let loose for college students. At least on Thursday nights.

I have only been here once for a few minutes but I did take notice of some things that ALWAYS bother me about bars. For one, it is rather small. It may have been because of the huge amount of people but either way, it was a tight squeeze. Also, their sound system is loud as hell!!! There was a band playing on the night that my husband and I went. Granted, they were good but the loudness was so overbearing that I could not have any type of conversation with anyone around me. Other than that, it wasn’t all that bad. People seemed to be having a good time but as I said, my husband and I didn’t stay long enough to experience what this bar had to offer.
