Came here the other night with my wife. I had a Texas campfire burger and my wife had the chicken fajita platter. The food was very good and the service was excellent. The staff was also very friendly which is a huge plus. I’ve been here a couple of times already and every visit has been excellent. I highly recommend this diner to anyone. Will be coming here again.

3 stars cause the Greek omelette was good. The home fries it came with were nothing but flavorless mush with one or two tiny pieces of pepper. Not impressed with this diner. No reason to come back.

Your run-of-the-mill Jersey diner with a HUGE menu!!! I am used to the over-abundance Jersey diner menu, and this one was no different. My wife and I took in this diner after leaving one of our usual ones. After about 20 minutes, I finally chose the Philly Cheese Steak Wrap, with fries. Philly Cheese was very yummy, filled with real steak(not steak’ums… which are delish, but not at at diner…), onions, peppers and mushrooms… Served with fries, slaw, and pickle. The fries were very good… But the portion size was awful(see pic, and I didn’t take any yet). I felt like I got a child’s size portion… So next time, I’ll say something. Slaw was good as well. Why the 3 stars? Well, I’ve had better and worse diner experiences… This one was average and nothing to get all excited about. Food, good. portion size, not so good. Service, on par. Prices, good. Would I return? Yes… But the Pompton Queen is still my wife and I’s go to diner…

I love this Diner!!! I frequent this joint at least once a week, whether it’s with my family or colleagues. I’ve been coming here for the last 15 years and my visits have been pleasantly consistent. Their lunch specials are amazing! you get a drink, a choice of their variety of soups and entrée for around $ 12 to $ 13 with tax and tip. And the food is always fresh and tasty. Their Thursday split pea soup is the best and the creamy soups on Wednesdays are terrific as well, oh and can’t forget my 6 yr old son’s favorite, which is the cream of turkey on Sundays. Service is always on point and the wait staff is nice and friendly most of the time.

Usually a breakfast guy but everything else has been good too. The chef salad was great. The campfire burger is excellent. One of the better diners in the area for sure.

I used to come here a lot when I was in high school but had found another joint closer to me to frequent. Came back here again the other night and ordered the eggplant parm sandwich. No. It was so gross. Their eggplant was obviously frozen and thawed out. Just… ugh

Great staff & friendly service. I’m not a huge fan of diner food but they served it up well. I had the buffalo chicken wrap which was yummy. My other table members were happy with their choices. Only 3 stars because I only went here once and i want to go again to see if they are consistently delivering good food in the future. So far a typical jersey diner with a huge menu selection and accommodating wait staff.

I have dined here since it was the Palace diner many moons ago. Food is always great but lately they are sitting people on top of each other when its not busy. Plenty of space, use it.

I am very disappointed. Me and my boyfriend wanted to get crepes tonight so we decided to stay local and come to this diner. I am usually never one to complain but it was just horrible. They charge you so much for a crêpe and put barley any Nutella on it. I specifically asked the waitress to make sure they have Nutella on them and we still got barley any. I was fine and just shook it off. I did not want to make a scene over Nutella. The waitress was very nice and told us she would get a manager. I just figured since we showed her how little Nutella we got that maybe they would bring us out a little more. It shocked me to see the owner talking about us two feet away. I watched him say«what do you want me to do about it» which made me feel very uncomfortable. Very rude and he did not even apologize or acknowledge us. It’s sad to say that it all ended over an overpriced crêpe with no Nutella, but I will NEVER go back.

The food and service seem okay. But the place could use a little cleaning and better lighting.

I was really disappointed that last time I ate here about two weeks ago. They used to have sweet potato fries that were fresh not frozen or like the fast food restaurant type fries. The omelet I usually get was decent, but the disappointment from the change in those fries makes me not want to go back. I’ll have to go again and ask them why they changed one of my favorite foods.

first time there. food was good, our waitress was good and attentive but the only thing I can complain about is I heard the waitresses talking about each other literally in my ear. when I go out, I’d rather not hear«she’s no help» «she’s in my way» and so on…

I’ve been here probably at least 100 times & find it to be consistently good. The owners are typically friendly & treat me like family. The prices are mostly reasonable. The dinners, salads, sandwiches & appetizers are friendly. They seem to have a lot of regular customers too. I recommend this as a good diner choice especially in an area with so many diners to choose from. I’ve had Ricky as my waiter many times & he’s very attentive. He notices when my water is empty, offers an alternative if I’m not happy with my dinner & is generally interested in providing good service. I’ll be back… regularly!

