I’ve been here many times. Always enjoyed the food and atmosphere but the service has always been spotty. Last evening i stopped in to order takeout. i sat at the Sushi bar and ordered over $ 80 worth of Sushi and a Fried Rice dish. I ordered a drink from the bar as i waited. Well over 45 minutes later i noticed that several parties that were sat at tables long after i placed my order had eaten and/or were even finishing dinner. i noticed a plated tuna roll sitting on top of the sushi bar when i sat down… more on that later. the server helping me was very apologetic and even bought me another drink. approaching an hour i was getting visibly annoyed and the Owner got involved in getting my order together. Turns out the fried rice had been sitting on the counter, i saw it come up over 30 min before, and the owner started putting it in a bag. I had ordered a spicy tuna roll and in the owners wisdom she thought it ok to take that tuna roll from atop the sushi bar and package that in my to go order. keep in mind it was there before i got there. I called her out on this only to receive a blank stare. She then tried telling me that it wasnt the same dish. When i got home i was missing one of my orders, the Spicy tuna roll was indeed the warm, regular tuna roll from atop the sushi bar and the whole process took well over an hour and twenty minutes for simple take out. Oh and the beef fried rice was as cold as if it was in the refrigerator. I would normally give them a pass because it was a saturday night, however it is out of season and there were 8 or more open tables with no wait. Not exactly slammed.

After reading online about the ladies night and celebrating summer at Kontiki. It’s 8:15pm on Wednesday night 6⁄1 and we just arrived here for date night and the door is locked and lights are off, the candles inside on the tables are still lit but no one to be found. Complete bummer. :-(

I’ve been here several times and its always been great! The last time we went we Dylan assisted us and he was extremely friendly! The sushi is the best in Palm Beach County! The ambiance is phenomenal! Definitely recommend it to anyone. They usually have a DJ on ladies night and weekends!

No way. No how. The food is average. The service was horrendous. And the prices are through the roof. If I had the choice of taking a staple through my finger or dining here again, it would be a tough choice. Let’s start with the food. I ordered the pad Thai which at first I thought was a bad idea when I saw everyone else’s amazing looking sushi rolls come out. But then when everyone said that the rolls were just all rice and no substance I started to feel better with my decision. But more on this in a minute… The service. The server would come by when she was ready and then abruptly interrupt us to see what we needed. Then she’d disappear again for 15 minutes. I couldn’t figure out why the service was so lousy and kept telling my friends that it’s fine, don’t worry, the tip I leave will reflect my true feelings… But we’ll come back to this as well. The prices are unbelievable. But I guess someone has to pay the DJ… $ 18 for basically a lunch sized portion of Pad Thai is highway robbery, especially in a strip plaza in Wellington. $ 9 for 4 little steamed dumplings. Anyways you get the idea… So I ordered the pad Thai. I ate it. I wasn’t stuffed but I wasn’t starving. It was average. The service continued to diminish as the night went on. The music progressively got louder so our conversation at the table progressively got quieter. We didn’t ask for the checks, but they came anyways sort of a blessing in disguise, I suppose. ANDTHENTHEKICKER! 20% GRATUITYALREADYSLAPPEDONTHEBILLWHETHERYOULIKEITORNOT! And all became clear… The waitress essentially got paid the minute we sat down. There was no reason for her to ensure that our dining experience was worth of a 5 star review, or that we had enough napkins, or that we needed refills or that it wasn’t okay to interrupt us abruptly every time she came by. She had made her 20% and had but not a worry in the world! Let me say that again… 20% GRATUITYAUTOMATICALLYADDED. I DON’T LEAVE A 20% TIPATTHENICESTOFESTABLISHMENTSLETALONESUSHIJOINTSINSTRIPMALLPLAZASNEXTTOPUBLIXINWELLINGTON. This place is highway robbery and if you think the food is good here or it’s good value for the money then we definitely shouldn’t be friends.

