Shhh! This place is so good, it should be kept a secret! It’s a hidden gem out in the boondocks. It’s a steakhouse with fantastic food and amazing prices! They’ve got steaks, seafood, pasta, chicken, appetizers and desserts. Entrees are served with breadsticks, soup or salad and choice of potato. Saturday nights, they feature prime rib. They offer 3 sizes: duchess, queen and king. My brother ordered the king cut. It’s 30−32oz of yummy goodness. This thing is huge! It’s cut thick and fills the plate. Cooked to perfection, with hardly any fat or waste, he absolutely loved it! And at $ 39, it’s a bargain. I had surf & turf: a 12oz filet mignon paired with a lobster tail. Priced at $ 53, it was fabulous! My steak & lobster were both cooked perfect and tasted delicious. The steak was seasoned with some kind of mix of peppercorns and maybe garlic or salt. Whatever it was, I liked it. The whole family enjoyed their meals. My brother was even impressed with their coffee. He asked our server what kind of coffee they serve, because he liked it so much. At the end of the meal, the server presents a dessert tray, with a half dozen of the most gorgeous looking cakes and tortes you’ve ever seen. Unfortunately we were all too full to partake in any dessert. Next time, for sure!

Visited on Friday night and had an excellent experience. Before dinner we had a drink at the bar, very friendly bartenders. Ate upstairs in a very nice private setting. The seafood special was excellent(especially the scallops). Desserts looked wonderful, to full from dinner to try. Will definitely go back. Would like to try the steaks.

I’m kind of torn by this place a bit. I’ve driven by it a number of times and always wanted to stop. Got a recent groupon so we decided to try it out. Tried to get a reservation but they don’t give them out(ok. lots of places don’t anymore). Went on a Friday night. The hostess certainly could use some lessons in how to hostess. Took our name and basically turned away. I asked her how long it would be and she said«at least an hour». Ok… but I think next time tell someone how long the wait is before you take their name and turn away from them. She pretty much acted like she was doing me a huge favor to even take my name. We DID find a seat at the bar luckily. The bartenders were great. Very friendly, attentive. After an hour got a table. Service was a bit slow but the server was very friendly and attentive. Ordered some wonton moz sticks. They were just ok as the was the sauce they were with. Not super hot either. Both of us ordered the fish fry. LONG wait to get food. Salad and soup were both«just ok» nothing special, nothing bad. I also ordered the cauliflower mash as my potato. I expected mashed cauliflower, but it was really mashed potatoes WITH cauliflower. That being said, it was excellent. I ordered the fish sampler(shrimp, perch, walleye). The shrimp were pre-frozen out of a bag but it’s hard to keep fresh shrimp on hand — average. Walleye and perch were both excellent. Nice light batter, well cooked and hot. Overall the fish was very good. Prices were high for where/what it is. I might go back, but only for the fish fry. Given the prices of the other entrée’s, and what it is, it wouldn’t be my «go to place»

I’ve been here quite a few times. Unfortunately the last few times have been either blaaaa or bad. Was here with another couple last weekend and we all had steaks. 3 of us had the tenderloin — 1 was cooked ok, the other two were well done. We sent them back and they came back out RARE. The waitress was kind of rude about it, but when you’re spending $ 35 for a small steak I feel like it should be cooked properly. I understand things happen. But between the 4 of us we spent over $ 200, and 2 of us had to watch the other 2 eat while our potato went cold. They didn’t offer anything off the bill, a drink while we waited or even a dessert. This was the last time, we won’t be back.

