Was disappointed with the new ownership, first they got rid of the hostess station so we had no idea wether to seat ourselves or wait for someone then had to flag down the bartender. No silverware on the tables so when we got our coffee we had to ask for it only to find out there was no spoon in the napkin to stir it with. Got a salad and the ranch dressing was either bad or had too much vinegar in it. My wife didn’t have any salad and there was only one choice of soup, black bean. Anyways I ordered the ribeye and either its was a bad cut of meat or I was served the the wrong steak cause it didn’t have the signature eye, had good flavor though. They only had one waitress and come to find out later that she usually is a bartender but she was nice and did a real good job, she did have a helper that would come out once in a while, had to ask for coffee refills. My wife ordered a chicken fried steak and it was grey inside, not sure if it was homemade or a frozen patty. Oh by the way they closed down the Sunday brunch. So don’t look like. We will be going back. The only reason we went there in the first place was that my wife got a complimentary dinner for two cause her work does business with the hotel. And be prepared for patrons from the bar sitting down in the restaurant area drinking at the tables even though they have tables in the bar.

Came here for brunch… I was surprised what they had to offer…$ 15.99 for brunch includes a bloody Mary or mimosa, and the usual soft drinks and juices. We usually go to lake villa, but wanted to try somewhere close… usual breakfast items, omelettes to order, included along with crab legs, shrimp, veggies which weren’t over cooked definitely a plus. The servers were very personable including the host(I couldn’t remember his name). The lighting is a bit dim, but the food is definitely placed by the Windows. hot food is hot, crab legs and shrimp cold. The fruit is ripe and cool, the chocolate chip cookies were soft and delicious. You should check this place out, there bar is right next to the grill so if mimosas or bloody Mary’s aren’t your style, you have other options. Overall, its close, great options, decent ambiance, good food, give this place a try!

As far as I can tell, this place used to be a scary gang-banger hangout and a bit of a dump. Under new ownership, the Ramada in Waukegan has invested over $ 1MM in upgrades on the lobby, restaurant and bar. I visited the bar because I heard they had great specials during Bears and Packers games. They most certainly did! Any bottled beers in the house are 5 for $ 12! This includes exotics like Affligem, Two Brothers, Lagunitas and Left Hand. These beers are typically 6 – 8 dollars a bottle, so this is the deal of the century. I’d get on out there asap before somebody catches on! Plus free pizza and wings for football games. Decent pizza was available as well as a chafing dish full of buffalo hot wings with ranch sauce. The atmosphere is pretty open. It’s plenty safe now and it’s clean as well. There are about 10 monitors around the place for sports games. I really hit it off with the bartenders. One regaled me of the history of the place. This used to be a place where the local druglords and gangbangers hung out for drinks. Fights were frequent and someone was even shot and killed in the parking lot. None of that now. A new bar manager won’t stand for any shenanigans. Thank goodness. I like a shot and a beer but not to be shot with my beer! They have a couple of signature cocktails as well as a selection of flavored spirits including the new moonshine craze. I’m more of 3.5 here on review, but I know they’re trying hard to upgrade the clientele and atmosphere, so I’m giving them a half a star for effort. Go with a friend for some great beer during a game and you’re set.

This place is the Ramada Hotel’s bar and restaurant. I’ve Been here for three days for nephew’s Navy Basic Training Graduation. The owners are from No. California and offer 70 beers, most micro brews. Amazing. Pretty good food too. The service is excellent. Bartenders treat you like a local when you’re staying at the Ramada for sure. So if you need a good bar and grill close to the hotel’s for Navy Graduation, then this is it. I recommend just staying here at the Ramada.
