They just dont care. Theyve been there too long and they seem to think you owe them your business Also the owner Phyllis is nasty and rude. I guess she doesn’t get any, for obvious reasons.

Honestly I did not think the pizza was very good. When I am in this area of the country I expect good pizza. The crust was lacking in flavor and the pie needed more pepperoni. The garlic knots were lacking a bit as well.

I stopped by after a long day at a seminar and got a half eggplant parm sandwich and a slice to go. About 10 minutes wait, another 5 – 7 minutes to get home, and It was still warm by the time I sat down to eat. The sandwich was tasty and crispy, albeit a bit oily. The slice was ok. It’s an okay filler if you’re hungry. but it won’t satisfy your pizza craving.

We ordered from Franks last night at 8:10pm, didn’t receive the pies until 9:55pm. We called repeatedly and each time was told that the pies would be there shortly. After our pies arrived we called Franks again to better understand what the issue was regarding the major delay and why it took 1 hour and 45 minutes to deliver 3 pies 5 blocks. My wife called and after being called«hun» by the initial person she spoke to, she asked to speak to the manager. The manager, Phillis, was by far one of the most unprofessional and rude managers we have ever spoken to. Phillis called my wife dumb repeatedly and told us we should have ordered from dominos instead. Being a family oriented town and serving our community, this is unacceptable behavior from a business and a manager. From now own we will be ordering from other business and not from Franks. I don’t appreciate my wife being called«Hun» in and effort to belittle her or trivialize her complaint and furthermore to have a business call a customer dumb is enough for me to write this review and suggest Franks is not a quality family oriented Caldwell business.

I don’t understand the negative reviews. Its not the best trattoria I’ve been too but i sure like it. The staff might not be too friendly but they’re also not all that bad. I personally don’t care to be greeted when i walk in a store/restaurant. I love their penne vodka which is what i usually get and they have great calzones.

I would give it 0 starts if I could. Went in today to grab a slice, and I was greeted by no one, in an empty restaurant. I go to the counter and order the«lunch special» of 2 slices and a soda for $ 4… The soda was more like a shot. A miniscule drink and 2 crappy slices for $ 4? I can get a better deal in NYC«the most expensive city in the world.» The pizza isn’t even made by Italians, which makes me reAlize why it tasted like ketchup with cheddar cheese. I asked for a refill for my baby soda and they said it would be $ 1.39… seriously?! Is business the bad that you need to charge $ 1.39 for less than $.50 worth of soda?! Rude service to boot… I will not be returning.

My favorite hometown pizza since the Franco’s mess. They have all the specialty pies I want, penne vodka/buffalo chicken/ziti… and they make the crust thick enough to have a nice crunch. I love picking up a slice loaded with toppings that holds itself up from the crust.

I walked in here around 130pm on a weekday. None of the pizza looked appealing as they all appeared to have been left awhile so instead of buying pizza I chose the«safe» garlic knots. Didn’t realize someone could mess up garlic knots… They tasted sooooo old after a couple of bites I asked the counter person how old were they? He responded with a «what?!» I repeated myself and he said not cold. I asked were these from a couple days ago he said I don’t know maybe yesterday… Seriously? HORRIABLE !

Pizza variety pretty good… however, the amount of grease that poured out onto my plate was gross. Get a handle on that, dudes.

The only word to describe Frank’s is INCONSISTENT. I’ve had their pizza several times, and it has never tasted the same way twice. The weakest link is their crust. They rush the process and don’t cold-cure it overnight like the pros do. I once ordered a calzone, and watched in disbelief as the guy took a pre-made calzone off the shelf and stuck it in a MICROWAVE. He couldn’t understand why I had a problem with this. I don’t care if it’s made ahead of time, but for cryin’ out loud — heat it in the OVEN!

Down & dirty NJ Italian food. You find the soccer team here after a game, the family out for pizza or ziti, the couple who wants a quick, reliable bite… or me… stuffing my face with eggplant parm whenever I’m visiting my old hometown. I just love this place. The pizza is why NJ pizza gets such rave reviews: perfect sauce that’s not too spicy… good amount of cheese, medium to thin crust that’s crispy but has enough softness to allow for the fold… mmm…time to go pick up my to-go order now… The pizza is best when eaten-in…I don’t love it as much when it sits for a few minutes… loses crispness… that’s just me though…