I have been meaning to go here for a while, but a recent Groupon offer finally pushed me to try it out. The bottom line: it’s so-so; nothing special, but nothing terrible, although it is pricey, especially given its location. I doubt we’ll be headed back anytime soon, if at all, because it is out of the way for us and wasn’t worth the drive. The décor is okay — think old general store on a country road crossed with a bar. The service was good — honestly, this would have been 2 stars without the service. Our server Dawn was very cordial, knowledgeable and attentive. For starters, we tried the prime rib chili and the baked french onion soup. For entrees, we tried the fried chicken and BBQ ribs, and our kids tried the pasta, pizza, and hot dog kids meals(3 different meals). The soup was average to above average; no problems there. The chili was very heavy handed with the tomato — the tomato was so acidic that it just overpowered everything else — not a fan. The chicken was simply not good. It was very over-cooked — not burnt, but very tough. It takes a lot to make dry fried chicken, but they succeeded there. We were also not a fan of the breading. The ribs were okay. My wife did not care for the sauce at all, but i thought it was acceptable. My gripe there was that the«BBQ» ribs were clearly boiled, and then finished on the grill or oven. Why, why, why do places insist on boiling their ribs?!! Yes, the bones slide right out, but it just kills the flavor. I am spoiled because I get ribs in Kansas City all the time, so maybe I am more sensitive to it, but dang what a waste of some good swine. The kids meals were average — you can’t expect a whole lot there. Pasta and marinara, store bought hot dog, «pizza» was a pita with canned red sauce and mozzarella. Although, they do make some interesting homemade steak fries. We didn’t try the desserts, but they looked good. I think that the server Dawn bakes a lot of them because i overheard her speaking to another customer about them. Prices are a bit high, especially on some of the seafood and steak entrees. Examples would be the Lobster Mac N’ Cheese($ 32), and their 24oz. T-bone($ 35). My issue could be perception though — for instance, a T-bone by definition has a small tenderloin. If it was a Porterhouse(T-bone with a larger tenderloin) it would be less of an issue.

We walked in and it smelled like a mix of bo, smoke and aftershave. Nobody was there to great us, nobody to tell us how long the wait was. Tons of people waiting to be seated. Tons of empty tables. The food looked subpar. We left. Won’t be back.

Good food horrible service. Like watching a bad car crash with this staff. Took 37 minutes to get soup. Unreal.

My family has been visiting the local restaurants looking for that go to place for a nice dinner and we found it tonight. Absolutely one of the best nights out. We had the cod fish fry and 2 kids meals. Homemade tater sauce that was the best, cream chicken and wild rice and the beverages were top notch. My husband even ordered a second plate of fish. Thank you to all the staff, we will be back.

What a nice rustic place in the middle of nowhere. The food was delish! From the fish to the prime rib and lobster. Then came the decadent desserts. Yumm. Great place to go when you are ready to treat yourself to a nicer meal. Friendly attentive service. Thank you Matt and Sarah. You were both curteous and especially patient with the kids and our autistic adult son. We will definetly be back for another family get together soon.

Disclaimer: I only go here on fridays and order the fish fry and this review is based on that. Alot of people like to through out the term hidden gem when describing a great hard to find restaurant so using it here is almost a disservice to describe ozaukees best hidden gem. If you are visiting I highly recommend dining here. The experience starts on your drive out. This place is literally in the middle of nowhere bordering a few farms. The building itself resembles an old farmhouse but the inside is a good mix of antique furniture and 21st century cuisine. A great place for groups and adults. I believe they have a kids meal aswell. The building has two floors for seating. I prefer the second floor because its furthest from the front door. and less noisey. As for the food the fishfry is superb. Perfectly fried and very light. Price is good for what you are getting. So if your up for great food with atmosphere to back it up this is the place.

Solid 4 stars on the food and 5 stars on the service. So 4.5? The prime rib was excellent. It was cooked a perfect medium rare and was very tender. The au jus was very robust in flavor enhancing each bite rather than just being there to make the meat more juicy. If you look at the pictures I took, one is darker than the other die to the blackened seasonings. They are a $ 2 add on but worth it as the depth and layer of flavor with the seasonings and the au jus were deepened appreciably. Mine was still a nice medium rare as you can see when cut open, just darker in appearance. The only contention we had was the french onion soup which my wife said was bland though beautiful in appearance, and the scallops. They were VERY lightly pan seared with hardly any carmelization, as if they had just kissed the pan they were cooked in. As such they were a nice med touch rare with a beautiful translucence that made them very tender. They were however quite cold, not even luke warm. Had I ordered sashimi I would have been happy bit as it was we mentioned it to the server who took them back. When they reappeared on the same plate they were quite rubbery as they had been subjected to the microwave to heat them. When asked how they were we were honest in our appraisal. Though he did not say so at the time our server took this into consideration at the end of the meal leaving us satisfied with his resolution. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable experience that we look forward to repeating soon!

