There were five people dining and all five had a great meal. Prime Rib, Lasagna, Swordfish, Beef Medallions and Pizza. The two appetizers we had were also very good. Garlic Bread with Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top and Fried Cheese wedges that had a mild smoky flavor. Our salads were all a little skimpy, both the tossed and Caesars. We were offered complimentary Cannoli for dessert. We went for an early dinner on a Friday evening and it was not crowded. Our server was very friendly and another offered to bring us drinks when she walked by our table and saw some glasses weren’t full. The restaurant seems better taken of than when I was last here. At that time it was The White House. My family would definitely like to come back.

Nice to find a non-chain restaurant close to Ikea. Friendly staff and owner. Great atmosphere and would be a great place to come enjoy a glass of wine in the evening.

We really like this little gem in west Chester. The restaurant is really cute, not in a strip mall, and the food is really nice. Also the complimentary desert makes it a deal not to overlook. The staff are also really friendly.

We’ve passed by the White House for years and noticed that they had now become Casa Bianca. In conversation with a co-worker they recommended the place so after all these years we finally gave them a try. Place is older, not really dated, actually quite charming. Service overall was pretty good. The let down though was the food. We ordered a couple of appetizers; mussels and garlic bread with cheese. Bread was good, but mussels had a very strong flavor to them — I’m no expert when it comes to mussels but the few times I’ve had them before they never had the strong flavor that these did. My coworker informed me they have prime rib on the weekends, so that is what I chose for an entrée. My wife gave up beef a few years ago so I ordered her the eggplant cannelloni. Entrees come with a salad — my wife had side salad with raspberry dressing, I had the Caesar. Both were so so — similar to what you’d get at Red Lobster or Bob Evans. My prime rib was good, medium to mid rare. My wife’s eggplant cannelloni though was awful. Two cannelloni filled with a dry stuffing that I can only guess had eggplant in it. A dab of red sauce on top and a bit of cheese. That’s it and $ 15.95 at that. At least serve it with a side of pasta with marinara or something. Wife reluctantly ate one and brought the other home. All and all $ 51 w/tip. They were fairly busy for a Saturday night so they must be doing something right. Reminded of places I ate at with with parents as a kid, when I had less discerning tastes and was more easily impressed. If the eggplant cannelloni wasn’t so awful I’d be at 3 stars, but with as such it was really just meh. Win some you lose some when trying a new place. We’ll hit Olive Garden next time — less charm but better food and value.

Our recent visit to Casa Bianca was pleasant for many reasons, the most notable of which was the FREECAKE. That’s right, they are currently offering a «complimentary dessert» each night, and on the Thursday night that we attended, it just so happened to be a divine slice of chocolate cake(one for each person at the table!). This was a delightful surprise that neither my fiancé nor myself have experienced at any other restaurant ever. We gluttonously agreed that it’s an excellent marketing strategy. The rest of the meal was also quite delicious — our appetizer of garlic bread was cheesy and perfect for dipping in some marinara. The complimentary bread basket(we didn’t plan this out very well) was soft, warm, and served with a tasty herb butter. The caesar salad had some unique flavors in it, and incorporated herbs from their backyard garden. We ordered a pizza and the eggplant parm for entrees. Both were GIANT portions, but did not sacrifice quality for the epic quantity. The wine selection was nice — the house Cab was a bit acidic(but worth it for $ 5), and the Shiraz was good after it had a little air. Also, the service was very attentive and friendly. Our water glasses seemed to be perpetually refilled, despite the fact that it was a decently busy Thursday night. There also appeared to be several private parties going on, which did not impact our experience in the main dining room. Speaking of which, I adored the ambiance of this place. I’m a total sucker for a cozy, vintage spot, and this place was basically like dining at a really wealthy grandparents’ house(the«casa» is an actual house, which is all sorts of adorable). There seems to be some online discounts currently running for this restaurant, so take advantage of the deal and treat yo self to a nice meal and free dessert!

Fantastic service(Stephanie) — very helpful, while also giving us a private, romantic dinner. My wife had the sole — good breading with a risotto with vegetables, and a creamy spinach topping. I had a chicken cacciatore with a creamy risotto. Both were perfect. The price is very low, so when they include a salad for free, one doesn’t expect much. It was good — nothing special, but appreciated. Deserts were also included, I had a delightful rum cake, while Susan had carrot cake — perfect ending to a special evening. Of course the historic building is unique — they’ve restored it well

