Best experience at a Korean restaurant ever. All of the reviews of this place are true… the décor, the«one woman show.» And that is what makes it extra awesome. The food was LEGIT. I recommend the bi bim bop. Amazing. But be prepared to have suk hui make you clean your plate! Love her!

I Give Suk Hui Hi’s a 5 star rateing, but for reasons beyond just the food. Suk Hui has been running this place for a long time, and iv been eating here for quite awhile too. i stop in about once a month or two, and she always remember’s me, and always seems to be able to pick up our conversation right where we left off. more often than not, i usually find myself alone at the restaurant with her, and we just sit and chat. the bibimbap is great, but sometimes i feel the mood just for some beef and soy sauce with white sticky rice, a side of fried egg, and a whole lotta kimchi! she’s a one-woman wonder, and between ordering, preparing, and serving, it takes about 10 – 15 min.

So, the other reviews were pretty much correct. This place does not have the greatest décor, but the food is not too bad. Not great either. I’ve had better Korean dishes. First off, the lady who owns/runs the place is a bit rude! I say that because she criticized California(I’m from California, born and raised) saying that where she went(LA) was nothing but dirt and heat! Really? You cannot criticize ANY place until you’ve actually explored the entire place. I didn’t say anything because I knew she meant well. She just kind of came off rude. Anyway, I ordered the special. It was ok. My food came out cold and it looked unappealing. I’m not expecting it to look like a 5 star restaurant, but it just didn’t look tasty. However, the flavors tasted better than the looks of it. And the side dishes? Only 2. I wished the kimchee was more fermented and I wish she had all the other side dishes that you normally get when you go to a Korean restaurant. Again, not great, but if you’ve never had Korean food, give it a try. She’s a nice woman… just don’t take her seriously if she makes fun of you. Overall, my rating for this place is ok. I prefer Taste of Korea.

I recently ate here with co-workers who were having Korean food for the first time. The first thing to know is that this restaurant is a one-person operation. Based on the newspaper clippings on the walls, Suk Hui has been running this restaurant all by herself since at least 1992. The décor predates that by many years evoking a «dangerous Chinese restaurant» atmosphere. The restaurant is also not the cleanest, and the dim lighting probably helps. I didn’t see any bugs, but the cutlery could probably use another pass through the dishwasher. The food was good. My coworkers had the house special which consisted of bulgogi, beef chun(fried beef cutlet), deep fried mandoo(korean dumplings) and rice. I had a spicy tofu Jigae with beef broth served in a dolsot(traditional korean stone pot). Suk Hui brought out some home made banchan(Kimchee, pickled cucumber/zucchini, pickled sesame leaves, and some kind of pickled mint/pea pod leaves.) The food feels homemade rather than being restaurant style. We were all impressed that Suk Hui could prepare all this food for us in less than 30 minutes. Overall, the food was fresh, home made, and tasty. The décor and cleanliness are not for fastidious people though,(we didn’t get sick).

I’m giving this slightly pricy, hidden gem sort of, hole in the wall 5 stars cause the food quality is amazing! Which is my bottom line, really! It’s best for take out. Foods prepared fresh and was hot and plenty of it. Will be a regular visitor from now on!

Delicious, fresh, traditional korean fare. Small, quaint restaurant for eat-in. Perfect for take out. «Suki»(owner, cook, hostess, server) is a delight.

I’ve been coming here for years and the food is fresh and flavorful! I love that she will make your food however you want… Spicy or mild. Bulgogi is tender and well seasoned, the spicy chicken dish is also a huge favorite of mine. Yes, the restaurant is small and yes, she is the sole proprietor which makes it more like coming to a dear friends home. I absolutely recommend and she has quite a loyal following.

This place is very small so I do not recommend dining in. I would say it’s more of a take out but call in advance for your orders because the service is pretty slow. The food is alright, not the best but its good enough for Watertown. Price is average.

I went to this place because I was missing korean food from back home. This place was small and dirty… the food was ok. There was hair all over my plate… We didn’t say anything because I didn’t wanted to be rude and just paid and got out of there.

It was a Sunday and I was craving for some Korean food. This is the only Korean place that’s open for business on a Sunday. It’s a really small place and when we went, the owner was the only person there. She was the cook, hostess, waitress all rolled into one, so service was pretty slow and I was a little disappointed that she didn’t even offer us water. I ordered Bibimbap which was so good! The egg was cooked perfectly without me telling her how i liked it. My husband ordered the Bulgogi which was pretty good too. My brother-in-law ordered Beef fried rice and he said that was pretty good too. We also had half an order of steamed yaki mandu and half fried yaki mandu. The fried one was definitely a lot better and the dipping sauce was delicious! I would definitely come back! Just make sure you call for your order in advance if you plan to take out.

This particular restaurant didn’t have a review so I decided to do this place some justice. This is my first review so I apologize if it’s not the best. I went with my wife, daughter, and dad. The appearance of the establishment isn’t the best but needless to say, we were pleasantly surprised. First, I’m familiar with authentic Korean food as I have dined with many Korean friends and this place has dishes that hit the nail on the head. I ordered the Bibimbap which was presented as excellent as it tasted. It had the perfect mix of marinated beef, bean sprouts, rice, and seaweed. I even added the included Kimchi to the bowl. The kimchi was a little spicier than I’ve tasted before(which was perfect in my opinion) and was fermented perfectly. My wife ordered the chicken bulgogi and it was also a great find. I’m sure this dish isn’t hard to mess up but the chicken was tender and spiced just right. My dad ordered a Korean combination platter. I can’t exactly recall what it included but he enjoyed it thoroughly. The only reason I knock this place down one star was due to the fact that the Korean main courses weren’t served with the various traditional side dishes. Although they did come with Kimchi, that was really it. Additionally, the place looks pretty run down from the outisde however the inside feels cozy like you are eating at someone’s home. I believe all this was not significant with the service and home made quality of the food itself. The owner is great and she pretty much runs the whole operation. She was entertaining for my 1 yr old daughter which is always a plus. If you aren’t partial to Korean fare, a large Chinese menu is featured. Suk Hui Hi’s is an excellent find and I will definitely make a point to visit again.
