So far I’ve been here a few times and I’d like to add that it is a very friendly and good place to stop but for a bite if you’re looking for Mexican food. I’ve had a better plater at other bigger restaurants like jaliscos but this is another hole in the wall with great potential and I’m sure they do out there effort to making their customers happy. I recommend this place to anyone. Will be coming back when I get the chance. Thumbs up! (:

manager dosent take the time to try food, or he would know how poor it is.
i never use to have these problems, but i noticed alot of people have quit.
perhaps they arent training their staff correctly.
not going back there again.

This is the first time I’ve updated a review. I called El Frijolito last week to order food to go and was told that they’re too busy to take my order and they hung up on me. Guess they don’t need my business anymore.

4.5 stars for their delicious burrito de camerones racheros. I am an addict. Shrimp or Prawn Burrito Rachero (with sauteed tomatoes, green peppers and onions). You also can get the garlic or diablo (I am hooked on rachero). Best little secret.

What a fine place. Not fancy, simplemente muy auténtico, friendly and fast. Love it and go there every week or two.

As someone who knows what real homemade Mexican food is, I am rarely impressed by these «authentic» Mexican restaurants. This restaurant was no exception. Food was bland. Nopales look sad and brown like they come from a jar. Burritos lacked flavor and salsa. The salsa they gave us as an appetizer was also flavorless. Jamaica tasted like it was store bought.
This place has really nice service but it’s not worth the mediocre food. The food here tastes just like any toned down flavorless food that you would find in Santa Cruz. Food does not taste authentic.

Amazing Mexican food!!! We found it on Unilocal and its history from there. We had the carnitas plate and the chilaquiles. Everything was so delicious! With two drinks we walked out paying $ 27.00. Can’t wait to come back!

Super al pastor burrito is off the hook. They are fast, cheap, and delicious. I love using the back window instead of going inside, literally a hole-​in-​wall.

Best burrito in Watsonville. Tasty, moist and just the right mixture of everything in it. It’s also huge and a great value for what it costs.

Absolutely LOVE this place. It’s very authentic Mexican food! Its a bit small in there and since it’s so good, you probably don’t find a seat the moment you arrive. But people are leaving every few minutes and you’ll end up finding a seat maybe after you order, that always happens to us. I’ve had a few things on their menu and have loved every single one: Quesadilla, Camarones a la diabla, sopes, carne asada, coptel de camaron. It’s a very good portion of food, and seriously I think it’s underpriced for how good and how much they give you haha

The service here is super fast and everyone is very friendly. The food was absolutely delicious! I had to go back a second time and it was just as great as the first time. I’d recommend it to everyone.

I’ve been here a few times for their vegetarian burrito! Great flavor, great price. Humble place with good energies.

Love this place, genuine mexican food! So happy to have found this spot as a go to when driving through. The carne asada torta is yummy.

I’ve never had a bad experience here! All their food is delicious, I recommend the burrito of camarones a la diabla, bomb!

Staying out at the Dunes for a month and found this fabulous restaurant on Unilocal!Family run, very casual atmosphere with huge bags of dried red chiles stacked against a wall on the way to their very clean bathroom! In addition their portions are extremely generous and their salsa and chips were excellent. Very friendly staff and the food was served quickly and efficiently. The refried beans could’ve been hotter, they were luke warm but other than that I would definitely make a return trip!
Give it a try if you’re ever in Watsonville, you will not be sorry. Oh, one more thing, the prices were ridiculously low and they had a decent amount of foot traffic picking up To Go Orders. I can definitely see why that would be happening!

Yummy! I love this place. Super casual but always hits the spot. I love that they leave the skin on their shrimp for their Shrimp dishes, adds to the overall flavor.

Came here for a burrito, and come away totally unimpressed. The décor on the inside is definitely pretty bare bones, but that’s totally excusable if they knock your socks off with some good Mexican food. Not the case here.
I ordered a carnitas super burrito, which was listed for $ 5. Seemed like a great price at the the time, except that there was nothing super about this burrito. The carnitas was average, but the rest of the ingredients left a lot to be desired: beans, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, avocados, and salsa. Considering all these ingredients, the burrito still felt half filled. Certainly would’ve benefitting from the addition of rice.
There’s certainly more on the menu to potentially redeem this place, but it’s pretty easy to find good Mexican in Watsonville, so that’ll keep me from coming back.

This was a good experience. We stopped by for lunch and missed the rush. We had the Taco platter in chicken and beef that included rice and beans. Both were very good and there was a lot of food to eat.

Located a few blocks from the local grade schools. This is a small shop where seating can fill quickly.
I came in for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised by the speed to which orders came out. Small shop in a strip mall. I ordered a burrito and got chipotle sized one for half the price. Adequately seasoned. Ingredients were on mark. Salsa was on the spice mark.
Good: price, delicious, and well fed.
Bad: a little tight on seating.
Overall I beat the rush of school kids for lunch and found a bargain for my meal. I’ll try again. Four stars.
