They ruined what was a nice little soup and sandwich place. They turned this into another over-priced fake«original» Cedarburg establishment that is far from original. There is no service as you have to stand at the front counter and wait to order. The food is incredibly bland and incredibly over-priced.

Great food at good prices. I like that the salads and the sandwiches are different and interesting. Good coffee drinks too. There was a recent renovation that really livened the place up. It is more fast casual now where as before there were servers. The changes to the setup and the menu are winners in my book.

Settlers Inn is under construction so I haven’t eaten at the restaurant yet. I look forward to doing so when the renovations are complete at the end of summer. I’ve had carryout numerous times. Each and every time the salads and/or sandwiches I’ve tried have been absolutely delicious. I also took home a few of their pre-made meals. The lasagna, pot pies and parmesan chicken were better than I could have made myself. My only regret is that I hadn’t been visiting this restaurant in the past. If there is a negative, it’s that they don’t currently take credit cards for their catering items(pre-made meals), they will, however, take a check. They do take credit cards for the carryout items. I understand that once the renovations are complete and the restaurant reopens then they will take credit cards for everything. Don’t forget to grab some brownies or cupcakes as they are equally as tasty. Each time I’ve been in, the owner and staff have been very friendly and thanked me for coming back.

I seriously can not believe this place! I wish I would have known about it a year and a half ago when we moved to Cedarburg! The food is amazing! Who needs to cook? Expertly prepared, wonderful people work there. I am addicted to the gluten free veggie lasagna ! I get it in the deli and cook it at home. 5 stars!

The wait staff is not the greatest. They don’t seem to know what customer service really is, but I don’t go there to socialize with the workers, I go there for the food. As long a they get my food out in a reasonable time frame, I’m good… and they do. Great homemade soups, burgers that will stand up to any establishment known for burgers, and one of the best Reuben sandwiches around. The hours are short… open for lunch only, but a good place to enjoy a good lunch.

Worst restaurant ever. The staff did not want to be there. They looked soooo miserable. It took forever to get our food and it really sucked. The fries were so greasy, we just left them. Atmosphere a real woofer. Place needs updated badly. The hours that this restaurant keeps are odd too. We’ll never go back.

It’s not that we ignore the charm and the welcoming air of an establishment that has been around since before the turn of the century in the heart of middle America, Cedarburg, WI. Despite it’s charm, our reason for the less-than-stellar review comes down to actually being welcomed. Aside from mediocre food, there was little attention paid to us and even less care given the menu. We’re not trying to be harsh, but there is something to be said about not paying $ 10 for what we can make at home, sometimes better, for $ 8 worth of food. Okay, most of the time better.

I have been stopping at Settler’s Inn for many years. I am surprised by the lack of reviews. It is surprising because a) it is NEVER empty; b) it has stood the test of time thanks to its food and influx of patrons. There is a lot of history(and conversations of olé) that haunt its confines. Those that enter its doors are stepping into a sarsaparilla time machine. The waitstaff can provide spotty service, depending on their mood(«Do not use the bathroom if you are not dining here.» You may be told this upon entering by the manager/owner, even if you are there to eat.). My 4-stars are bestowed because of the food. I know my meal will be homey and warming. Everything tastes fresh and hearty. I enjoy a homecooked meal, and the walls of the Settler’s Inn deliver that feel. They have homemade soups and pies to start and end your meal. Whether your starch of choice is a roll or their special house potato wedges, they prove the perfect match to your soup, salad, sandwich, burger, or panini. I often go with a wrap, but I went with my longing for a hot bowl of soup. Today was vegetable dumpling and crab bisque. I went with the dumpling dish and was pleased. The veggies stood up to the dense but pillowy texture of the dumplings. My fellow diners chose soup as well, another veg and the other a cup of bisque. The bisque also went with a monster salad(all of the salads come in size XL), the Southwest Chicken. Their salads consist of generous ingredients and healthy-looking greens. The only odd element with the SW salad was the dressing. It looked much like ketchup swirled in mayo, but was actually salsa in a ranch dressing. I tasted a bite of the dressing on a piece of romaine, and it tasted like it looked: unusual. That was the only minus. Otherwise, the meal and the service were superb. I make a plea to the many shoppers [and Unilocal members] along the main drag to stop here – except Sunday & Monday, when they are closed AND before 2:00 p.m. on the other days. My real plea is to Unilocal about it afterward. Share with the community, and let them know what they are missing.
