Service was great, very friendly, attentive waiter and the owner greeted and sat us after introducing himself which was very nice! I had the scallop dish served with risotto(usually I only like my own) but I try it at restaurants if I haven’t made it in a while and it was REALLY good here. The scallops were done perfectly and seasoned really nicely. Aside from the fact that a bunch of items were crossed off on the menu and almost every drink order my friend asked for they didn’t have. we had a good time here. Only complaint really for me was the terrible espresso martini we ordered for dessert. It tasted like bad iced coffee(minus the ice) and not even served in a traditional martini glass. Waiter made it good by bringing us both another drink we had with dinner on the house. Overall not a bad experience but not the best one ever. Will probably try again for brunch when the weather is warmer and we can sit outside.

Terrible. Went here to lunch with the family. We sat at a dirty table and waited 15 minutes for them to clear it out. We ordered cocktails and got one half empty glass and the other in a dirty glass. Went to the bar and asked for a new glass and the bartender got one and poured it in the new one not after spilling most of it out. I just didn’t drink it. Then the food came accompanied by a side of hair. At that point we just got the bill and called it a day. Also, who can’t poor a glass of beer? epic fail

Just came back from sunday brunch at milestone and will definitely not be returning. My friend tried to order a banana and nutella crêpe, but they were out of bananas, and my other friends tried to order potato pancakes, which they had already run out of as well. I ordered a parfait and a honey crêpe, where i was told ten minutes after I ordered that the restaurant was out of yogurt. Instead I had a bowl of fruit and honey crepes. The honey crepes were dry and were drenched in honey, way too much of it. The fruit was fine, certainly fresh and sweet. The service was terrible. The waitress never came to our table to ask how our meal was and our waters were never refilled. They did however take the honey crêpe I ordered off of the bill, because I did not eat it.

I just bought a new car minutes before coming here for lunch with my fiancée and our friends. It was completely empty that should have given me a heads up about how terrible my experience should have been. We were given menus and then no one came up to us for some time. I don’t know if it had to do with a game being on and the bartender one of the cooks and 2 waiters/waitresses watching it. Not sure that the game was the reason why we were forgotten about but I am pretty sure it was. Finally after ordering our food and drinks we waited about 10 minutes for our beer to arrive, which my first 3 choices where taken right out because the tap was broken. I was able to get a Heineken which was slight colder than warm. I ordered nothing special a chicken caesar wrap not rocket science on this plate but somehow took about 30 minutes(again I think the kitchen staff was watching the game). It did not taste great, lettuce was a mushy and there was a lack of caesar dressing and the price did not match the quality. Overall I would say this place needs some very drastic changes to their staff to survive. The place itself looks great but the people are terrible. They are located in a very upscale area where people even from outside town don’t expect anything less than good, and mediocracy might as well be failure. I feel like I could run this place better than whoever is supposably running it now, the floor staff need to all be fired apparently since it seems that I am not the only person to see these issues.

So for lunch on a Saturday, you could take your choice of either the breakfast or the lunch menu — just flip it over to see the alternative, and peruse at your convenience. At noon, there were but 2 parties already seated. As you enter the dining establishment, you find yourself in a long bar area with the bar counter on the right with 10 seats, and 5 elongated booths on the left. Further in, they have additional tables, and past the little hallway on the right with the bathrooms is another entire dining room from whence I could hear the sounds of a happy baby. We were served by a cheerful waitress, and enjoyed our meal. As two ladies with healthy appetites(I hadn’t broken my fast yet that fine morn), we elected to share the following three items from both sides of the menu — Fried Calamari $ 11 — hot peppers and green tomato sauce Caprese Salad $ 9.50 — sliced heirloom tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and basil, extra virgin olive oil, aged balsamic Crabmeat Benedict $ 12 — jumbo lump crab meat with creamed spinach on toasted english muffin, tarragon and hollandaise sauce The calamari were lightly crisp and tender. Assuming that the menu we had been presented with were the same as the one I copied & pasted from online, I’m not sure where this green tomato sauce was, but the marinara we were served did the job just fine. The Caprese salad was a single soft ball of mozz served in the midst of 4 large slices of a not very red tomato. I’m suspicious as to the«heirloom» status of the fruit since at other restaurants when you are served an heirloom tomato dish, you are presented with an array of colors of smaller globes of the fruit. But, it was fine for what it was. The crabmeat benedict tasted quite good, and I enjoyed the soft breakfast potatoes that came alongside, but I hesitate to call the shellfish meat«jumbo lump» as they were but a scattering of small bits of the white meat, and weren’t particularly evident tastewise. The hollandaise was creamy yellow and tasted nice and lemony, but the english muffin(was it really toasted?) quickly became a sodden tasteless mass under it all. I redeemed a certificate, so when the bill with the discount applied was presented to us, our waitress kindly let us know that the tip was included so we wouldn’t erroneously double-tip. The tip had been set at 20%. Street parking is 2 hour metered parking, 25 cents per half hour. Too bad I hadn’t checked their website for parking info for heading out — I would have saved myself a buck… according to Milestone, there is a parking lot on Crest Road(across from Pete’s Coffee) which is free on weekends and holidays. Oh, well — good to know for the future! 3 or 3.5 stars… I’m not sure. I’d come back, but I wouldn’t be in a rush to.

