I tried to add la madeleine to my breakfast outing rotation, but sadly I cannot. I just didn’t like my food. My eggs were rubbery and they didn’t add my requested cheese. The French toast reminded me of a honey bun which I run from whenever possible. My sausage was good, but I left feeling like I was ripped off. My food didn’t leave me planning for my next visit. There is plenty of seating which is nice. I’ll return for lunch, but I don’t plan on ever doing breakfast with them in this lifetime.

Good for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The pastries and other treats are simply delicious(if you like coconut, try the coconut cake it is my fav). They have wine to go with the meal(not sure if they have any beer). The soups and salads are more than enough to fill you up, but they do offer several options — All Good! This was my go to place with the other moms when our kids had a late game or school function. Its also a great place to read a book and relax, because it is a the perfect place to sit and drink a cup of coffee. The nice extra is they provide free bread with a butter and jam to go with that cup of joe. Although this is a chain, it’s still good. I would recommend and I will return.

We visited around 2−3pm on a Saturday to a still busy restaurant. It’s my first time so I didn’t know if we were to be seated or the other way. Right at the entrance, you are a greeted by a glasscase of patisserie and bread. This place is small and there’s a short distance between the door to the order line so it got kind of clogged up. It didn’t help that the café was sort of a cafeteria style. Anyway, the service was courteous. I had the tuna salad sandwich in a croissant. The bread was nice and flaky… overly buttery, but I guess that’s how croissants are supposed to be? It came with a sad one piece lettuce. C’est la vie. I do like the free bread, butter and jam on the side! Bottomline, I liked the flavor of the tuna salad – wasn’t dry – and the croissant, considering I don’t eat croissants, was also alright. I’ll put La Madeleine at the back of my head of places I’ll go back to… unless I forgot completely.

Very packed but always fun to go to for brunch. The traffic there is probably the worst part about this, but once inside and you have ordered your meal you are good to go. The hardest part is of course the decision because of the awesome menu. This is a small and casual place, for the day activities.

This place is definitely worth the trip! The atmosphere is great and the food is so yummy!!! I love the crepes here. They are not too sweet, the sauce is nice and creamy and the strawberries are so fresh! The crust on the quiche is nice and flaky and the chicken is moist and seasoned well. I love coming here for my date night with my boyfriend. We both love the food here. They have the desserts on display and they always look so delicious!

I love la Madeleine!!! Just get a cup of the tomato basil soup. Don’t ask questions, just get it and enjoy! I tried their new Spicy Basque Country Pasta thing that they have right now. I really want to like their pasta, but I always feel that most of their pasta dishes are missing something. Their salads are always fresh! Potato gallete is really good if you want a little something. It’s like hash browns with some shit in it. Chicken Caesar sandwich. You guys. It’s great! It comes out on a sourdough roll which at a glance is smaller than expected. It is very filling so don’t let the size fool you. You will leave full. Strawberries romanoff is a great addition to any meal. You can count it as your dessert if you’re trying to be good. It is strawberries with a brandy white sauce that you will end up wanting to lick out of the container. I am not judging. The have a large variety of pastries to choose from. My personal favorite is the mini lemon tart! Make sure you say mini or they give you the regular lemon tart, that is huge! The lemon Madeleines are really good! I also enjoy the almond croissant, muah! They offer coffee to go along with dessert, I don’t think the coffee is anything special, not worth the price but love having coffee with dessert!

The food here is delicious and generally consistent. There are so many good choices like the Turkey and Provolone Sandwich, Spinach salad, Chicken la Madeline, Pasta la Madeline and they have great breakfast all day. LaMadeline also offers decent marked calorie choices if your counting calories so that’s nice. This particular location is a bit cramped, ordering can take some time, be disorganized and the tables are very close together but the foods is very good so it’s keeps us coming back.

The manager sent one of her employees to tell my fiancé he was at all glass of water, so unprofessional and never going back! So disrespectful

I didn’t realize this place was so popular! We waited in a huge line before ordering. I was confused because although we put in our order at the start we had to repeat our order to at least three more people in the line. Seems unnecessary. After we got our food we then had to wait in a line to get our drinks and silverware. Then the ultimate challenge– getting to our seat. The tables and chairs are so close at this restaraunt I had to try multiple routes to get through the maze without dropping my tray! Even after being seated I was so close to the person next to me that when they held their baby it was literally less than a foot from my head as it cried. Unnecessary. The restaraunt is packed, and extremely loud. The food is good though. The mushroom soup was a treat. The Caesar salad was good– although midway through I found a huge lettuce butt. What on earth? Why is this stub in my salad? Then as I moved on to my sandwich what do I know but I have a tomato butt! Listen, the toppings on the sandwich are so minimal I’m pretty sure it shouldn’t go without notice that you’re putting a tomato butt on there. Since I had barely any other tomato I ripped off the bad part and kept eating. The picture shows what I picked off my food. My meal was small enough that I shouldn’t have had this much trash in it. The flavor is good but why do I need to inspect it so closely? The chicken salad was very good and the croissant was fresh. All in all I liked the food here and I will be back. However I wouldn’t come here and expect a good conversation-it’s too loud and everyone would hear!

