Ah right, hail damage, late June this year, yeah yeah, we all got hit pretty well. Turning to Unilocal to find folks who do roofing and siding is tough, or at least I had a tough time finding what I needed in what little there was on here. After a Google search and having about 4 places come out and take a look, I went with ECS. We had a rocky start with each other in that I had an imposed schedule and an atypical, complicated scenario to work with. I originally had a hard time getting a hold of Don, my contact person, and the office to get a start date. After a few phone calls where I was starting to sound annoyed, they got it and things went very smoothly after. The garage shingles were torn off and redone, half the siding on the garage, the siding on the biggest and tallest side of the building, the flat roof torn off and redone as well as the gutter and other sundry items. I had to move in the middle of the progress so I didn’t see the completed roof and related, but they did a great job(and quickly) on the parts I did see. The guys working were nice, efficient, didn’t make a massive mess and cleaned up everything as if they hadn’t been there. They did the job right which is what’s most important. Like I said, I’ll never know how the roof turned out or how the materials and labor will hold up, but speaking as someone who knows quite a bit about construction, from what I did see, it’ll last a long time. The other great thing about ECS was that they handled the majority of the paperwork going through the insurance company after the adjustor had been through and handled it all in a very timely way. I must say, as an aside, Liberty Mutual rocks. Between Don and Tim in the office, they were friendly, helpful, accommodating and always available when I had questions which is a big deal when your house gets stripped naked of important coverings. We had to leave our 100′ extension cord behind for the scaffolding lighting and Don went the extra mile, purchasing us a replacement. The lack of the final star is only in that I never got to see the finished roof which is, of course, not their fault at all. In the end, if I ever need services such as theirs again, I will call them first and I recommend that you do too.
