The Goddard School

I moved to Waxhaw from CA and was nervous about putting my little guy in daycare. I picked Goddard School because it was close to our house and on my husbands way to work. We couldn’t be happier! I am a teacher and love the detailed reports I get each day. I love the curriculum and how it is broken down. I love the staff! His newest teacher speaks Dutch and my husband is from The Netherlands so he gets to hear Dutch from someone other than just my husband. All his teachers have been amazing (and have helped mommy with transitions to new rooms) and the director Lisa F is awesome. I (clearly) don’t handle change well and when there was a transition from Lisa R.(who was also amazing) to Lisa F. I was nervous, but from day one she has been helpful, supportive, and loving (my little one has to wave goodbye to her everyday, even if she’s busy). Any concern I have ever had (which is probably too many — first time mom…) has been addressed immediately. I have been known to call if my little guy didn’t sleep well at night. Lisa always offers to keep an eye on him and when I arrive to pick him up she gives me a report about his day. I know my little guy is being taken care of and learning new things. If you’re looking for a good daycare — Goddard Waxhaw is a great place!

Being recent transplants from a small town in NJ, I was completely overwhelmed with the different types of childcare/​preschool/​pre-​K options Waxhaw and the surrounding communities had to offer. I spent countless hours investigating all of the options and narrowed it down to four 5 star schools I thought would be best. After visiting all of the schools, The Goddard School was hands down, the best choice for us. We were greeted by friendly administrators upon entering and took a tour. The rooms were immaculate to say the least and I was really impressed by the teachers’ interactions with the children. When we had visited other schools, there was no real interaction going on; most of the children wandered around doing their own thing. At the Goddard School, however, there is a tried and true curriculum that the teachers follow and I believe strongly that this has led to tremendous growth of my three year old son. He comes home singing songs and engages my husband and me over dinner about all of the fun things he and his friends did at school that day (i.e. playing outside, «making food» in the restaurant, crafts, story-​time). It has truly been amazing to see him flourish over the past few months and I look forward to his continued growth. If you are new to the area and are as overwhelmed as we were with schools, I would definitely recommend this school for your little ones… you will not be disappointed!

Our daughter attends the Goddard school for pre-​k and we love it! The school is clean and new; the teachers and staff are always friendly and helpful. We are happy we made the choice to send our daughter here!

The Goddard School in Waxhaw is a wonderful place for children. My son has attended this school since he was a little over a year old. The staff has always been really friendly and approachable. At the end of each day, I always receive a daily activity report detailing what he learned that day as well as a description of a memorable moment he shared with a classmate or teacher. I feel very comfortable having him in this great learning environment!
