Yellow House

This place exceeded my expectations in every way. Shawn, the host, has been amazing, accommodating our every need. We have been fed delicious food each morning and offered snacks each evening. There is always port wine for sipping as well. We were made to feel at home from the moment we walked through the front door. Our room was immaculately clean. Spending time on the porch sipping sangria with my boyfriend each evening while admiring the natural beauty of our surroundings had been absolute paradise. You must plan a visit here.

Great stay! We showed up last minute. They were very accommodating. Woke up to a beautiful view sitting outside on the upstairs balcony with coffee and a blanket. Breakfast was yummy. I imagine if we had stayed more nights we would’ve experienced even more good breakfast. My only complaint and it’s a small one was the very noisy bed. I get it. It’s old but every move I felt the neighbors downstairs could hear. With that said, I would most definitely stay there again.

We stayed in a two-​story suite in the pond house, and loved every minute of it — the suite boasted fireplaces on both floors, was ridiculously spacious, and proved to be well-​appointed in every way. Migrating ducks (I say buffleheads, but my otherwise loving wife is skeptical) paddled contentedly on the small but picturesque pond. The innkeeper, Shawn, and his staff were highly competent and genuinely friendly, going the extra mile to ensure a wonderful getaway. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and our vegetarian diet was cheerfully accommodated. Snacks are available ²⁴⁄₇. Refrigerators are stocked with complimentary beverages. Many other happy surprises await you at the Yellow House, and you owe it to yourself to experience them.

Great B&B. Quaint Inn. Staff great. 5 acres to explore. Can’t wait to return!

Warm and wonderful place to stay! Beautiful rooms, lovely house, spectacular food and hospitality like none other! Shawn and his staff make the experience a getaway to remember. This is our favorite place, without question.

Can we stay forever?
The Yellow House is many things; picturesque, relaxing, homey, comfortable. Shawn (the innkeeper) is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. When we arrived to check-​in, he greeted us at the door, offered us caramels and gave us the grand tour. (Please see all 50+ pictures I added on Unilocal.Jeez).
If you want a little wine and cheese at 5p, before heading out for dinner — it’s there. If you want amazing, fresh, homemade cookies at any time of day — no problem. Want breakfast in bed? You got it. Need a spot of port before you head to bed? Sure, why not! It’s safe to say that we tried ALL of these things, and enjoyed our stay at The Yellow House more than I can probably make clear in this review.
You are invited to treat The Yellow House as if it were your own home (though I’m sure Shawn doesn’t want to know how we treat our own home). You can help yourself to tea or coffee or whatever beverages you wish from your room’s mini-​fridge. There are suites available, but we stayed in the Carolina Room — totally charming. Our room had a fireplace, windows that overlooked the beautiful greenery surrounding the house itself, lush bathrobes, fantastic pillows, yummy-​smelling lemony shampoo!
You can borrow the portable DVD player from downstairs, or check your email on the laptop. Maybe you want to grab a book from the library, or pick from the plethora of board games. Or maybe you don’t want to do anything at all! One afternoon, Jay and I just sat in the rocking chairs on the front porch and read. It was seriously the most perfect afternoon I’ve had in a very long time.
And the breakfast — oh the breakfast! The staff is phenomenal and whipped up sinful treats for our eating pleasure. The first morning, I woke up to the smell of Peach French Toast baking in the oven. It was served with coffee, sausage and juice. Oh, and can’t forget the beautiful martini glass filled with melon and sweet, whipped cream before breakfast was actually served. They even gave everyone the recipe for the french toast so that you can replicate it at home! The next morning, first we had orange slices and blueberries, tossed with cinnamon and served with whipped cream. This was followed by delicious quiche, loaded with cheese, ham and spinach. *Drool*
Jay and I were only there for 2 nights, but I feel a little physically sad that I can’t go home to the Carolina Room and enjoyed magical quiche every day of my life.

If you have never stayed at a bed and breakfast before this place will set the bar extremely high. Free wifi at speeds around 11mbps enough to stream videos from netflix. Free wine for an hour and the food is sublime You can choose to have breakfast delivered to your room and I highly recommend it so you can quickly jump into the jacuzzi before a mountain hike or shopping.
