The Nutcracker

Probably one of the worst place I have ever eaten. The smell that overwhelms you as you walk in makes you nauseous immediately. Our waitress could not remember our order. She came back 4 times just to double check our drinks. I walked past the salad bar to go use the bathroom and that looked like it is not up to code or taken care of. Very disappointed.

Its a diner– but this diner has cold food, waitresses that really couldnt care less and the prices are on pair with any chain or other local restaurant.
Pass.

This is not one of the better restaurants that I have been to in Webster. They have a big salad bar but they do not properly maintain it. After witnessing the help dump new product on top of old product on several occasions, I decided that I was not going to visit this restaurant anymore. My other past experiences here have included cold food and disgruntled waitresses fighting with the cooks in the kitchen. I do not recommend this place.

The staff is friendly, the food is good, and the prices are reasonable. A lot of food for the money. A nice local diner.

This place is great! Good food with very reasonable prices. You get soup and salad bar with every dinner and the servers are wonderful. I am shocked by the one stars, apparently the one guy just hates the elderly.

This is my favorite spot for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Nutcracker Panini is absolutely my favorite sandwich (I get it without the ham!) Salad bar is great too!

Stopped her on new years day, waitress, cooks, and owner fighting over food not being out and things not getting done. Waiting 45 mins for food awful after waiting no apologies, no offer of money off never again figured id try one more time several customers walked out I should of

We like this place. Staff is always friendly. The soup is fantastic, and the salad bar is good too. We’ve been there a handful of times and always loved the food.

We’ve only gone here for breakfast. It wasn’t bad, basic diner feel and taste. Good, friendly service.

They ripped us off, my buddy John ordered a 2 eggs 2 bacon and 2 pancakes. He got 1,1,1, he thought he was shorted, so he asked the waitress what happened. We were leaving thought they would give a discount but she stuck it to us.

If you like tasteless food, this is the place for you. They have a weekday morning special for $ 2.95 and I feel that I got robbed. What horrible food. I have never had stale toast, let alone it was cold. If I would have hit someone in the head with a slice of it, I probably would have killed them. No matter how much salt I put on the eggs and hash browns I still couldn’t taste them.. I was unable to bite into the bacon, it was so terribly hard. I thought it was made out of lead. I wouldn’t even consider bringing home left overs to the dog, I couldn’t be that mean.
I would also like to apologize to the employees at the Nutcracker, I am terribly sorry for walking into this joint — I didn’t mean to bother you. The restaurant should be called «The Crabapple Inn».

If you are old and senile please go here, otherwise go to Basil. There really aren’t any good restaurants in webster for some reason but this one is awful.
Our waitress was nice, but heated our dessert in a dirty microwave which made it taste like cardboard, and the food reminded me of high school lunch. The food was cheaply made, and you will freeze if you sit by a window.

We tried to go here today. When we walked in, there was one woman waiting for a table ahead of us. There were many, many empty tables, and lots of servers bustling about. No hostess, but the owner was at the hostess stand. We waited. And waited. And waited. Not one of the employees greeted us (or the woman ahead of us) or even, for that matter, met our eye. The owner was completely unconcerned that a line was beginning to form. Nothing. We might as well have been invisible. We waited some more, and some more, and some more, trying in vain to catch someone’s eye to see if they would acknowledge us — even a «Hi folks, someone will be right with you» would’ve been nice — but no one did. We noticed the owner chatting idly with other employees and checking his cell phone, and finally turned around and left, knowing that Maa’s Diner was right up the street and we’d get friendly service and good food there. Sorry, Nutcracker, we wanted to give you a chance.

I’ve gone here many, many times and it’s actually my favorite diner in Webster. The food prices are very reasonable and the quality of the food is quite good too. They’ve recently updated the outside of their building and have new menus too, so if you haven’t been there in a while, I’d recommend you paying it a visit. My favorite meal is the sky burger. I like how it’s served on a quality bun (a lot of diners just put their burgers on the cheapest buns available). As an added bonus, the fries are thicker (steak fries), which I absolutely love!

I ate here and the server was rude! The place wasnt busy. And the server acted like i was a major inconvenience. I will not return.

This was our first visit and with the few reviews (& pretty negative at that) we were a bit hesitant. With few family spot options open after 6pm Sunday in the area we gave them a shot.
Our waitress hustled, got our order right, and even with a steak well done, the food came very quickly. The menu is large and had a something for all our ages & tastes.
One nice thing was the dinner comes with soup & salad bar… And you get your choice of soup (not just on the bar). I might end up addicted to the crab bisque, my wife isn’t as in to spices, so found her lentil soup a bit spicy for her taste. The salad bar is small, but nice for free and the cole slaw & mac salad were very good.
Portions are huge, so we ended up with 3 boxes & too full for dessert. My 8 year old didn’t want me to end without saying his strawberry milkshake was excellent.
They have space and parking for lots of folks, so I bet you’d rarely have trouble getting in.
One nice thing I saw was a waitress handle a food complaint well and the customer seemed happy at the end. I also liked seeing her just hanging, chatting with people (it was getting late/​slow)… And it felt like a real hometown diner. We’ll be back & consider the Nutcracker when the parents are in town.

Do you ever walk into a place of business and just feel like you’re causing them a huge inconvenience just by your mere presence? that’s how i felt when i was here.
–crappy, rude server who seemed to be a real big rush, right off the bat.
–sup par lukewarm soup
–pretty standard sandwich. not bad, not great.
–Decent prices, no complaints there.
I don’t need an ass kissing when i go to a diner, but please at least ACT like you care even the slightest bit.

There’s not much choices at the first thing in the morning around that area. It’s very close to the motel that I stayed. The purveyor used by the diner isn’t the best quality, so the food isn’t the greatest; things tasted a little stale. I went several times before 7am, so I can’t comment about service as it’s two waitresses for three customers. I recently found the Starbucks down the road, so I won’t frequent this as much.

THE WORST EVER!!! Terrible customer service… Extremely rude server. She never checked in on my table, and the hostess didn’t bother to ask how our meal was. On top of all that the food was horrible! I will NEVER go back again. Do yourself a favor and skip this one!