After hearing rave reviews I went to Kontiki for lunch. We ordered the spring rolls, Satay chicken and Sushi rolls with the red tuna. We waited a while before the first food came out which we thought was odd because we were the only people in the restaurant but I believe we were the first customers that day. The spring rolls were very crisp and delicious, the Satay chicken was so overdone the edges were like jerky and the tuna roll was fresh but we have had better at other sushi establishments. The service was adequate. We were a little puzzled by the fact that the waitress never asked how our food was. The atmosphere is very lovely, food presentation on what we ordered –nothing fancy. Our bill was $ 55 for lunch two tuna sushi rolls, 2 appetizers, one cucumber salad, no drinks.

Kontiki’s I tried to give it 3 stars, but as always my rating is based on value: price/quality of food/service. And while the food is okay, with some good dishes and some others a bit weak, while the service can be pretty attentive or not(depends on the night), the prices are definitely too high to justify what you get. Now, before I mislead someone, if you are Wellington resident you will probably go here and be fine with that. If you are visiting instead you might want to aware of their prices for tapas and small dishes. Wellington is an affluent town, and a lot of residents have no problem spending money. They like to stay local, which is fine, but that also allows a lot of business owners to have high prices that rarely are in sync with quality/service. Wellington doesn’t have bad restaurants, you just often feel(unless you live there at the Polo or some other big money community so you don’t care) you overpaid. Funny how Kontiki’s actually is very fair with its wine prices per bottles, but anything else… just overpriced. Sushi was hit and miss, and we tried a few of their specialties: they were okay, some tastier than others, but again, it just feels overpriced.

This was our first time here and we will definitely be back! The menu had a great selection that would be able to please almost anyone and the food was phenominal! Sushi was the best we’ve had! Certainly worth checking out!

LOVE this place! Great food, HUGE variety to please everyone. The caesar salad was awesome. I really enjoy their sushi«bombs». The owners are always friendly. Sometimes you have to wait for a table, but it’s well worth it! It’s not cheap, but the portions are enormous so we usually share. A must try!

Dined at the bar, good service was greeted within a few minutes and promptly had a drink in front of me in no time. Enjoyed a spicy tuna roll to start with that was very good, and then had the green beef panang curry for an entrée. Flavor was ok, not much beef in the entrée was the major downside. Aaron, the bartender took good care of me. Lively atmosphere, awesome reef tank they have in the middle of the restaurant and sushi bar.

Love this place. I always get the Baked Brie, Alex Roll, Garlic Clams and grilled squid. This place is consistent with food and service. It can be very busy especially during polo season.

I’ve been wanting to come here for a while and I’m sorry I did! The fantasy was better than the reality! Small tables slow service, some kind of utensil holder on the table which is ridiculous! My pepper shrimp was way to salty! Oh and the décor — a drunk wanna be Asian Art collector! Save your money it’s overpriced and not worth it.

My husband and I had a wonderful lunch here! We had the following: Chicken Curry Tulips– LOVEDTHEM! Caliente Roll– delicious and spicy! Duck Pizza– great flavor combinations and loved the grilled pizza! Massaman Chicken Curry, medium spice– excellent! So as you can see, we loved everything! The sangria was delicious too! Only reason it is 4 stars is because it is a little expensive. We will DEFINITELY go back!

Wow, I’ve eaten here about 3 or 4 times, now its time for a review. Its always busy. The regulars seem to like it. The staff loves talking with their regulars, for extended periods at times, especially on off nights. Lets speak just to this experience. I went in for dinner by myself at the bar. Order a 15 year Macallam, nothing makes a scotch neat any better than having it heated by the coolers behind the bar exhaust fans blowing hot air on it 24 hours a day. Love paying a premium price for a premium scotch that has been heated for months. The sushi roll was very good, but it was a veggie roll and well you can’t really mess that up. As for the Chicken Cordon Bleu, well, its like half cooked chicken in a bowl of milk. I’m being very serious. Of course it took almost 10 minutes to get the bartender to leave his conversation to ask me how my meal was. Sent it back, and it came back like shoe leather, awesome. I did say this was my third time, the other two experiences for service and food didn’t remotely compare to how great today’s service was.
