I eat lunch here a couple of times a week. Great sandwiches and service. The owners, Zarko and Nevenka are wonderful. Nevenka was the Chamber of Commerce Woman of the year 2013. Also a great real smoke shop with quality cigars.

Very quaint and small shop and lunchroom tucked behind buildings facing Main Street. «Jack» is a very friendly and helpful fellow and assisted me in finding cigars to my taste. The selection is limited and better humidification would be a good idea. Haven’t tried the sandwiches, but seeing as how there is only a choice of 5, I’m hoping they are exemplary. In any event, I’ll be back… ambiance here compels me!

Great Old-Watsonville shop; owned by one family since 1914. My buddy and I went in for a sandwich(tasty, fresh, handmade, and only $ 4.99, plus $ 3 bottles of beer). I bought a pipe and some tobacco. The owner blends the tobacco – delicious, and at a fair price($ 5.99 for a baggie of aromatic, $ 7.99 for Balkan). The pipe selection isn’t huge, BUT the selection is of high quality, beautiful, unique pipes with lots of choices under $ 50(and up to $ 1000+ pipes for those of you who need to free up some pocket space). I have a couple beautiful Savinellis from Jack’s. Support this shop because: 1) Smoking is a luxury, so you should and can afford to support a local shop. Don’t give your luxury money to some .com warehouse; besides, you want to hold that pipe and smell that tobacco. 2) This is a smoke shop that is NOT a veiled pot accessories store! If you smoke tobacco, whether pipe or cigars, you don’t want glass pipes, bongs, and hookahs crowding out the responsible adults’ products. This is a place for you; please support them. THEYARE A BITDIFFICULTTOFIND! The address is on Main St., but the Parking Lot is off Union St. across from Alexander St. between E. Beach St & E Lake St. Look for the brown building with the Green«Jack’s Cigar Store and Lunchroom» sign. Enter though the courtyard. Enjoy in moderation.

My boyfriend has been wanting to go to Jack’s since we moved to Watsonville. I’ve never smoked tobacco in my life so that’s all him. I however am a sucker for a good sandwich and this place doesn’t disappoint and neither do the prices! $ 4.99 for a sandwich, 75cents extra for avo or a french roll. I got a salami and avo sandwich because of the review below on a french roll and it was delicious but next time I’ll go my bf’s route and get it on a wheat bread. I think with salami and the fact that it’s sliced so thin, that the french roll is too thick and takes away from the flavors. I was still very much satisfied and will definitely be going back. Next time I’m thinking I’ll try the pastrami. My boyfriend ended up buying a pipe(around $ 40, they have a wide range of prices which is always good) and some of their house blend tobacco which he thoroughly loved and enjoyed on our porch. I know we’ll be returning for the sandwiches and I’m sure my boyfriend will end up buying more tobacco and pipes as well. He wants to start a collection after all! Also, the owner is extremely friendly and that always deserves acknowledgement in my book. :)

Overall Look: Place is very clean and outside area has an abundance of greenery and flowers that are well maintained. My understanding is that the owner does this himself as a hobby. Inside has seating for about 25 – 30 people and has the standard cigar store Indian figure which I found to be quite authentic. Great sandwiches-I know it seems odd coming from a tabocco shop, but there is no smoking inside and the place is kept really clean. I recommend the salami with avocado on a french roll, but have tried them all over the years and found them to be delicious. The place does not get overly crowded which is why I like going there. Sandwiches are around $ 5 which is reasonable. Cigars-What a selection! They have all price ranges($ 2-$ 20 per cigar), sizes and very large selection of brands(Macanudo, Cohiba, Arturo Fuente, Avo, Partagas, Monte Cristo and Acid to just name a few). There were also plenty of cuters, cigar punches, cases and humidors to choose from. The owner is very helpful and nice man who knows his stuff and always seems to mix in a little bit of humor that is quite enjoyable. The prices are also very reasonable. I personally liked the way the cigar boxes were displayed as it made it very easy to see what the owner has in stock. If you have time, I would recommend bringing a couple of friends and enjoying a cigar and beer outside in the courtyard. I enjoy smoking Acid Ones and Punch cigars. Pipes-All different prices styles. Some really nice ones as well. Not much of a pipe smoker, but if I was, this would be the place I would go for that. There is also many types of pipe tabacco including some house blends that smell really good. Cigarettes-Don’t smoke them, but he seems to have a good selection of them. I also noticed that he sells electronic cigarettes that are rechargable… interesting concept. Interesting Facts I Learned: This place is one of the oldest establishments in Watsonville. It has been around since 1914 in downtown and has been run by the same family since then. Only two people have run the store(Jack himself, and Zarko – who many call Jack out of convenience – has run it since 1980).