Went for our anniversary. Not memorable at all. Showed up expecting to see a quaint antique dining area and was immediately escorted to the«other» side of the restaurant that is the bar area(I guess wearing a Harley shirt automatically makes you go to the bar). Doesn’t bother me, but the wife was disappointed(beside if I wanted the sports bar, I’d have gone to a sports bar). and she is too timid to say anything until after our order was taken. Got our drinks order in a few minutes, then 10 minutes later finally got our order for food taken. Ordered the steak(medium) and she got the ravioli. Small salad came out shortly and was alright. 20 minutes after that, we got our entrée. The steak was dry, medium well and blah. Her ravioli was ok at best. My baked potato was just ok. Her green beans were tasteless. Our waitress was not very friendly and while the refills came, it took a long time for the food order to be taken. It took about 35 minutes from being seated to actually get our entrée. It was a Wednesday night, so it wasn’t busy at all. Got done with the entrée, the plates were taken and 5 minutes later another waitress brought our tab. After another minute our waitress brought our dessert. We paid the bill and didn’t get a word from her. A thank you, have a nice night, etc. would have been nice. It’s not like we were nasty toward her. With mediocre food, service, and ambiance, along with the high cost, I will not be back.

I called for reservations for 5 at 6:30 on a Saturday and was told we could not be accommodated til 7:30. We decided to just show up and take our chances. Upon arrival there was a man and woman at the front desk. The woman acted like it would be hard to seat us. Not so the man — he made it happen right away. Thank you! Fabulous meal for all! The jalapeño gnocchi were good as was the cheesy garlic bread. But the Caprese salad — yum! Ripe fresh tomatoes in early May. Salads were good as was the herb bread served with them. 3 of our party had the prime rib special and were satisfied with it. I had the bleu coullette which is a sirloin topped with bleu cheese crumbles and onion slivers. Very good. I ordered med rare but it came out med well. It was still pretty good. And the gentleman from the front door stopped to check on us and was very friendly. Our server, Sam, was excellent. We will go back!

Since I had never been there before I asked the waitress for a recommendation. She said, «Uhh, well, I’m really burnt out on this place so…» trying to help her think of something i asked what was popular. She still couldn’t even think of a suggestion. So, I ordered a pasta dish which was really bland. It came with a salad that was quite pathetic and monotoned. Not very appetizing. They also brought fresh bread out that was smashed like they were trying to cut it with a dull knife. The herb butter was tasty though. The cheesecake was good but small for the price. The carrot cake was alright and incredibly small compared to what you’d get at other restaurants for the same price. Like other reviewers have said, it’s not very Italian. We’ll never go back.

We came here on an early Saturday evening and the place was nearly empty. That was our first sign that this was NOT going to be a good place to eat and we were right. However, the interior of the restaurant was very nice — old and rustic looking. The menu has mostly American food, not Italian. There is only 1 page of Italian food. The server came out with a phone in her hand, which she glanced at several times while we were trying to order. Needless to say, we did NOT feel special. My salad was pathetic. It was a tiny plate, a little bit of lettuce, 1 slice of cucumber and 1 slice of tomato. The dressing which was a vinaigrette was the best thing we had all night. My husband had lasagna. It was a large portion, but mostly canned tasting tomato sauce with very little cheese. No Parmesan was provided to sprinkle on the pasta dishes. I had a spaghetti Pesto with roasted red peppers. The sauce was really watery and bland. I couldn’t taste any basil and the roasted red peppers tasted like they came out of a jar. There were two small pieces of bread on the side of each dish. Our bottle of beer was over $ 6. The cost of this with a drink each was over $ 50. I was glad I had a coupon from Reach magazine to take the cost down a bit. This clearly wasn’t worth the money. We didn’t like the food and won’t be coming back.

Had a great time here on a weeknight with a good friend. Had a quiet, cheap drink, and when nothing on the menu caught my eye, I asked Courtney(who is easy on the eyes) to just bring me some meatballs — she did! Awesome service, cool fireplace, trivia night occasionally. Check it out.

It’s a good news bad news thing at Casa. I think they were overwhelmed at thanksgiving. They were out Of rare prime rib so my husband settled for ’ medium’ it which was fairly tender. Mashed potatoes and broccoli casserole were either overdone or left to warm too long. My turkey was tasty, stuffing very dry, and what purported to be Mac & cheeses was penne with what looked like Velveta melted over it. Dinner was lukewarm and marginal. The good news. service was excellent, salad bar, fresh with good variety, desserts looked and tasted like GFS, but was all you can eat. I explained the problems with my meal and assured the manager I felt it was just they were overwhelmed. I’ve heard good things about the regular Italian fare and based on service, price, ambiance and customer service, I will certainly return.