Last night my wife and I wanted to use our gift certificate at Milestone. We made a reservation for 7:15pm on a Friday. By opening the front door I slammed my hand between the door and the wall that the door hits. There is no doorstop, nor sufficient tension from the door to stop this from happening. There was no greeter at the door. The person we sought out that appeared to have something to do with the restaurant may have been a regular. After a waiter seated us, we were given menus to peruse. In the ½ hour that followed, no staff approached our table. One waiter brought drinks to one table of 6, and cleared the plates from a table of 2. We were not offered water, bread, a drink menu, etc. On the way out we looked for a manger/host/owner, and could find nobody. There were three wait staff and one bartender in the restaurant. Despite the mixed reviews, we gave this place a chance. There will not be a second chance.

Terrible service. Ordered a takeout tuna sandwich off peak hours. There were not that many guests after the lunch rush, but the food still took over 30 minutes to come out.

I ate here a couple days ago and while the food was decent, the service was surly and rude. The service issues: no guests greeted when arriving on the outdoor patio(we had to retrieve someone from inside and they weren’t happy about it), no greeting when our server arrived, «whadda ya want?», our order was taken with a grunt and rolled eyes, check was delivered with no thank you’s. It’s not my nature to be petty in Unilocal reviews, and I can overlook minor service issues, but this one guy was so awful that he should be fired. I had a beet salad with yogurt and candied pecans which was good, and my partner’s spanikopita was actually really good. But the server seemed to resent the fact that anyone was eating at the restaurant.

I have mixed feelings about Milestone. In the three years that I have been eating here, I have had hit-or-miss experiences in all of the major ways: food, service, value. The only thing I really, really liked here was their turkey breast sandwich with tarragon mayo, but they stopped serving it at least a year ago. I like their intimate dining booths and round, vaulted ceiling. They have a nice bar and a large television. They’ve always got patrons. I have had problems redeeming Groupons at Milestone in the past. For instance, they valued the Groupon at «up to $X,» but the items on their prix fixe Groupon menu(which I didn’t know we’d have to order from before we got there) couldn’t possibly add up to $X in any available configuration. The reason this truth-in-advertising thing is a big deal is because with Groupon, they tell you the percentage off you are getting, as in 40% off, 50% off, and if your retail value is set higher than it really is, then it looks like a better value than a customer is actually getting. I’m not quite sure what’s up with Milestone. They’ve always had an outside dining area, but nowadays, it’s gated off from the sidewalk in a way that looks more like a fort than an inviting eating space. They removed the giant, beautiful three-dimensional fork from their sign. What direction do they see themselves moving in? Who are their target customers? It’s confusing to me.

I stopped in for a beer tonight, and was surprised to see how neat and clean this place was. It was nice and dimly lit but not to the point where I couldn’t scope out the whole scene. Very cute almost round booths and some tables in the back. I opted for the bar, two nice big tv’s! I guess in Wellesley you need to order some form of food to get served any form of alcohol. I ordered the bruschetta, nice sized portion. Tomatoes can often lack in the winter time but this wasn’t the case, a nice balsamic drizzle, shaved cheese. Yum! Bartender was really friendly, easy enough to talk to. If I ever need to kill 45 mins before an appointment I’ll be back!

We used a groupon for here, and choosing from the groupon-specific menu, we had a good meal. Servers were nice, if a little slow. We had the mussels and spanikopita for apps, house salad, and risotto and salmon dinners. Mussels and spanikopita were delicious, salads ok, and dinners yummy. Chef was nice about swapping out asparagus with spinach(served super tasty, yet super garlicky). With the groupon and 2 glasses of wine, we still ended up spending $ 70(inclusive of the $ 35 for the groupon)(the balance was $ 16 wine — for 2 glasses of wine, 18% mandatory gratuity($ 16), and taxes($ 5)). The meal was good, but not worth $ 70 we paid using the groupon, and would definitely not be worth the non-discounted price. And my usage of parenthesis = their usage of garlic on the spinach — just to give you an idea. Also, there were quite a few(well-behaved) kids at the restaurant. Granted we ate early(5:30), but I wouldn’t take my kids here, just based on price.

