This place actually surprised me. I tried it reluctantly, but I am very glad I did. It is a fried food place, not the place to go if your feeling healthy, but it hits the spot on a fried food sort of day. The owner is the first to greet you when you walk in the door, he is very friendly, and helpful. The place is small, with some seating, but I would only use it for take out. What I liked: 1. The Fry oil is fresh and clean! — This is rare for a small place like this, and I hugely appreciate not tasting fish in my fries. 2. The food is Flavorful! — He actually spices his batter, which is very good, especially in comparison with the Red Barn. 3. The Coleslaw is Cold! — This shouldn’t be something I’m impressed with, but I am because it seems like ever bbq and fry place I go to serves warm coleslaw… 4. They use paper product containers! — Another thing that doesn’t seem like a big deal, but if you’ve ever gotten french fries from a pizza place served in styrofoam containers, you know how soggy they get. These keep the food crisp. Things that could be better or improved: 1. The location isn’t great, and the driveway is a little difficult to get out of on a busy day. Not something that can be improved, and it wouldn’t keep me from coming here. 2. French frys are ok. They certainly aren’t bad, but could be spiced better. 3. Weird store bought dinner roll served with baskets? I don’t know, its not bad, just not my thing. I think they would do better with freshly made biscuits. Thats about it, overall a good place, and worth a try. I would go here over Red Barn.
