I would like to make extra LOUD over-the-roodtops shout out to Cape May, NJ’s ABSOLUTELYWONDERFUL restaurant: Good Earth Organic Eatery. Contrano(the amazingly talented chef) and his lovely wife/business partner, Hilary, hosted a private meal at our Cape May rental home for my wedding rehearsal dinner on September 25th — and it was beyond anything I could have asked for in presentation, hospitality, and most importantly, taste!!! Hilary even went so far as to making meal tags to tell guests exactly what they were eating. From the appetizers and hor devours(think: tuna bruschetta and seasonal September salad with a lemon chia vinaigrette dressing) to the dinner and dessert options(take for example, local seafood risotto and cauliflower alfredo pasta) everything was amazing! Before the meal, I gave a little speech telling my guests about Good Earth’s mission to nourish its local community and visitors with local, seasonal made with love meals. They sure did that! Every guest(LITERALLY) was raving about the dinner even after the wedding. Plus, we had PLENTY of left overs which we shared with some lucky ones. Thank you to Hilary, Contrano and your team for making me and my husband’s Cape May wedding(which was at the equally awesome Willow Creek Winery) beyond our wildest dreams.

Always great! We stop here every time we are here. We even had their Lima Bean chili at the Lima Bean festival in Cape May yesterday!

This place is such an amazing hidden gem in Cape May. My wife and I had been here and were so blown away by the thought and care they take with their food, we then actually had them cater our rehearsal dinner for our wedding in Cape May. This is the first restaurant we recommend in Cape May, and really the first restaurant we recommend down the shore in general. All local, sustainable, healthy, and — most importantly — very high quality, great tasting food. Couldn’t recommend it more.

We had a very pleasant eatery experience here, the food and service was excellence, the ambience and music was cozy. We especially like the seiten stew. It was savory. The organic coffee with almond milk was very pleasant, when staying in Cape May we will return there.. Namaste

We just happened upon this yummy place on our way out of town. Had the hummus sandwich, garden salad with their homemade tuna(totally delicious) brown rice with spinach which had carrots and onions to give great flavor. While we were waiting for our food, this family got smoothies. We couldn’t resist — totally worth it. And their homemade macaroons with dark chocolate were a great treat. Wish we had found it earlier in our trip.

An Italian chef who knows how to cook macrobiotic food. What an amazing treat! The food was super yummy and nourishing for body and soul. Everything we ordered was fantastic. My favorites were the soup of the day(I am sure they are all good) and the chocolate pudding with toasted almonds. I don’t always order dessert but since I love love love Italian desserts this was a must and I am super happy I did. We were lucky to get there early and it was very peaceful which I imagine it always is. You have to order at the counter but the wait staff was to our table probably ten times bringing whatever we needed, talking about the food and just being friendly in general. A gentleman I believe to be the chef owner even came out to play with the baby. All the staff were very sweet. My family cannot wait to visit Cape May again so we can go back.

We stumbled upon this place after driving around looking for something to eat that was somewhat healthy with my daughter. Being vegetarians, it’s sometimes a struggle to find good options on vacation. This place is a gem. The food is so incredibly fresh and amazingly delicious, you want to slow down and savor every bite. The owners/chef are Italian and really know how to prepare fresh food. We ate here 2x in a week. Highly recommended! My daughter’s review: I would definitely recommend going to Good Earth, especially if you are vegan or vegetarian but they have other options too. I went with my Mom and the minute you walk in it smells like heaven. The décor was great and the food was A+. I got the pasta with olive oil and my Mom got the ginger carrot spaghetti. It was possibly the best thing I’ve ever eaten. My Mom agreed. I also got the chickpea hummus with carrots and cucumbers and it was divine. It did take a while for the food but it was completely worth it. Go to Good Earth!

Good food and service, fabulous atmosphere. Good Earth is a little vegan-friendly restaurant that describes its fare as Italian macrobiotic. It’s simple good with a twist from what I’ve seen at other vegan restaurants. The staff is attentive and friendly and our meal itself was filling but not heavy. We got the seaweed chickpea salad, sunflower pesto pasta, and chocolate almond pudding.

My favorite and only place to eat! Homemade food at its best. Wonderful soups, delicious hummus, and fantastic pasta dishes. The pesto sauce is unbelievable! My husband is a seafood lover and always orders the clams as an appetizer. We could go to various restaurants in the area for seafood but he loves it here. The fish is always fresh and made with care. If you care about the food you put in your body, this is where you should eat. They only use local organic produce. Bring a bottle of wine and be patient… good food takes time to prepare. This is European dining at its best. It’s hard to recommend one item… order the bruschetta, vegetarian mixed plate, sunflower seed pesto pasta, spaghetti with ginger, and, of course the pizza. Love it all!

Whenever I’m on the road and traveling, I am always searching for«organic» and healthy places to eat. This came up in my search on Cape May. As a few other reviewers noted, the people here are not overtly warm and welcoming but I didn’t find them cold and UNwelcoming, either. Just quiet and low key. They tried to be helpful and offered suggestions for my son(not at all a picky eater but cranky as he** and impossible to please on this day.) I got him a shrimp app(which was very good but he suddenly decided NOTHUNGRY, of course.) I got the«sweet greens» green juice which was far better than the last place I tried getting a green juice. I also got the tuna sandwich w raw veg(so tasty — and I loved the salad with sprouts and sunflower seeds). My mom got the hummus plate which was very different from a typical hummus plate — it was also very good. I’d definitely go back here again if I’m ever in the area again.

Well… the lady that«welcomed us» was so miserable it was quite a depressing and downbeat experience… very unusual for an organic/healthy restaurant! :-( During our lunch, at least 3 locals walked in and the experience for them was significantly different — she was chatty, smiley and friendly and at that stage we realized she just didn’t like tourists — a very strange attitude for someone running a restaurant business in a tourist town… it’s possible she was having a bad day, but we just didn’t get that impression — from the start we felt like it was«service with a sneer» for the out of towners… We enjoyed our lunch — it was fresh, tasty and healthy… but it was rather marred by the attitude of the server — so disappointing for us as we are used to such a good welcome in vegan/veggie restaurants… The menu says it’s a family run restaurant — so I really hope she was just having a bad day, as it did not feel like that to us… So, good food, but if you’re not local, the experience(for us at least) was not very inspiring — we would not return after this experience… such a shame as we do try to support local/family run/small establishments… especially those serving organic/vegan/veggie food…

We were in Cape May for 3 days and ate here twice… need i say more? The only way to get food more fresh and natural than this would be to go to a farm, pick veggies from the ground then take them home to eat. Wait — that is pretty much what is happening here. We had lunch for $ 29 and dinner for $ 47. Felt great to give them my money. That said-The place itself it kind of dump-or to say in a nice way«hole in the wall». The location is secondary at best, spackle marks on the walls and whats looks like hand me down tables and chairs. Who cares, its clean and so is the food. Felt great to eat fresh food and not pay an arm and a leg.

Organic, vegan, made to order, and absolutely delicious! They also feature fresh local seafood specials(prepared without dairy, etc). The setting is intimate — wood bench seats with pillows, candles on the tables, classical/jazz background music, and you can watch the chef work! Even though the restaurant was on the quiet side, it was totally kid friendly. A toddler was sitting near to us and the chef was happy to make smaller portions for our kids. Everything we ordered was tasty & fresh. Slightly off the beaten path; this was a real find! PS: the vegan gluten free chocolate rice pudding was outstanding!