This is another place my husband and I found via Groupon. The restaurant was very quiet when we came in, yet they sat us near the door — and the bar where the waitress and who appeared the be the owner were struggling, loudly, with making the Groupon for the table in front of us work. They have a specific menu for Groupon customers. The appetizers, one was a risotto fritter, which was the best part of our meal, left a lot to be desired. Husband had the chicken parm and I had the flat iron steak. Both meals were dry city. The waitress came to clear our dishes and asked how the meat was cooked(I asked for medium-rare, it came out really medium to well done) and when I told her it was overcooked she said, «oh» and shrugged. When we got the bill we ended up paying as much for our drinks and all of the tax that they throw on as we did for the Groupon. We definitely felt like we got taken for a ride, even after they explained it. I am sure we won’t be going back, even if the owner was relatively nice. The food just wasn’t very good and the atmosphere left something to be desired.

I came here for weekend brunch once and it was passable. I tried the corned beef hash with eggs. The hash was a little over-cooked, but the eggs were fine. At least the hash looked like real corned beef and not like kitty food from a can. The service was a little slow. I know, I’m tough on a high-school senior for a waitress, and it’s probably not entirely her fault. But when there’s only one or two other tables occupied in restaurant, I don’t think there should be a problem, right? I think I’ll place blame with the back-of-house.

I am kicking myself for giving Milestone one more chance –if I could give this 0 stars I would. On our first visit, shortly after they opened — service was(not surprisingly) a bit disorganized, and food was uneven — gnocchi were good, but burger was average and fries were chain restaurant variety. However, the menu was interesting, so we wanted this place to be good, and decided to keep trying it. On subsequent visits — service continued to be poor — slow, disorganized, unattentive, and food mediocre. We had concluded on our last visit we probably wouldn’t be back. This morning, craving breakfast out somewhere, Milestone seemed to be the only option(Memorial Day). We reluctantly gave it one more shot. Even with lowered expectations we were shocked at how bad this place is after having had so much time to get its act together. After entering restaurant, we and some other patrons stood in the doorway for well over 5 minutes waiting for a host to greet and seat us. Although menus were provided promptly, it was at least 10 minutes before someone came to take a beverage order. As another reviewer has noticed, the staff seem to pay much more attention to people seated outside. We ordered standard breakfast fare, except my husband made a point of requesting the Italian sausage from the list of side orders. The waitress said, «Sure you want the regular sausage,» «No,» my husband replied, pointing to it on on the menu, «I want the Italian sausage.» I ordered eggs benedict. We overheard our waitress talking to another patron about how busy the place was — huh? We observed that inside at least, the place was about 80% empty. Tables outside might have been full, but there are only a few. It took almost thirty minutes for our food to arrive. My God. I have never seen a more disgusting plate of eggs benedict. They were covered with this pasty, white goo that had the consistency of vanilla pudding — and had no hint of egg, lemon or butter flavor. It tasted like a bland, overthickened béchamel. Nasty. Pushing that off to the side, I dug in and realized that the English muffin wasn’t toasted — white and squishy right out of the bag. Naturally, my husband’s eggs arrived without any sausage. The owner ended up bringing over a plate of breakfast sausage. My husband reiterated his desire for Italian sausage, the owner looked surprised but scurried off to replace them. About 15 minutes later, the Italian sausage arrived, burnt on one side, pink and undercooked on the other. Yechhh. Unless there is a miracle, such as a Gordon Ramsay intervention… When Milestone inevitably closes its doors(we give it 3 months?), we hope something good takes its place. The suburbs need a few more bistro and breakfast options.

Went back for breakfast this morning, and was pleasantly surprised. While lunch and dinner are still having a mild identity crisis(Italian? Greek? Mediterranean?), breakfast is totally leaning toward the Greek. Greek-style omelettes(fillings folded into the eggs and then folded in half instead of egg wrapped around separate filling), and the taters have that greek spice on them — similar to Zoe’s homefries in Cambridge. This makes sense, of course, given that Charlie’s family also owns the Maugus in Wellesley. They’ve done a nice job here of not only giving a traditional. simple breakfast, but also offering some«upscale» dishes that are in keeping with the idea of the dinner and lunch menus. Crab something and smoked something — I honestly can’t remember since I got an omelette. Also: VERY reasonably priced. Since this is the only place for breakfast in this part of Wellesley(Since that abomination of a Rosie’s closed), I predict that this strategic move will pay off — especially on weekends.

