This small place on Main St in Watertown was not the first place I looked when I decided to get my ears lowered, but it definitely will be on the top of my list in the future. Anthony’s is a simple shop that echoes the style of a classic barber shop and exemplifies the skill of a higher class salon without the latte bar, decorative fountain, or price tag. For many years I chose to cut my own hair to save time, money, and to bear full blame when it comes out slanted/​crooked/​chunky. Most of the time it works out in my favor, but every now and again it is good to get a trim with professionals.
I have tried a few places in the Watertown area, but have never been satisfied enough to actually ~want ~ to go back to these unnamed places. Anthony’s 511 is just as the name states, Anthony is the one and only gentleman cutting your hair at this 511 Main St address. In 15 minutes, he was able to sculpt a perfect faux hawk from my less than perfect hair. His chair-​side demeanor kept things lively, straight forward, and even hilarious at times.
The best part, or maybe the most marveling part, was the warm shaving cream dispenser that he used in conjunction with a straight blade to tidy up the back of the neck. No Sweeney Todd blood letting here, just a great cut at a hard to beat price.
Fast cut, great service, no week long wait to get an appointment, I might have found the best barber in the area; a hidden gem among all these other establishments charging over $ 30 for a men’s cut. The 20yrs of experience is a nice bonus too.

Tony has been cutting my hair for years. When he moved from Milwaukee to Watertown I tried to replace him, but I was not able to find anyone that offered his quality of work. So now I drive out to him and it’s worth it, even when gas was $ 4 a gallon.
He also specializes in coloring, my wife would not consider using anyone else!
