Panico Salon & Spa

I went here a few times sporadically in the past, but I recently stopped in for a cut and blow out. I needed a good trim and shape up. I noticed a big improvement from last time I came — It was super clean and had a larger ratio of staff on the floor. Looked like many interns. Actually my hair dresser was an intern too! She was very sweet and she seemed very knowledgeable with a great background in her field. What I really liked, was before, during, and after the process, the owner came over and what looked like tested her accuracy, as well as asked for my approval each step of the way. That really showed effort and care towards the clients. I left with a huge smile on my face, even though she cut a LITTLE more than I anticipated! But hell, my hair grows like a weed!

Some of these reviews are silly. I for one do not care what the inside looks like (I went to nothing but cheap Asian salons my entire life), but I didn’t see anything wrong with it, it seemed really nice to me.
Upon entering, I was immediately greeted and had my coat taken and was offered something to drink. I noticed how perfect everyone’s hair was and felt awful because here I was getting off of work (they got me in 30 minutes prior to calling) with my frizzy messy pink updo. When I had called prior they did ask which level of designer I wanted, I asked for anyone 3 and under ($ 60 and under).
I was given my «designer» Danny. I explained to him that the most important part to all of my mess is my bangs, if my bangs don’t come out right Ill be miserable. I showed him pictures of the bangs I’ve had and would like to stay with. I also showed him what my current «A bob» should look like. Told him that I didn’t want more than a half inch cut off and crossed my fingers as he assured me he would do exactly what I wanted.
I was then escorted to the shampooing station, where a girl shampooed and conditioned my hair while trying to make awkward talk every 5 minutes. The neck rest to the sink are beyond uncomfortable. I noticed she had a hard time combing my hair (naturally curly/​wavy/​wtf frizzy) and its a good thing I don’t have a sensitive scalp and enjoyed the hair pulling.
Back to Danny.
Trim, trim, trimming away. He took off exactly how much I wanted. We talked about the product that turned my hair to mush (Soy-​Plex hi-​lift if anyone is interested) what brands and products I use on my hair, he recommend me a keratin treatment to help my hair that I bought for $ 20? I believe.
On the bangs! The scariest of the scary. He told me to part my bangs how I usually do, then he showed me how much he was about to cut off and asked if that was okay. I agreed and snip snip. I asked for them to be a tiny bit shorter and he exactly did a tiny bit shorter.
When they told me Danny was a level 2 «designer» I didn’t really have high standards, I just went in with a «I need to do this» attitude. But overall Danny was very thorough, constantly asking questions, highly detailed. I’ve never met a stylist who did exactly what you asked for instead of what they think they should do. He did an amazing job and I’ll definitely keep going back to him.

Zero stars. I had a bad experience here when I was younger where I was completely taken advantage of. In a place like this, the ambiance is used to cover up the severe lack of professionalism and talent. I have yet to hear a single positive experience from someone visiting this salon.

Definitely a pricey salon for a place that doesn’t feel upscale at all.
If I am going to pay good money I expect more than just a single process service or an ombré! It’s called excellent customer service from the moment you step in to feeling invigorating from the second you leave. Not happening here !
Here’s the real downer:
The salon lacks professionalism from staff and especially from the owner.
you would expect the owner or at least someone from upper management to be charismatic enough to walk around and greet all guests who come thru the door and carry somewhat of a convo but no!
Here’s a surprise:
You do have interns working here so be careful who you deal with. The interns are guided by the stylist but you never know! Your hair may turn out blue !
Here’s the truth:
The stylist I do trust and perhaps the nicest, sweetest, loving person there is Jennifer D.S.
Jennifer likes to play it safe with me and wants you to leave satisfied and I do appreciate playing it safe when it comes to my hair. She did great job on my ombré last year and this time around I can’t wait to see my results in 2 weeks!

if your looking for a salon that has top stylists that have up to date knowledge om the latest hair styles and color this is the place to be they know everyone by name and always take the time to say hello no matter how busy they are.

