MassageLuXe – West Bloomfield

I went for the first time last week. I called the day before and they were able to get me in, which is pretty awesome as my schedule is crazy. I was told to arrive 10 mins early to fill out paperwork. No big deal. They were running behind but he came to tell me while the other person was dressing. The actual massage was pretty good. Deep tissue. Got all of my knots out. My favorite part of the massage is usually having my head rubbed. He must have ran out of time? Bc he didn’t touch it at all. Afterwards the lady up front tried to sell me a package. I got a gift card for my birthday and that’s why I came. I tried explaining this and she kept pushing. I kept repeating that I had a very busy schedule and that I didn’t have time for a monthly massage.

First time going everything was great! Met Ken, and he is an amazing massage therapist! Then one day I called to switch my appt and hey recommended David, who was super nice, but he didn’t do a full body massage like a requested and I actually ended up at the doctors office the next day due to very bad bruising on my shoulder blade. I struggled very bad at work with my back, I’m a hairstylist. And I also had to cancel my personal trainer appt because I wasn’t able to move to much. After all this I decided to make sure my next massage was with Ken again. They called my a week before my appt because he doesn’t work on Mondays anymore, and that is my only day off so I couldn’t do any other days because I work 6 days a week, which I completely understand that, so I decided to cancel my membership because I didn’t want to see any one else because their last recommendation, who they said was very comparable to ken, wasn’t good at all. They told me if I cancelled my membership that I would loose my appts, I explained that if I knew Ken couldn’t work on me in advance I would have called and cancelled my membership in advance to avoid me paying for a service I wouldn’t use, and they didn’t care about that. I asked for the manager Gina to call me back and it’s been 4 days now and still no call, and I also asked Alyssa the receptionist to ask the District Manager to call me and it’s been 4 days now and no call either. So as a new client of having a memebership for 3 months you’d think they’d be a bit better with customer service! I don’t recommend this place at all. Try Massage Envy down the street or the Thai massage places on northwestern highway!

A nice young man to begin with, our conversation was very interesting, and he is very knowledgeable about many subjects. My aches and pains disappeared under his steady and strong hands. And get this: They are currently offering special pricing! 1 hour — $ 38 (Reg. $ 74) or 1.5 hour — $ 58 (Reg. $ 111). Just mention my name at the West Bloomfield or Novi location for this great offer. You will LOVE it — I promise you!

Love this place! All the therapists are great, as well as the receptionists! It’s not always easy to get a time you prefer, but it’s worth it anyway!

While the décor is lovely the staff is another story. The front desk lady was trying too hard to fit into a «west bloomfield» mold. The massage therapist I saw seemed inexperienced. The room was freezing and the entire staff was pushing WAY too hard on signing up for the monthly massage package. Overall, would not recommend.