Chicken Friand is AMAZING! After a long of car shopping(see my reviews to feel my pain) this hit the spot. it is perfect crispy, creamy goodness! My mom got the pick 2, sandwich and salad and that was super fresh! Service was great no hidden costs… lol They also took my money unlike the car dealer I dealt with! I cant wait to go back!

I loved the French onion soup and the chicken ceasar salad ! Plus they have one of the best French roast coffee. Also the ambience of this place is authentic French. Makes you feel like you really are there

Quel dommage! We could really use a good French restaurant in Clear Lake. La Madeline is typically a decent chain or used to be. But the Bay Area location can’t seem to get it right. Maybe the silverware is all dirty. Or If the silverware is clean, the coffee is cold. If the coffee is hot AND you have a clean spoon to stir it with, your toasted sandwich is raw. Or half of your order is wrong and then, when they come back with that part corrected, the stuff they had right in the first place is cold. Or someone at your table is completely forgotten and has to go up and remind the cashier of their existence. The bakery itself is good. That’s what the stars are for.

We all know that La Madeleine serves the same food at all locations. I like it fine. The only reason i single this one out is because of red peppers in the spinach salad. I hate any bell pepper. Red, green, yellow and any other color variety. I’m not the person that makes a big deal. I make a valiant effort to pick them out. I am pretty good at picking at my food. A skill I’ve honed since childhood. It was quite a challenge today since this is the only location I’ve visited to mince the red peppers.

I came here for breakfast while visiting family and the experience/food was horrible! Searching for a healthy option, I ordered the oatmeal and with strawberries and blueberries and a coffee. The oatmeal was clumpy, dry and cold. I was also told they didn’t have any nonfat milk for the coffee(when they have always had it previously) and I’d have to use half and half. The staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. Sad for being one of my favorite places in the past.

Is La Madeleine like going to a little bistro in France? I have no clue because I have never been to France(although I did take 2 years of French in High School)! What I do know is that this place serves up a pretty decent breakfast(no, it’s not as good as what I can make at home, but if you call me the day before, I’ll charge you $ 10 to come and eat at my house). I always order the custom omelette with egg whites, spinach, mushrooms and tomatoes. For whatever reason, they always seem to overcook the omelette … not sure why. This comes with a croissant, too, so you can get your carb coma started. Le Monsieur(that’s French for mister and I’m referring to my old man) and I always split the strawberries romanoff, which is strawberries and a brandy cream sauce … Oui oui c’est une très bonne! I love the fireplace, especially on a cold day(like today), but the tables around it are always taken. I think if they would stop overcooking my omelette, they could earn that coveted 4th star. Oui oui!

I’ve been going to this La Madeleine since I was a teenager. SO long ago… Honestly, I feel like all La Madeleines have gone downhill in the past 5+ years. They just don’t seem as nice as they used to. Or maybe it’s me. In any event, I still love the food at La Madeleine — breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert — they’re all good! Some of my favorite items include: The French Breakfast Scones Muffins Cookies Tarts Turkey, apple, and brie sandwich Tomato Basil Soup Peppery Chips Chicken La Madeleine French Coffee Blackberry Jam This location is as decent as any other.

Given the nature of my review the wife and I made a deal. She chose the star rating and I’m writing the review. I’m surprised. I expected her to rate them higher. Three stars would have been my rating too. We went this morning for their omelet. It was OK but nothing to write friends about. This is a women’s place. It’s largely frequented by women, men hustling women, woman whipped men & gays. [I called them something different than ’”woman whipped” the first time and Unilocal threw out my review, so I’m trying again.] If you don’t believe this, look around when you’re there or check who writes most of the reviews. My wife comes here M U C H more often than I and when I come I always come with her. This place probably holds the prize for pastries that look great but don’t taste as good as they look. I do like the Quiche Lorraine [I know, real men don’t eat quiche] and their strawberry Napoleon but that’s about it. She likes the lemon tart. ___ We’ve Eaten Out Every Meal for 25 years

I love the concept of this place hence I’ve never stepped into a French bakery before or been to France. They have good desserts not sure if they are authentic to the taste of French desserts. The place looks like an old wooden pub and it was a bit messy when me and my friend was there. I will have to visit more to experience it more