I absolutely love this salon and love my stylist, Jen Marinho. She is the sweetest and most attentive stylist I’ve ever had. She listens to her clients and always gives an honest opinion. I always get complimented on my hair after I leave Panico. I won’t let another soul touch my hair but her-I’ll follow her wherever she goes lol! If you’re in the need of a new stylist I highly recommend you give her a try. A++!

Recently, I had walked into Panico salon on a whim to see if I could possibly get squeezed in for a blow out. Sure enough, I was quickly accommodated and had a wonderful wash with a massage and then a blow out by Jacqueline S. I was very impressed by her ability to give my straight hair some body and bounce with just a blow out.
Fast forward to last week, I scheduled an appointment to have Jacqueline color, cut and style my hair and change up my style a bit.
I am happy to say that the color was brightened with a scattered bunch of highlights around my face, I was give an easy to manage cut without a major loss of my hair length, and best of all a new way to «do» my hair for those nights that I want something different. I am happy to say that I get complimented on my hair frequently and that lately people not only notice my «new» hair but take the time out to say how great it looks.
My profile picture is the first time Jacqueline worked on my hair. I went to a wedding that night and was quite pleased that the style lasted the entire time.

Tom is the manager at Panico Salon. He is also one of the best, most professional hair stylists in the industry. No matter how bad a mess someone else has made of your hair – Tom will eventually fix it. Trust me I am brutal on beauticians because I have gotten burned so many times. The difference is that he listens and truly tries to give you what you are looking for. It may take a little time but you will eventually be very happy with his service. Especially good at fixing haircuts!!!

I am always weary of getting my hair cut and I had put it off for several months. I called on a whim because I was passing the place on my way home from west Caldwell and they were very polite, accommodating, and upfront about the price. With such short notice on my part I did pay $ 100 dollars because I was with one of their senior stylists, but I have to say that it was the best haircut I’ve had in years. Stephanie listened to everything I said and all of my concerns and gave me exactly what I wanted. She finished my entire blow out even though her next appointment was there and also gave me some great advice (turning the temperature on my chi down from 420 to 375). I think having confidence that you’ll walk out with a haircut you love is worth the money. Oh and also they had very good iced tea.

Went in here for a loose messy updo for my sisters wedding. Despite the fact that I showed up with several pictures and even extensions, I walked out with what appeared to be a bump it and a helmet head. Not even close! I told them to add braids and this was completley ignored. When it was finished I almost started crying and the girl gave me major attitude.
Spent so much time and effort to look nice on this special day and I just wish I did my hair myself. Ruined my entire day :(

My first visit to Panico i needed my roots done. Instead of my roots matching the rest of my blonde hair, the stylist dyed them dark brown. NOT even close.
My second visit to Panico I waited one hour and a half after my scheduled appointment.
My third and final visit to Panico I wanted bangs and received NO bangs. The stylist did what she wanted and chopped my beautiful hair off (7 inches).
Save yourself the time and skip this salon.

I feel compelled to warn anyone who wants a nice, stylish, modern, short haircut NEVER to even consider going to this salon. I had my hair cut here by a young woman whose name I can’t remember, but it was the worst salon experience of my life. I went in asking for a short, bob, stacked in the back, and came prepared with pictures of myself with the same cut — from all angles. I also asked for my naturally dirty blond hair to be highlighted w/​golden blond, sun-​kissed, natural highlights — also shown in the pictures of myself. To make a long story short, the stylist screwed up so badly and took so long doing it that the salon had to close for the day… She asked me to come back the next day so that she could finish. «Ummm…What??? I’m going to need a mirror here to check out the back.” — I ended up with dark brown hair that was shaved in the back!!! I demanded the top stylist of the salon the next day, Tom, but unfortunately even he couldn’t fix the cut. (He did fix the color though.) The first stylist had gotten the angle of the stack SO wrong, that all the top stylist could do was cut the rest off for me. I looked like a man, and it took a full year to grow out! I have friends who regularly go to this salon and like the results, but if you want something other than long, uncomplicated tresses, you’d better find another salon. Run. Don’t walk.