If anyone is coming here expecting an Italian restaurant, they will be sorely disappointed. Casa Bianca is the new incarnation of the former«White House» which was in this location for I believe 30 years. White House had a theme of early America, a colonial feel, portraits of US Presidents, dark wood, a restaurant housed in an actual old dwelling, divided into various rooms, one of which is the bar, aptly decorated with tavern-appropriate items. White House was apparently once quite good, but in recent years(as of the time we first discovered it) it was on an irreversible downhill track, and closed in early 2012. I was thrilled to learn that a purportedly Italian restaurant was opening here, but terribly disappointed to walk in and see: a colonial feel, portraits of US presidents, dark wood, a restaurant housed in old dwelling, divided into various rooms, one of which is the bar, aptly decorated with tavern-appropriate items. The new ownership did NOTHING in the way of changing the décor to give it the feel of an Italian restaurant. Nothing. It’s the White House, with a different sign outside and a somewhat improved menu. But you will also note that a fair number of White House items remain on the menu. The menu offerings would more aptly be described as American(new), with a smattering of Italian-inspired dishes. It is not owned by Italians-Americans, nor is the chef an Italian American. We have dined here twice, 9 to 10 months ago, and today we stopped in just to experience the bar. On a scale of 1 to 5, the food is a three. The service a 1 ½. The bar was unattended more often than not. The wine list had some of the tiniest print I’ve ever seen, with the prices in italics yet, but holding it very close to my face and squinting I could determine the price of the one my husband wanted was six dollars. So he ordered it, and the bill showed it at seven dollars. We pointed it out, there was actually a brief argument, and we had to point it out on the wine list.(The bartender had to squint too!). It was also very queer to see sales-tax applied to two cocktails at the bar. We questioned that, and the owner went into a song and dance about programming the cash register. They need to drop the Italian flag flying outside. It is just way too big of a disappointment when you get inside. It’s probably too late, but I would have recommended renaming it «Casabianca House» or something along those lines. There is a WAY big difference between Italian cuisine and Italian-inspired items on an otherwise modern American menu. On the upside: as of now, seven days a week there is happy hour from 1:30 till 7:30PM during which every appetizer is half-price, reduced prices on house wines and well drinks, and one dollar domestic drafts. So, this could potentially be a weeknight stop in for a bit of eating and drinking on the cheap. But beware: a table tent stated that«kids eat free» from Sunday to Wednesday. Which means I would be avoiding those evenings like the plague! Nothing spoils a bar or tavern experience like a bunch of misplaced children.

I went to Casa Bianca the other night for a friend’s rehearsal dinner. I hadn’t been inside in about 15 years(back when it was the White House!). For the rehearsal dinner — we had about 30 people and we were in a fairly small room. It wasn’t too bad though. The room was nice, it was just a little difficult to get around the table. We had limited food choices because of it being the wedding rehearsal dinner but I had the lasagna and it was really delicious. The portion was HUGE and incredibly rich. I only made it about 2⁄3 of the way through it! They gave us bread baskets(tasty bread!) and small salads(nothing to write home about). They do make most of their dressings in-house. The ranch was really good. For dessert, they brought us out cookies with whip cream on top. The bride and groom had no idea that they were even doing that. The cookies were just okay. I was too full to eat much of it. The staff was incredibly friendly. Everyone was super attentive — my soda glass was always full. I would definitely go back and try other menu items for a regular dining experience — but I don’t live in the area so it won’t be any time too soon.

We were looking for somewhere middle of the afternoon on a Sunday. First visit to Casa Bianca. It was pretty empty on a Sunday afternoon at 3:30ish, so we got pretty awesome service. First thing we had was the Brie which was tasty. Then we had the lasagna and a pizza half and half. Both halves were good and the lasagna was one of the best I’ve had at any restaurant. We were early enough to get the happy hour drink prices so that was good. Nice wine choices and draft beer. Since we ordered an entrée we got a free desert. It tasted home made and was delish. The reason for a 4 instead of a 5 was we weren’t sure how typical the experience was considering the day and time. Will definitely be back at a different time to see how it compares.

The menu was very promising, but the food was mediocre at best. My chicken pasta in blue cheese garlic sauce had no blue cheese. When it came out it was Luke warm band not hot. The apple pie was not homemade, but grocery store quality. Very disappointed.

I was tired of all the chain restaurants and was looking for something different. Quaint. Local. Independent. Casa Bianca fit that bill. Restaurant is, as the name implies, located in a big White House.(I believe this location was formerly the«White House» restaurant, but that closed, and morphed into an Italian version.) Food was decent. Very much like Italian comfort food. Not stellar or inspired… not a fusion of different cuisines. Not«knocked it out of the park» good. Just good decent Italian food. I was a bit disappointed in the portion size of my ravioli — what was described as «An ample portion of hand-stuffed ravioli» was in reality 7 raviolis measuring about 2“x2“x1cm. A bit smaller. When the server dropped off the plate, I kind of chuckled inside. No big deal, I wasn’t super hungry… and the free bread and herb butter made up for it. Came with Caesar salad too. My SO ordered a wood-fired oven pizza. Pretty tasty. Better than my ravioli for the price. After the meal, they brought by a free desert: sort of a chocolatey sponge cake soaked in a light syrup and topped with raspberry sauce — WOW! Delicious! Service was great. Décor and atmosphere was quaint, if a bit slanted toward the over 45 set. All in all, a great experience… nice departure from Bravo or Olive Garden italian food. We’ll be back