Nice atmosphere, good food. Not a five star since I personally prefer my food hot, not room temperature. But, the prime rib was one of best I have had. Scallops were tasty even though they became chewy after they microwaved them since they came out even colder than room temp. Overall, I would try them again…

What an exceptional little gem in the middle of some farm fields. It looks like a small farmhouse and the inside is warm and inviting with that country/rustic feel. We started off with the spinach artichoke dip and a couple house martinis. The dip was creamy, hot and the artichokes and spinach were perfectly combined for a textured and flavorful experience in every bite. There was a combination of pita chips and toasted bread for dipping and were perfectly complimentary. My girlfriend had the 6 oz filet and scallops entrée with a side of mashed cauliflower. The steak was cooked to exact medium rare and the scallops melted in your mouth. Definitely the star of the meal, but the side of mashed cauliflower was excellent and flavored well. I had the 12 oz filet with Bleu cheese crusting and a baked potato. Done to a perfect medium rare and all I can truly say is that it melted in my mouth and was one of the better steaks I have had. We were too full for dessert, but the tray of desserts was quite enticing. Our server, Dawn, was attentive, cheerful, and perfect for the atmosphere. Since we were celebrating this night, it was good to have great food and excellent service as a cherry on our cake of the day.

Love this restaurant and have been coming here for years and really like the family that owns it. ?39? for your scallops? Come on… can buy them ½ the price and I KNOW you use frozen. Great atmosphere and hospitality ALWAYS.

This is by far one of my favorite restaurants in the area. We have exceptional service every time we dine, and the food is always spot on. I’ve had just about everything on the menu, and the standouts are the filet mignon(with blue cheese) and the fish(fish frys, too!). They have specials every weeknight that are also spectacular. They don’t take reservations, so try to arrive before prime dinner time. However, if you do need to wait, I have never been waiting over 20 minutes for a table. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Great going out environment. The Unilocal $$$ suggests expensive and that’s not quite true. You can get a good meal for under $ 20. It’s definitely borderline. The food however is totally worth it. We ordered a few appetizers the Mozzarella sticks were wrapped in wonton wrappers and they are big and delicious. We had fried duck’s strips and those are also good. Then i had a creamy duck soup which was so packed with flavor it could have been gravy. The main courses were excellent as well.

Seriously, how would you ever know this place existed if it weren’t for word of mouth? It is in the middle of nowhere, but amazingly was relatively busy on a Thursday evening. It was my first time here and was recommended by some friends. Service was good, but atmosphere is a bit«run down». What do you expect in the middle of corn fields? What I care about most is the food and the prices associated with it. I ordered the 6 ounce Filet and 8 ounce Lobster Tail. I was a little hesitant about having Lobster in the middle of farm country, but thought better and was very happy with the results. The lobster was prepared perfectly and the candle drawn butter was exactly what I would expect at a more upscale establishment. The steak was tasty and I was impressed. Prices were a bit high, but I did order one of the most expensive things on the menu so who’s fault? Mine… Plenty of options for $ 20-$ 40. One item I was not a big fan of and a little disappointed about: Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts. We make them at home and thought they would be a nice starter to the meal. Over salted, over cooked, and couldn’t even finish all of them. From a man who loves these, that says something. Pass on those! Dinner salads are«weak» and I would recommend the soup over salads. All in all — good meal and neat obscure place to try out. We will be back…

Food was good, Shiela the waitress nice — but talked too fast. Amanda the bartender must have been having a bad night. Served me 3 day old wine which tasted quite sharp so I asked for fresh which she gave me. But when I sat at the table and couldn’t see what she was pouring from… I got the old shit. YUK She even admitted she wasn’t a wine drinker but thought it tasted fine… really? 2 with us asked for double vodka/cran and she skipped the double vodka but overpoured on the cran. Ordered 4 after dinner drinks, 2 martinis and 2 ice creams(which I know takes some time… used to bartend myself) BUT we got the martinis and 10 minutes later got the ice creams. Not right. I’m a polite customer, not unreasonable in my requests — don’t be put off because I asked for something not unreasonable. Be pleasant if you don’t mind.
