I booked my bridal party and mom to have their hair done for my wedding here do NOT go to this salon if you are having a wedding. They turned my mother(THEMOTHER of the BRIDE) away and told her that because the stylist didn’t look at her schedule or come in on time they didn’t have time to do her hair. They made my mother cry and then had a shampoo girl curl her hair and actually had the balls to charge her for not even doing her hair. They were rude and completely unprofessional. What kind of business are you running exactly? I am disgusted with this salon and will NEVER recommend or return ever.

I went here with some of the other bridesmaids and my mom to have our hair done for my sister’s wedding. Upon arriving, three of us were started right away. My sister(other sister, not the bride) and my mom waited a bit before my sister was taken over to a chair. After my hair was finished, I learned that my mom had been told there was no one to do her hair because the girl she was booked with never looked at the schedule to see she had another appointment(my mom) was added for that morning and therefore was late and had no time for her. The girl at the desk was very rude to her and told her there was nothing she could do, it wasn’t her fault, and no one was able to do anything for her. Seriously? Worried that she was going to leave with nothing done to her VERY short hair, she started crying and was very upset. At this point, I went to the desk and asked if there was ANYTHING at all that could be done for her because if not she would be showing up at her daughter’s wedding with her hair not done. FINALLY they attempted to do something for her and got a «tech» to start curling her hair until the other stylist took over. Then she was expected to pay the astronomical price of $ 78 for styling of hair slightly longer than a pixie. I’m totally fine with that price for my long hair, or the MOHs very thick hair that got a full updo… But at baseline, that’s too much for hair so short. Not to mention everything that happened and the terrible service. I asked the other, nicer(brunette) receptionist to make it right and comp the ‘do but the best the owner could do is 50% off. I’m not one to ask for things like this, but if your company messes up and is 100% at fault, does nothing to try and make it right until there are tears, at least be decent enough to eat the cost and learn from your mistake. Wedding or not, I would never patronize this establishment ever again for the way they handled things with my mom. Customer service is clearly not important to them at all.

Only starting going here because i was given a gift certificate for $ 200. Thinking this would be good for a few visits, scheduled my first appointment w/owner not realizing their steep prices for a senior stylist, it was basically sucked up in one visit. Went back a few times after but scheduled with stylists on the lower price end. All did an ok job, nothing spectacular, was close to where I worked at the time so was convenient. Decided to get some highlights w/the senior colorist, was willing to pay more for that because color done right is more important to me so I wanted someone well experienced. I always leave w/a wet head after highlights feeling my hair has been thru enough stress & the heat of the dryer at that time will only add to it. They also aren’t the most gentle when they do it, tugging & pulling you can feel your hair being ripped from the root & getting tangled in the brush, so after getting platinum highlights with the hair cuticle still open from the bleach it would have felt like my hair was going thru a nutra bullet. Immediately after i noticed pieces of hair on my clothing, which is not that unusual, but after leaving, it was a abundantly more than I’ve ever experienced before. With in a day the breakage was so noticable, i literally had a mini mohawk on the top of my head, as well as having a whole new layer of hair that was only 2 inches long from the severe breakage. This place is so full of themselves, for what reason I don’t know, you can get a same or even better cut elsewhere for far less money and be treated so much better. They tend to look down on people if you’re not a rich Wayne resident. You can feel the judgement. I thought maybe it was a one-time thing, thinking someone was having a bad day, but it wasn’t, felt it each time of the few i was there. You’re a customer, you should be appreciated each n every time your there, especially for what you’re paying. How you look, what wear and how much gold is dripping off of you shouldn’t matter.

Ridiculously expensive for just a wash and cut… 60 bucks?! get outta here!! I’ll go to super cuts for $ 15!thanks but no thanks… Also I am seeing a lot of complaints regarding the front desk; totally accurate. She was rude and acted as if 60 for a wash and cut wasn’t expensive… will not be going here.

Used to love this place for a guys cut but after hearing them doubling the price for a cut AND not telling me until I arrived for my appointment I certainly won’t be back.

The staff is warm, inviting and personable. Linda, the owner, is compassionate in her work and an amazing artist who truly demonstrates this to her entire staff. This was truly evident in the emphasis to every detail Alicia exhibited with my cut, color and highlights. I am thrilled with the results and my new look.

I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. Here are my reasons why: 1. Asked for balayage highlights and got generic highlights = waste of my money 2. If you book a blowdry bar appointment it is $ 40, not the $ 30 that they advertise AND they don’t tell you ahead of time about this price change. They certainly don’t do it in 30 min either. 3. The stylists are skimpy with hair products. My hair clearly needed mousse but she didn’t put anything in my hair before styling it. Thus, my $ 40 blow dry style came out the second I left the shop. 4. These stylists way of blow drying hair is unhealthy for your hair. They basically rip your hair out with their brushes and they burn your hair with using the highest heat setting. IFYOULOVEANDCHERISHYOURLOCKS and YOURWALLET, GOELSEWHERE!!!

When I found out that I need surgery, with little lead time, I called PI for a color and cut, knowing it might be some time before I’d get back there. Linda P. went out of her way to accommodate me. Every one was upbeat and supportive of the surgery to come. Two days later I had surgery and was in a hospital bed for 7 days. The response of everyone who came to visit varied, but one common thread stood out: «Your hair looks great!» This with no wash, blow dry, or even a brush for seven days! Thanks Linda — and hope to see you soon.

