Dairy Queen of Waves

I’ve been to this DQ several times during my trips down to OBX and I’ve always had a pleasing experience.
The soft serve is good and I’ve tried a few other ice creams and blizzards as well and enjoyed them all.
The staff is very courteous and one time I met the owner (I believe his name was Brad or Brett) and he really took great care of me. Definitely ask for him if he’s around, he was very cool and has lived down there since he was born so he has plenty of local knowledge and knows everyone on the island.
I love the Outer Banks but there is a shortage of good food. I’ve tried several ice cream shops and the DQ is definitely the best local experience you can get down there for ice cream, and one of the healthiest too (most of their ice cream is just milk and sugar without any added chemicals or corn syrup or other things that are bad for you).
Love OBX. Love DQ!

yum. better then village conery. love the soft serve ice cream. we only get dairy queen when we go to obx… can’t help it! highly recommend going through the drive thru though rather then standing at the window — you’ll save a lot of time!
i think the girl who took our order was stoned both times we went there, but she was sweet and got our order right, so whatever. :)

First time I’ve ever had a famous Dairy Queen soft serve.
I had it dipped.
In chocolate.
I’m now addicted.
and by the line outside i saw from the drive through,
I can tell it’s not just me.
I’ll be back tomorrow.
and will visit DQ back home.
