Schuett’s Drive-In

The girlfriend and I went here for lunch today. I had high expectations because most of the small town ice cream places that have been around for awhile generally have some very underrated food. We both ordered burgers and Coney Island Fries.
The burger was sloppy, but in a good way, it looked like it would be a great burger. Took one bite of the burger and noticed it was made with store bought frozen patties. The patties were hard, texture on every bite was hard and it had zero flavor. The bacon was the microwavable kind that was thin and flavorless. Took a few more bites because I was starving, but couldn’t bring myself to eat more than half.
The fries were pretty similar. They were undercooked, the cheese sauce had no flavor and the ground beef on top tasted like it was for a sloppy Joe. The ground beef overpowered every bite. Again I couldn’t even eat half.
The only reason they have 2 stars is because while the food may be awful, the employees were extremely nice and I’ve heard they have decent ice cream.
Watertown is in need of an actual burger joint that can produce quality burgers. It’s quite sad when the best burgers in the city are from Hardees.

Open during summer season. Awesome cool treats and fair type food. Good place to bike. Outside seating.