If I could give this dump zero stars I would but it doesn’t let me so one will suffice. Of their giant menu I’m going to say 80% of it can not be cooked properly by their cooks. It’s always greasy and never cooked right. I asked for a burger rare it comes out well done. I mean come on. How does a diner in jersey get a burger wrong. Pasta is always all stuck together and it doesn’t matter what kind of sauce you order cause they all taste the same. Ordered a small house salad. It came with salami and cheese it was 7.99. Are you kidding me. It’s a side salad. Chicken is always way over cooked and dry as a bone. There are maybe a few servers that are friendly and pleasant. Most have pusses on their faces and it seems you are bothering them when you ask for something. All I will say about the giant rude smelly guy that’s works the register is next time someone makes a comment about an item or price don’t answer them with – well you should have read the menu – also wipe your hands and mouth before ringing a person up. I don’t like grease on my credit card and don’t need to look at it dripping down your chin neither. You have been warned – stay away. The place is old and dirty and the food sucks. Drive up to pompton plains and go to the pompton Queen diner. That’s the best one around.

This was my first ever visit to Wayne Hills Diner. It was 1pm on a Saturday. I parked at the sign which stated parking only for Palace Diner patrons, it’s former name from decades ago. Earlier, I had stopped at the Suburban Diner in Paramus and couldn’t even get through the door. This was was less chaotic. Christine was pleasant and helpful. I ate my manicotti parmigiana and Black Forest cake while watching CNN and Mets spring training baseball and listening to modern pop hits.

New Jersey is the diner capital of the world, and Wayne Hills is on my map! We are surrounded with tons of diners in a 5 mile radius, but Wayne Hills is my go-to diner because we have never been disappointed. The food is always top notch — no matter what we’ve had. I’ve been there so many times and have had everything from breakfast to sandwiches to dinner entrees(at all hours of the night and day) — The service is your typical diner wait staff — they get the point across and are always ‘gruffly friendly’ — which is what you should expect! But if you have any issues or need something, they are there to rectify it in the blink of an eye. Just go to Wayne Hills diner, eat, tip, and enjoy! You won’t be sorry with whatever you decided to order — everything is fantastic, cooked to order, and fresh & tasty!(PS — they have a full bar! Did somebody say Sunday Bloody Marys??)

I am a regular of this diner and I have to say not once have they disappointed me. I live in wayne and this is my go to place to grab a bite and actually get a full size meal that taste really good. The prices are very reasonable considering how much food your getting(thats why i love diners). I love that when i walk in they greet me by my first name and seat me right away. the staff is very nice and friendly with the customers and if i ever have a problem they will always accommodate me. the atmosphere is great and relaxing while i sit there and watch tv while i enjoy my meal. of course iv been to other diners and restaurants in wayne which are also great but when it comes down to it the wayne hills diner is my number one choice. combined with they great service, clean and relaxing environment, and of course amazing food i would highly recommend this diner. you wont be disappointed.

Food was average diner food and can’t complain about portion size — pretty reasonable for the price. Service was ridiculously horrible. The waitress we had offended the mother and child in our party so badly that she almost cried at the table. She actually asked the 8 year old girl if she had«heard of q-tips» because she needed«to clean her ears out» so she could hear her. What if that child had a hearing problem? She then also told me that I didn’t look like I was old enough to be a «sloppy senior» when I asked for more napkins but that she would get them anyway. She was not pleasant at all and when the owner asked how everything was I said we had some service issues and before I could elaborate he said«Thanks have a nice day». Perhaps the other servers are great but we weren’t that lucky. Best of luck in your dining experiences.

This place always is my solid«Plan B» diner or my «late night» diner or the«I don’t feel like traveling very far, let’s go to the diner» diner or «It’s a blizzard outside, I don’t feel like cooking(do I ever), and this is the only place open» diner. Okay, enough with the jokes. Wayne Hills diner is a regular diner; nothing fancy, but you’re guaranteed a solid meal. I never ever had one complaint with my meal and I’ve never had to wait more than a couple minutes for a table. Sure the restaurant hasn’t been renovated in a while, but the restaurants in good shape, and I feel and if they renovated it would just be like all the other diners in the area. The sandwiches are always a solid choice here and they make the best Greek wrap I ever had. Plus, all their wraps give you the choice of fries or rice; and their rice is banging! Breakfast is always great here! I’ve had their French toast countless times and their omelets are great too! While I may not come here that often, I always leave this place as an option.

We used to be regulars — I mean EVERY Saturday evening. It was our go-to place. But we gradually saw the food decline to mediocrity. As for the food, it was no longer consistent. The presentation never seemed to be the same, whether you ordered the pork chops or the chicken caesar salad. I once made the mistake of ordering leg of lamb. When a bland, gray-ish serving of meat was presented to me, covered by an even more bland sauce, I realized that neither the kitchen nor my server were dedicated to good food. Other dishes had become equally disappointing. The one bright spot was the small, but well stocked bar, and their ability to provide a nice selection of cocktails and beers.