I have been going to Jen for 8 years now and I love her. She and Ariana are the only 2 people I will go to for my hair. They always give a consult before — ask what I have in mind, give their suggestions, etc. I have a pretty low maintenance hair routine and Jen and Ariana always do a great job in cutting my hair so it looks good without needing too much styling. I also always get compliments on my highlights(ombré). These two are geniuses in everything from cuts to highlights to special event styles. This place lost one star because of the high prices(but you get what you pay for) and the sometimes rude service from the front desk. But overall, would highly recommend to someone looking for a good quality hair treatment and a personal experience with a stylist.

Ariana is a genius. She can literally seem to take an image of what I want my hair to look like from my head and make it appear. I’m nuts with letting my hair grow and she always trims just enough, but where I won’t notice much of a difference afterwards. I always get compliments on my color(ombré) and cuts, and wouldn’t recommend people go anywhere other than her. {NEW} I’m updating to 5-stars. I previously posted 4, because I thought the girl at the front desk was rude and unprofessional. I’m happy to say that at my last visit, the front desk ladies were very kind and helpful! People may give less stars for the price, but here you certainly get what you pay for — and when it comes to your hair, it’s well worth the price.

I have been a client of Linda’s(the owner) since the day Public Image Ltd, The Salon opened. Linda is a complete professional, has incredible knowledge of the industry, and provides nothing but top notch service to her clients, and treats her employees with the same respect she gives her clients & customers. Steve(owner, as well) does an amazing job of keeping the clients happy and satisfied with promotions, events, rewards, and great marketing, keeping clients up-to-date on everything available to them to make their lives & experience while at the salon happy. This dynamic duo is what keeps me and many others happy to walk through their doors time after time. They keep the clients in mind and always puts them first. I have received nothing but beautiful services from this full service salon and would never think of going anywhere else. I get compliments on my hair constantly and am proud to say«I get my hair done at Public Image». I recommend it all the time and many of my friends and family are now clients of Public Image. I highly recommend PIL for cuts, highlights, GK straightening treatments, facials, waxing, up-do’s, blowouts, and color… and their barber shop is a great addition for men. The stylists & colorists are all well-trained and very professional. You’d be crazy to go anywhere else. Love this place!!! «Try it… you’ll like it»…I PROMISE!

I’ve been a client here for years and I’m very happy w my hair… always have been. So why only 2 stars? The female owner is absolutely miserable. Knows nothing about treating the clients respectfully and thinks she is above the rest of the world. With a snide attitude and a lack of customer service it is truly sad… the team is full of talented professionals. Too bad management gives this place such a bad rep.

I’ve been eyeing this salon since my gym is nearby. Really nice looking salon and so I gave it a shot and happy that I did. My stylist understood what I wanted and my hair looked fabulous. The only negative comment I have is for the reception area — total chaos. They have two young girls that were more concern about ordering their lunch and confused about which bill belong to who and the phone just kept ringing and ringing. Also next door is their mens salon — macho, Ed Hardy inspired barber shop. I happened to walk through there by mistake and had to work my way through a bunch of rude/roudy jersey shore looking characters.

Had my hair done by Danilela because I was told she did an excellent job at Ombré. I am happy with the way that it turned out. I have thick hair and they used plenty of bleach and toner to make sure that everything was covered. Some places tend to cheap out and use only one bottle on my head causing it to be splotchy and uneven. PIL they used two bottles and then left the deep conditioner on my hair to make sure they got all the knots out. A little on the pricey side but worth it. I’ll definitely be back.

Was here back in June I have been ere twice before never had a problem and Ariana is awesome at cutting my hair, knowing what exactly to do. This time I was here i unlocked a free product(thanks Unilocal!) but when i went to the register with it, the girl behind the counter started to argue with me that it was not a Unilocal but Facebook even though I showed her so after about two minutes of «ughs» and an attitude and back and forth with another worker she gave me a misley sample packet, really? Not really professional and if you are that concerned about giving away a sample packet that is better used for someone with a pixie haircut, don’t offer it.

I did get a good haircut. Ariana spoke to me prior to the cut to discuss options and guidance which i really appreciated. My problem came with the front desk. They were clueless and paid no attention. It came across they were more concerned about their shoes then checking me out properly. I was asked three times who I was and what i had done. Also, they had to ring me up twice because they didn’t see the products I put on the counter right in front of their face. Barely any eye contact and was trying to give me my change while looking out the window. I finally had to grab her hand to stop her from waving it aimlessly. This proves… the product or service can be top notch, but how it’s delivered makes a big impression.

as an update, i got my hair colored here. they do it uniquely. not saying it is the best, but it is unique. your sylist arranges with u what you will get done… then you go the back where you sit at round glass tables with other women with tv on and the assistant applies the color… the color is applied via a big tube with a brush at the end… if u wnat highlites, your stylist does this and she uses a plastic board to get right up at the tip of ur scalp… then she leaves and checks u and the assistant does the rest… the have coffee and cookies for their clients… for single with half head of highlights ran around 200.00…u can go under the blow dryer for free or pay for a blow dry. most of the women left with hair wet as did i… my color came out great despite my worry that the lighting seemed a bit low… again, it is a nice salon for a NJ salon… i am a NY snob. it was very very busy yesterday after the snowstorm… letz see next tiime i go…