We went to «brunch» here this morning(Mother’s Day). Milestone doesn’t actually have a brunch menu, just a breakfast one. I was a little worried that this was not going to be a great experience since we were able to get a last minute reservation for the day. Turns out, I was right. The service was pretty terrible. The hostess didn’t give us menus and we had to flag her down for a waiter. Our food took almost an hour to arrive at the table, and went it finally came it was 1) mostly cold and 2) terribly plated and 3) we had to wait another 5 minutes for the last dish. The two fruit salads were noticeably different(mine was completely lacking in strawberries, the other one had a good half cup of them). The toast was both cold and dry. We had to flag down a waiter to get butter. We ran out of water, and coffee and had to find someone again for refills. The place seemed completely disorganized. My brother overheard one of the staff say that someone hadn’t shown up. When my dad asked what the hold up was after our waitress apologized again, she said, «the kitchen is packed.» The kitchen was probably packed due to the number of dishes we saw get sent back. The place wasn’t even full. Management had better get their act together around the organization and staffing of this place, because it’s not going to last long at this rate.

I just had lunch here and it was great. I got the steak and cheese panini. It was flavorful, delicious, filling, and only $ 8.(Came with either a salad or fries… I got the salad and it was really tasty) The waitstaff was pleasant and attentive with refilling my beverage. It was clean and comfortable. I also liked the décor — it was comfortable and casual but felt a little upscale. It was family friendly, with a kids menu and some families dining with young kids. Prices were great, too. It was nice to have such a yummy lunch for about ten bucks. I’m hoping to go back soon for brunch or dinner.

In search of a brunch place between Westwood and Natick, we randomly found ourselves in Wellesley. Noting the brunch advertised on the sign on the sidewalk, and its positive Unilocal rating, we decided to give Milestone a try. This turned out to be an excellent decision. We were greeted and seated promptly and provided lunch menus, though mysteriously, we had to request menus for the aforementioned brunch. Even then, we received one brunch menu despite there being three of us. After a brief review, I settled on the western omelet, which came with homefries and toast. When our waiter finally returned, we placed our orders, and received our food a short time later. At first glance, the omelet looked spectacular, though the homefries seemed pale and undercooked. The omelet met my initial expectations, being prepared perfectly and stuffed with ample portions of onion, green pepper, and mushroom. The homefries turned out to be deceptively good, their appearance bearing little relation to their flavor; they were tender without being mushy and were delicately, though amply, seasoned. My meal, which I wholly enjoyed, more than made up for the inconsistent service, and the speedy provision of our selections compensated for our waiter’s inattentiveness.

While in the car with my girlfriend and best friend, driving around randomly, in search of a place to have brunch, we randomly spotted Milestone while in Wellesley and saw that they had a brunch menu advertised outside on a chalkboard — The place looked decent and a previous review from another Unilocaler was enough to convince us to step in and give this place a shot. The décor was simple, sleek, and modern with some booths on the left side, and a bar on the right. We were greeted and seated almost immediately and menus were handed to us. Unfortunately, the menus handed to us were lunch menus, something that we weren’t really there for, but when we asked for brunch menus, it arrived with an apologetic, sincere smile from the waiter. Thing is though, he only brought one for some reason but we all shared and after a good glance at the various items, and resisting the urge to order their pancakes, I settled for something a bit healthier: a ham and cheese omelet($ 7), with came served with a side of potatoes and some toast(wheat in my case). The girlfriend ordered a waffle($ 7)with a side of crisp, well done bacon. Along with it, a diet coke and orange juice arrived, and the syrup for the waffle… and a few minutes later, our plates arrived. The omelet was not overcooked, the eggs having just settled and barely runny — it was absolute perfection in my book. The cheese was there but not over present as was the ham. It was all very tasty. The side of potatoes was good as well, they weren’t too oily and the toast was good although I would have loved to have some preserves to spread on it or something else — I had butter instead, it was it brought to us at the table. Service was attentive throughout the meal, checking up on us and ensuring that all went well — He was friendly as well although I did notice that the staff did spend a significant amount of time chit-chatting near the bar, often ignoring everything around them. The prices were more than reasonable and this place hit the spot. The food was on par with what we came in for and we all left rather happy. When in Wellesley, I’d definitely consider going back for another meal, maybe some lunch or dinner as their menu seemed varied enough to be interesting — It has shades of Greek and Italian influences and they even have a bar menu. And best of all, they seem to have a terrace available during the warmer months which would make for a pretty awesome experience on a nice, warm evening.

Really just stumbled into this place and took a leap of faith. It is a really nice place and clean and up class. I went on a weekday and not at a rush time or school session so it was very intimate and relaxed. It looks like it is owned by a family, and can’t say much but i can say it was a good fine. Good food overall.
